Think you're right...we should get a few more eastern Europeans over here....................................
-
Just started to watch a live Aussie match for the first time on BT Sport, didn't expect too much but bit surprised. Looks like a Sydney 'derby' but cracking atmosphere, entire ground has been bouncing up and down, Looks and sounds like a game in Turkey!. Full stadium and decent away support, is it always like this?

Poch to leave at end of the season?
alehouseboys replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
But tbf, which Spurs player/manager is gonna live anywhere Tottenham? But London is just about the only city in this country that is a desirable destination for rich foreign football folk...and more likely, the wife and family stuck at home. -
FA Cup 4th round draw - Sunday 2pm - HOME v YEOVIL TOWN
alehouseboys replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
http://www.ciderspace.co.uk/fixtures/0806-cc1-southampton-away.htm A good fan report on the last time we played them in the cup. -
It's strange, I can't remember much about after but getting there was a ballsache. We had a car load and the roads getting near Fulham were gridlocked, I've a vivid memory of the rose sellers walking between the cars trying to offload their leftovers of the day to weary motorists. Great night though, followed with equally massive away days at Luton and Orient. Looking forward the trip this year.

Looks like P1 and P2 is 'Cottage Corner' and home fans only. This end holds 7,200 (just over 1,000 per section), if away fans can grab most of the neutral areas (P3, P4) that can swell visitor numbers to nearer 5,000.

FA Cup 4th round draw - Sunday 2pm - HOME v YEOVIL TOWN
alehouseboys replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
I can't remember them ever bringing more than a couple of thousand tbh...we can't complain at the draw tho as long as we continue to take it more serious than previous cup outings. -
Yeah, Market Fields (think they play elsewhere at the mo as it's being redeveloped) thought it may have been a tricky one. It was a good couple of days over there, at the height of the Bobby Sands/IRA stuff and they refused to play 'God Save the Queen' which, I believe, was obligatory in European competition back then, so we just sung it loud and proud all the same. Caused a bit of a stir among some of the locals after.

That would be outside the visitors entrance at Exeter. And one for the older Saints fan, a few of us visited this for an eventful trip back in the very early 80s...

On the stream I was watching the 'tater immediately said "never a pen", then saw it again and you knew he'd made himself look like a whopper but couldn't backtrack, and announced (despite the defender looking the other way to where his hand was poking out away from his mug) "yeah, no pen, players always put a hand up to protect their face". c***.

Good tip on the 'Saints Away' forum if there's a group of you wanting tickets for the neutral area also saying this area is now on sale to everyone http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?47933-Fullham-away#.Ur1kPtJdWSo http://www.fulhamfc.com/match-centre/2013_2014/league/home/southampton

Actually, I think you're right but maybe it was that he played at Filbert Street not actually knowing it was broken. Something like that anyway. And there was also the 'Battle of the 'taches' when Souness arrived.

Broke his arm at Leicester away but stayed on. Committed to the cause.

That sounds suspiciously like you're describing TCWTB. And with those teeth it could easily be the Cosham Tranny http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-fried-chicken-shop/videos/all/s2-ep1-cross-dress-code there is a resemblance tbh...

The thing is, and I despise the ugly-bell-ringing-worzel, if it wasn't for him their ground would be as dead and devoid of any atmosphere as it was before him and his girlfriends took their drums in to try and whip up a bit of fervour amongst the blue-few 'choir'. He is a **** tho.

...and Turkey and Greece and just about any in South America, Eastern Europe, those Russians are pretty mad...not to mention Marseille, Napoli, Bilbao, etc., etc. And many of these do it in open stadiums miles from the pitch (Bucharest anyone?) not some tiny, tinny stadium. Nothing beats a bell and a drum. I guess.

Post Match Reaction: Newcastle United 1-1 SAINTS
alehouseboys replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very good game, second half for us. Decent point, taking off my Saints tinted specs, wouldn't have been fair on either side to lose that. Makes for a better long trip home or night out up there for the 1200 or so that travelled. -
Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Manchester City

Steve Davis has to go down as one of the best bits of business ever carried out by this football club. A real gem of a bargain. -
Yeah, 2 great moments, lucky to have been there to witness both. You can never see these too many times...
-
Difference this time is Osvaldo knew what he was getting into having played under Poch before, Ramirez has never shown that desire and also missed most of pre-season and so started the season already miles behind. I've seen a little more desire in Osvaldo to suggest he 'could' yet come good. 3 posts and out.

Adapting from Serie A to the Prem is one thing, coming to a club where fitness levels are through the roof and your new team-mates have had a preseason together and a month of double training sessions means you're on catch-up straight away. Not to mention the culture/city lifestyle shock when you've moved from Rome!

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/heading-to-the-emirates-this-weekend-1186163.aspx Will we be hearing of loads of Saints fans stuck outside at kickoff. Don't leave it too late getting to the stadium if you're in this block.
-
Think we would but I can see this being played 'behind closed-doors' if it comes about - too many security measures required.

Man City have returned 600 tickets which will be sold on to Saints fans, so a few extras up for grabs
