  1. No...what you do is create an environment where the players fancy their chances of success at the club they're already comfortable with and don't see moving as a necessity....Kinda like what Nasty Nick did during his time at Saints. A self fulfilling prophesy if you like. But having spent most your life blinded by bitter hatred for one thing or another, I wouldn't expect you to see that.
  2. Of course it's a consideration.....My point was the fact that you and several others are pointing to the sustainable investment during the Cortese era as a bad thing....Your post was dripping with sarcasm.....When if fact during his time here he strengthened our foundations with a state of the art training facility, put back on the world stage and increased out turnover and future ROI 4 fold. Hell...Just getting to the prem one year later than we did makes that 27m look chicken feed.
  3. Funny thing is.....When Ralph's words came out of Lowe's mouth....Most peeps including you towards the end, were wanting to hang him from the Itchen Bridge......You couldn't make it up
  4. 27m is a drop in ocean for a 100m Turnover PA company with many times that figure in assets....We used to have a mortgage higher than that on a whole lot less turnover and were considered one of the most financially stable clubs in country. Hell it's even less than the cost of our training facilities which are essential in helping to secure our future turnover. Seems the Club's PR machine has done a job on some.
  5. First lemme say good luck to Veho and welcome aboard, they seem like a decent company with plans for growth. My concern however, is this appointment puts yet another huge question mark over the new Board and Ralph in particular.....Through all the fan pandering and waffle, one thing that has shone through was the boards determination to improve the commercial revenue... You could almost say they were hanging their hat on it......and here we are, 8th place in the prem with a 10m turnover company as shirt sponsor.....At least Nasty Nick had the excuse of brokering a deal in league one and due to our rapid accent ended up stuck with some legacy contracts/sponsors in the Prem. Would be interested to hear the thoughts of the peeps who have been using the AAP deal as stick to hit the last CEO with.....
  6. Man, you need to get DirecTV or Dish before the start of next season!.....Their Prem coverage this year has been absolutely phenomenal
  7. Why would you be watching any Saints game on a dodgy stream?.....NBC have shown every game live in HD in the US this season.
  8. This is kinda like the Volkswagen Chairman embracing Skoda's history, before reintroducing the 1960's and 70's models......enjoy peeps
  9. That's how i remember the description when it was thrust on us. God, i nearly cried when i saw that monstrosity for the first time. And with the old ball it wasn't even as bad as it now....The monochrome treatment worked wonders for it though, shame it doesn't look like we'll be keeping that style though.
  10. I think that's the problem.....Lallana and Shaw are more than up for a challenge.....But that disappeared at Saints, with the fire, energy and ambition of the last CEO
  11. so far 70% say anything but stripes.......Interesting and agreed
  12. I'm pretty sure if 'you' were given the same funding to run the club over the last 5 years, we'd have been in the knackers yard long ago.
  13. If anyone came into this forum when we were -10 in league 1 and said pay me 10m and i guarantee within 5 years I'll have Saint's sitting in 3rd place in prem, 80m + a year income and 3-5 players in contention for the England squad. 'I' guarantee there wouldn't be a damned soul who wouldn't bite his hand off. He set out his stall and achieved all targets comfortably and deserves every penny he's been paid as far as I'm concerned.
  14. Rather ironic considering your location.......Thought you were loving the new touchy feely Saints....No more hospitality servers not up to the job getting fired an all that?....Well at least while were still in the prem at any rate.
  15. Believe it or not, that's exactly the service i received when i purchased my first season ticket at St Mary's....Not only that, but i was shown around the ground and got to try out the seats i was interested in before i purchased one. Mind you...that was back in the Lowe days.
  16. Trolling Barry and Glasgow is as bad as Barry and Glasgow trolling this forum....The end result is still the same. That's another idiot on my ignore list
  17. Nope...Back then the Club had a vision, drive, direction and a plan that the Coach and players believed and bought into....Now we have........best i can see is waffle and fan pandering...I don't believe there's much left of the above at the Club anymore and seems to be reflected in a some of the uncertainty now surrounding the players and Coach. One thing's for sure....This wouldn't be happening if Cortese was still here and Ralph and whats his name need to get a grip and start showing some leadership instead of just talking about it, before it's too late.
  18. Nope....Your position is called ****ing in the wind.....Aint gunna happen.....Far too many billions of humans need to produce carbon to survive or progress and both are hard coded within us..... Not to mention no one has yet been able to prove that the current levels of atmospheric carbons are a bad thing.....Certainly not by measuring against some arbitrary datum that a few alarmist tree huggers have deemed to be set at snapshot of just a few years ago, when history shows the planet's carbon levels have fluctuated massively since it creation.
  19. Last time i checked...Humans were pretty much 100% natural....Just another species on this planet and part of the natural cycle....We wouldn't have been given the tools we have, if we weren't meant to use them....That's natures way.....
  20. I don't give a damn who's department it was....That was the sort of statement any Chairman or CEO worth their salt should have been making....The fact it had to come from some else speaks volumes
  21. 7 for me....Would have been higher, but loosing games to stupid defensive errors and not capitalizing oh huge periods of possession have frustrated the hell out of me and definitely tempered what potentially could have been one of the seasons of a life time. The Jury is still very much out for me out for me Re Kruegar.....Any successful company needs a strong, focused and committed leader....I'm not so sure we have that atm....The fact today's 'Chairman' type statement came from Reed, does nothing to reassure me in that department. Having said that, absolutely loving the way we play and if we keep the players we have and get a couple more in, maybe it could all come together next year.
  22. You sound about as stable and blinkered as James Hanson himself....Seems to be a common theme amongst certain alarmist...on a par with religious zealots with global warming your God. Interesting to note, you still couldn't provide any justification for manipulating the Reykjavik data....Nope just hurled some abuse, ran away and hid behind a rock....So I'll just take it, you don't have any justification for data manipulation and chalk one up to me. Oh...and i know you're going to peek at this...you won't be able to help your self.
  23. So you came to a soccer forum to learn something about climate change?...and you call yourself clever? No wonder you can't provide any justification for Wigley, Jones et al ironing out earlier warm periods at Reykjavik and other locations. By the way, in case you're not aware, and I'm starting to suspect you're not.....This is the 'erm stable mind who's been running the show at GISS over the last couple of decades.....(where the graph came from) James "Coal trains of death" Hansen .......http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/02/science/james-e-hansen-retiring-from-nasa-to-fight-global-warming.html?_r=0 Just fills you with unbiased and neutral confidence doesn't he?...Thankfully he's gone now, although god knows what kind of indoctrination his successor has endured.
  24. So smoke and mirrors and a fail in his transferable leadership skills then?......Unfortunately i can't say I'm overly surprised.
