  1. It will stll just come from the same 2 corners of the stadium (and the aways if we're ragging them) so won't make twitchy very...well...twitchy. Guess this may have already popped up somewhere but worth a read... http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/36364/
  2. Already been tried...and failed. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50676-Song-for-Koeman#.VCUJR-twYiE
  3. An outsiders take on the matter... http://thepremierleagueowl.com/southampton-should-be-embraced-rather-than-belittled/
  4. It's all going fairly well right now, just worth remembering we're probably not quite as good as we think we are when we win and certainly not 'as bad as' when we lose.
  5. They play spurs 4 days after us and CL a few days after that, they'll no doubt stick a number of youngsters in but they'll be hungry and certainly no mugs...and also a bit of an unknown quantity. Expecting a good encounter. Roll on Tuesday. http://arsenal-mania.com/articles/3111145/Which-Arsenal-Young-Guns-will-we-see-against-Southampton.html
  6. Some scousers are actively campaigning for safe standing. This is a good thread... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45024-Safe-Standing-Back-In-The-News#.VByjUutwYiE
  7. Well, it doesn't look like they're looking for suggestions as it sounds as if a tribute has already been decided on and whatever the family and board deem appropriate is fine with me. I hope everyone just accepts whatever it is and the few don't kick up too much of a fuss if it's not up to their standards but... 'If' they were to rename a stand then that's OK with me, preferably the Chapel (of rest) as it may just wake up some of the 'spectators' who sit there...I'm sure some think they're walking into church not a football stadium.
  8. They're far too big for TV, there's not a screen big enough to cope with their colossal massiviness. And TCWTB's big f'kin mouth, of course.
  9. Meanwhile on southsea common... http://i61.6.com/1fg5c6.jpg[/img
  10. I wonder if MOTD will recognise it as that, there's 6 other sides that need to be squeezed into the top billing. Know our place. Looking an exciting fixture...shame the club accepted just 1,000 tickets. What happened there?
  11. Bob Mills to be exact, on the Colin Murray and Friends show. The only show I'd tune the radio for on TalkSh*te, even Perry 'thanks for nothing' Groves is the voice of reason on there, I quite like him now! But yeah, let's be honest, it's simple, easy to sing, and works, so the only chance there is of it catching on with our fans.
  12. Block 22 is going round into the end, those buying tickets over the next 2 or 3 days are gonna be more behind the goal.
  13. It must be Derby away in the play-offs, around 5,000. Other than that there were some good away crowds in the lower leagues, we took 3,000 to Charlton and Peterborough midweek. Bit harsh on the loyal regular travellers to get the worst (if any actually exist at the Emirates!) seats.
  14. "I was there when Franny scored, I was there when Franny scored" Would hope to hear that and "Benali, Benali" ringing round the stadium tomorrow, this man needs to be carried to the finish with a wall of noise from the fans, the least we can do after his outstanding efforts. If you haven't had the opportunity to donate yet, go prepared to drop something in the collection buckets tomorrow. It may be a good idea for the PA announcer to let fans know when Franny's about 5-10 mins from appearing on the pitch to give everyone the chance to sup up and get themselves out pitchside.
  15. It will be nice if there's a sizeable cheque from the club waiting for Franny when he arrives at St Mary's on Saturday. Hopefully the (overdue) extended coverage he'll get towards the end will see a significant boost to donations.
  16. It's just over 5,000 and there's been no mention of a possible further allocation, yet. And to a previous poster, of course there's still "lots" left (whatever lots is?) as there still only on restricted ST sales,"lots" of season ticket holders can't buy them until next Friday.
  17. And Manchester is very close to 'home'. If he returns to form I 'd be amazed if he didn't jump at the chance.
  18. I hope he stays here and continues to improve. But, more than likely he'll be gone by this time next year. When he does, if Man City want him and that is the best financial deal for Southampton FC then all fine and dandy with me. And it would mean he never went to WHL.
  19. As they've only been on sale for two days restricted to season ticket holders with a minimum 3 aways, there's little chance of knowing how sales will go from that. By this time next week we'll have a better indication once it reaches the season ticket holders stage regardless of always. You can get a match ticket plus coach travel for as little as £20 for the lot if you want. A good show against the Geordie's will see a scramble for what's left in any general sale IMO.
  20. He's no Papa Waigo. Perfect timing.
  21. You may still get a chance to, they suspended sales early as they needed to update their ticket system, did they ever start up again? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/tickets/season-tickets/ this still shows on the OS And just about every other nation. But will be good to get back to St Mary's.
  22. Was hoping that one disappeared with Cortese (don't think Franny would appreciate sharing a song with the Don). Just simply "Benali, Benali, Benali..." continually as he goes round the pitch would he him a massive lift. The TV cameras will be following him round so any 'obscene' language will just ruin the moment. Good luck Franny, hopefully every Saints fan will donate.
  23. I'd imagine the club will offer them the full allocation if they've already sold out 2300 with the game still two weeks away. Nice one.
