Draw at best. The Liverpool game highlighted the problem of passing back to a keeper who makes saves but not FC24 type skills fir outfield players. Is big Paul out, he held ball up well and dribbled passed a few players which we need.
-
Ramsdale, THB, Fernandes, Downes, Dibling could go in Jan window. Wouldn't put ir past Liverhampton, Man u or Arsenal bid for £40m we are a selling team and pay too much for players so books never balance.

I'll be thinking of Iron Maiden, Hallowed be Thy name, during the game. Cause at 5 o'clock, they take me to the Gallows Pole The sands of time for me are running low Running low, yeah! Ok 5 o'clock for 3pm ko. -
Saints 2-3 Liverpool - Match Thread

My son is playing at 12 KO, so even if he plays just 1st half then we try to get from Totton through Southampton's world class traffic congestion the game could be 5-0 when we get in ground. No trains again and bus last time took 1 hour to get from station to Cumberland place. So not looking forward to this match on all fronts. It won't be as good as the 4-4. Just seen video of tall Paul goals on loan, why can't we get the ball to him! -
Strained back from picking ball out of net. Or possession fatigue.

POLL - Should Russell Martin be moved on?
die Mannyschaft replied to AlexLaw76's topic in The Saints
Realistically he is not going to go as, a) there isn't anyone we can afford Potter, Moyes far to expensive, b) new manager won't play possession football and our players would tgen need to change style, c) we won't by any players in Jan window. The owners will want some dosh from investment and prem money provides that. December is too late for new manager and if we don't get 6-8 points soon we won't get out botyon 3 anyway. -
If we accept relegation then any goals or shots are a bonus. At what stage of the season with under 10 points have teams not been able to avoid relegation. I'm guessing 10th Jan.
-
I'm completely board each game at St Mary's. OK last season as we had a decent amount of shots over the season. But the style and tactics dictates, stop, wait, pass then repeat until pass back to keeper. The few dribbles and runs forward we have don't end up with a shot on target. Wolves are not a top 10 team so that's our bench mark for aggressive attacking football.
-
How can you let a goal go in within 2 mins on a 6 pointer must win game. Saints struggle to get a few shots on target when it's 0-0.

Saints playing as badly as they ever have
die Mannyschaft replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
As an older fans with 40 plus years of watching Saints I don't class possession football as real football. Tge tactic is the opposite of the purpose of having a goal and strikers. It's utterly boring and negative football. The chips before the match is more exciting. The lack of shots also. But a lot of people like this type of dross, and it's actually coached at all levels. Winchester City FC is much more entertaining at a fraction of the cost. With VAR I'm getting completely bored at St Mary's. Even Brandfoot got more wins and goals. -
I'll be late getting in for this game, so go 2-1 Saints win with Everton scoring in 3 mins. We will get a late goal 96th min. Everton probably better in all positions than us so it's a case if we gave to one win at least and this is the best chance!!
-
Going to Saints U21 v Leipzig at Eastleigh fc instead as the trains are just useless. LCFC game on way hone bus took 1 hour to get from soton train station to Bedford place/London Rd. Let's hope Saints beat Stoke and don't do another Grimsby! I suspect it will be a changed side but at least not too many U21s as they will be at Eastleigh fc!!
-
City 5-5 Saints 301/1 or 1-1 20/1 Could be anything if you factor in added 9 mins 2nd half, a red card here and there, VAR, and the now usual 5 subs. I'll go for an early goal from Saints or og City, then.....
-
As long as there is no VAR then I'm happy. Shoukd be more goal so again more entertaining and I go to watch goals not passes or sideways football. A lot of players will move on or get sold. A chance to go to Wembley is another plus in Championship More chance to go to away games. Easier to get tickets if no season most of the time It would be ironic if RM stayed and got us promoted again. Even when Saints play well we lose or bottle it in 2nd half. Need at least 14 points by end Dec or it's relegation.
-
I don't understand why the subs were made when cruising 2 up. If the players taken off had to due to fitness then that's a worry that starting 11 can't last past 70 mins or so. The subs left Saints second bedt and struggling. If you cant win the six pointers your not likely to win any games from teams above 15th.
-
As long as we are not 8 points adrift then can leave it till last few games, otherwise it's 3 wins to make the table look good. I don't expect much ti change even in Jan window. I didn't expect a goal, hit bar and post, and few balls in box at Arsenal so if Saints can do that at home v lcfc we may nick a 1 nil win.
-
On a football entertainment rating its not good. Hardly anyone shoots from distance, constant free kicks at corners, boring football tactics, VAR stupidity, diving, rolling around, players sitting down in box to stop attack . And vastly over priced. Watched Winchester City v Weymouth and that was proper football.
-
If Saints keep doing that we won't a win all season. Even some free kick and a corner v Forest was passed back to halfway line then to keeper.
-
Bets placed 2-2 25/1 0-1 40/1 7-0 60/1 9-0 100/1 0-2 100/1

I can't see RM leaving as he was signed up to play the way the board and owners want. Plus all the players we have in transfer windows are players who want to play that type of football. If your making decisions based on generating income then it's best ti stick with what you have. Even if relegated we could go back up and I guess better off. Season tickets will still be same cost or higher, no store discount, I'm sure club will find a way to charge more, maybe £10 to keep you seat or £1 to use the bog. WBA must be well off still with promotions.
-
Always a good away game up there and thd old Highbury library. I think we saved 16 shots once I was there, may need to do the same. 0-0 if we play 1-8-2. Have we got 10 defenders that's not 5 each half the whole 99 mins
-
We may be relegated boxing day so shirt maybe 75% off.
-
Oh well game over.
-
Too slow. We can't compete just on the basis that our game is to slow things down, stop and look. No urgency and don't like to take long shots. Why is Dibling not on the wing.
-
There isn't any discount applied when you order a shirt on line, do season ticket holders get any store discount or has that now been removed.
