  1. That is a crazy price. Add the ticket tax and it's back up to £50. I remeber them playing QPR in their next home game after us last season and they charged them something like £25 or £30. They don't like us do they?
  2. Usually plenty of Saints fans in the pubs on the Barking Road. If going by train have a drink around Liverpool Street station and hop back on the tube for 20 min (ish) journey to the ground. .
  3. If anyone has tickets in block NL4 then we've got the full allocation.
  4. Juve live on BT Sports right now if you fancy it. They've got the Turin derby on Sunday, whether Osvaldo will get a look in will have to wait and see, but it will be interesting to see how fiesty it gets...even if he only makes the bench no one's safe!
  5. Yeah but...that had nothing to do with 'away funds' or 'Barclays' that was just West Brom laying on 40 free coaches for their fans out of the goodness of their hearts and giving them a nice day out. And as you say "beat us", the greedy b'stards.
  6. I have to admit I've not heard anything about this before http://fcbusiness.co.uk/news/article/newsitem=2716/title=barclays+launches+premier+league+away+fans+initiative and it's not related to the fund to "subsidise travelling fans" that for some reason SFC decided to ignore. Liverpool do reduce the cost of every away ticket by between £2 and £4 for their fans under this scheme. I guess all Premier League clubs will get Barclays complimentary bus travel at some point?
  7. Barclay's providing complimentary coach travel for Liverpool fans to come down for the Sky game. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/southampton-v-lfc-further-sale-2 What with the newly painted away concourse it must be a real pleasure visiting St Mary's these days.
  8. Well, nobody can deny that cup attendances have been poor in recent years for most clubs, for the early rounds anyway, maybe that does send out a message to the clubs. But there were 859 Saints fans up there yesterday, only 225 less than the 1,084 that travelled to Hull a few days before. This for a trip a hundred miles further north, a game that was live on TV and 4am set-off for most with around 12 hours driving ahead. They cared. I've watched City v Chelsea and Arsenal v Liverpool since our game. They cared.
  9. And after all that, we get...yesterday.
  10. If nothing else, yesterday has sent out a clear message that cups are very low priority to this football club. The position we currently stand, mid-table with, realistically, only a chance to finish 1 or 2 places either way, there was never a better opportunity to push on and have a good go at winning the thing. Our first choice 11 or so players have been outstanding, playing in such a way you would have given us a chance in a one-off game against anyone. Sunderland fielding an under strength side, big sides going out, quarter finals on offer. What an opportunity, if the current set-up won’t go for it now, they never will. So I think the club should make this clear next season (in case anyone is in any doubt!) before fans fork out their hard-earned and waste hours on the road and we can all have a “rest” on cup days.
  11. Looks like the PR team are getting some OT in this evening. Can you go back and let everyone know that a big chunk of the fanbase are seething tonight, probably feeling a bit betrayed, fook knows how the 850 that travelled 650 miles today are feeling.
  12. I think it helps that the last few years we have had a chance of actually getting a result, this season in particular, we've never looked so good away from home in my over 4 decades of following this club. Most away trips in the 70-2000s was mainly damage limitation with the (very) occasional victory.
  13. It's gone a bit off topic, this started out as a bit of a tribute to the modern day Saints fan. Let's just accept that, other than the half a dozen big clubs with fans all over the country, every other has good days and bad. I mean... Has ANYONE ever had such poor 'Premier League' away support as this? (you'll have to ignore the 4,000 in the second pic, I didn't know how to cut them out)
  14. Excellent night's work. And I doth my cap to over a thousand Saints fans making that long trip midweek.
  15. That one's out there somewhere. Oh, look.... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga/page1798#.Uvoh3GJ_uSo #89874
  16. There was big banner there with something similar on it, I'll give you that! Hopefully Pochettino is just settling down in front of Premier Sports to watch the Argentine Cup Final between his old team, Newels Old Boys and Boca, just to get him in the mood for Saturday.
  17. Was that you down the front topless, swinging your shirt above your head in the hail storm? Was a touch p*seed walking away from the stadium having drawn 2-2 against that side...how the took must the mancs feel today? They're right about the Chapel tho. Comatosed.
  18. Yep, you've captured the memory very well there. No goal has created that feeling of unbridled joy and passion quite like it ever since. The only thing I'll pull you up on is "Yellows, Yellows, Yellows" started in the 90s, back then it was strictly "C'mon You Yeeelllloooooowwws"
  19. A bitter Stokie... http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Mike-Pejic-Southampton-Saints/story-20583236-detail/story.html One theory on spend blown out the window... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2553796/Proof-money-buys-happiness-Manchester-City-Chelsea-Manchester-United-net-spend-charts.html
  20. It is p*ss poor with free travel laid on. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/226681/journey-southampton And did you know that the our "arch rivals"call us "SCUM" for "breaking a docks strike back in the 30s" http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/226744/southampton-slums Apparently, Port Vale fans call them "clay heads" cos they broke a few tea cups in the notorious potteries strikes back in the 20s. Another true story.
  21. Is your dad called 'saint lard' cos he's trying to shift yours? This game ain't going to be good is it?
  22. Of course, that's why I put...
  23. Unfortunately, 95% of Saints fans will be totally unaware of any tribute and just be mystified at what the Stokies are chanting/clapping about. Booing will likely follow with Saints fans being accused of not giving a fook. Exactly that happened down here when Villa fans did their Petrov tribute. Who knew what that was all about? When nobody joined in they got all outraged and their messageboards were full of it after. Good for Stoke fans to respect here all the same.
