  1. Come on, it's obviously a bitter skate, it's killing 'em. We may have to get used to this sort of thing (again), they're hurting real bad.
  2. Small fry. 4th division minnows usually take thousands away when they pull a big club out of the bag...bit of a cup final for them. I'd expect us to take twice as many.
  3. Yep, that should get a bite.
  4. It's nothing to do with lack of interest, just that many are now just watching at home or down the pub for free, high ticket prices add to the issue. Simple as that. Until they find a way of blocking feeds and dropping prices it will only get worse for most clubs.
  5. I believe Norwich's season ticket costs are higher on a 'General Sale' but renewals, particularly their 'Early Bird Renewals' have been far lower. The season we were both relegated from the Premier League they significantly cut their prices and retained very good support, whereas Saints kept the same prices and attendances dropped. Norwich have had big renewals on the 'Early Bird' ever since so I would think only a relatively small percentage pay the full 'first time' price. Villa almost give season tickets away at the lower end/early buyers.
  6. Excellent and sensible words as usual.
  7. One of the best games in my memory against the (they also called themselves Geordies back then) Mackems was at the Dell around '77 in conditions just like this, p*ssed down the entire match. Won 4-2, a second division game on MOTD and a lively day in the rain on the Archers terraces.
  8. I remember about 30 years ago my mate lending me an old Beta tape about ladies football in Sweden. It did mostly focus on the changing room after a match but was very interesting. It put ladies football in a very favourable light tbh. Incidentally, this weekend it's AFC Bournemouth Lesb...I mean, Ladies v Saints Ladies if you're interested? http://www.afcb.co.uk/news/article/2014-10-16-ladies-to-take-on-saints-in-cup-tie-2019192.aspx
  9. Tbf, there's some top to totty on there.
  10. The reverse of whatever adidas produce for Ajax in 2015 would probably do me.
  11. http://thecitytalking.com/content/2014/10/14/saints-strike-late-to-deny-leeds-ladies-in-fa-plate
  12. Another couple of very good independent articles http://thepremierleagueowl.com/dismayed-by-nathaniel-clynes-lack-of-england-involvement/ http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/FAN-VIEW-Calum-Chambers-Nathaniel-Clyne-favour/story-23133051-detail/story.html
  13. Well, brace yerselves...sick buckets at the ready...they're featuring the dirty-cheating-skates on Football Focus today. I guess this little spat won't get a mention?
  14. He's obviously a big Saints fan now but you could ask him who he supported as a kid growing up in Wiltshire, we nicked him as a youngster from under the noses of Swindon Town. Was that his team?
  15. This will almost certainly make General Sale, I'd be amazed if this got close to selling out. It's a good price at £15 and a fiver for kids who'll be off school but even if it did they've given that entire end to away fans so we could take a further allocation. That stand holds 4,994 and we wouldn't take that all the way up to Stoke for a midweek league cup match!
  16. I was thinking about Gardos being fit enough to cover this "big injury". The only one I'd be concerned about covering is Forster, right now we've got good cover for other positions.
  17. Didn't Guan put a random "Is Gardos fit to play?" yesterday? Maybe he was hinting, could be a centre half (Fonte's probably OK having been called up) or fullback doubt.
  18. I guess you're basing that on the B team they had out last night? If Poch plays that side again Sunday then you're probably right, unfortunately he won't. I'd take a point all day.
  19. Guess that was you in the pub then?
  20. I heard a couple of thick ****s trying to sing that in a pub once, thankfully everyone around soon let them know they were behaving like thick ****s. I think if I ever heard that inside a stadium I'd knock it on the head and just have to accept we really have got more than our fair share of ****s for fans. Just watching City v Roma, the Itie fans are top notch, can't imagine them singing stupid f'kin songs but tbf I aint got a clue what they are singing...guess it could be about country pursuits?
  21. Don't like to be picky but it was "We are Southampton..." And I've never heard " Newcastle Brown" before. More stupid 'lyrics' but it did start out as "We only drink brown" as back in the 70s when this was first sung we were sponsored by Watneys, famous for Watneys Brown, and drunk in the bar down the side of the old Milton terrace. Somehow over the years it got changed to "rum", even more bizarre! Got a bit of a runout in our corner at the Emirates last week, the same weirdos were also singing " Come on you reds".
  22. You are joking, right? Fookin 'ell.
  23. He's getting better with every game, cracking goal today. There's a lot to his game and I would think he's very close to Conte's squad on this form...he's also loving the response of the crowd to his efforts. If you and your daughter are sitting in Block 35 when you come over then you will be diagonally opposite where Pelle celebrated his goal today.
  24. Despicable act. Something sounds a bit fishy about this. Let's hope they nab the culprit so it clears this up, hopefully some good CCTV knocking around.
