A couple of cm's of snow in Manchester last night (Burnley a bit farther north of me and higher up). It's melting away quite nicely where I am. Keep an eye out for weather forecast those travelling up. Brrrrrrr

I had missed all this by time I was allowed to go on my own circa. 1986. Although the appeal of standing in the centre near the back of the Milton still registered with us nippers from Marchwood. I don't recall anybody nasty during my formative years only the celery chap! He was as mad as a box of frogs. He wore a leather jacket, white polo jumper and red and white bar scarf. He would arrive with seconds to spare before kick off to rapturous applause and cheering from the muppets, like the arrival of a king! After a short delay he would produce his bunch of celery and hold it aloft. The next few minutes were then spent pogo'ing like crazy chanting the celery song with this guy in the thick of it. Losing your footing and ending up halfway down the stand was obligatory. So no violence just surreal experiences for me in the late '80s.

I tell you who I feel for, that American guy who has booked to come over and watch that garbage. I believe he's off up to Goodison as well. I hope you've been drinking heavily to numb the experience mush.

It's really simple. Out of form or not, scapegoat for the latest defeat or not. Forster doesn't command his area. Never has. There really can't be much debate about this? For his own development this is something he is going to have to address sooner rather than later.

This. Even last night David Prutton (co commentating for NBC) spoke about the imposing figure of Forster, "the opposition must be truly intimidated at the mere sight of him in the tunnel". Yet this mass of intimidation is frankly a dosile lump. He intimidates no one. Come off your line FFS! Wipe people out, command like a big bastard you are!!

Every f**kkng loose ball and ricochet is falling for Spurs. It's happened my entire life against these c*nts!!! I hate these more than that blue sh*te we sing about a lot.
-
Exactly. That's the reason I chose him out of every other squad member. Er... I mean that's what my sauce told me.

Tbf, I have heard similar in that Fonte never takes his euros winners medal off in the changing room. He walks around waving it in people's faces whilst stark-bollock-naked. Insane stuff from our captain. Yoshida is particularly riled up by this and has threatened to lamp him. Josh Sims had to step in to separate them.

Oh and a very enlightening read by Piere. I will take the interview on face-value. The personal stuff about his father was moving and to lose someone so important at such s young age is very hard. He is showing similar resolve to Gallagher who also lost his father young. It could all be positioning and future profile development but taking my cynical hat off, I hope the lad does well for us and continues to develop. Surely some of these buggers will stick around and help us 'do a Leicester'. Didn't Wenger troll us a few years back saying "if they could keep their players they would win the champions league". The b*stard!!

Good post. The only bit I would argue with is the new 6-year deal for VVD. Sadly, this does smack of the club and player maximising potential transfer fees. I would add a caveat to say "well done" VVD if this turns out to be the case. He certainly didn't need to sign it. In doing so he is ensuring we (and Celtic) realise massive returns. That's my way of looking at it anyway.

Listen without prejudice was a good album and proved his songwriting credentials extended beyond the pop of Wham! Odd f****** year for sure.
-
Shock move for Defoe? We should of signed him a couple of years ago but the fella would get 10 goals for us if bought in January. I suspect he is too integral to S'lund's survival prospects tho

We laugh of course but it is absolutely sickening the sums of money being chucked around in football, and other walks of life. The abject misery and poverty in the UK, nevermind the rest of the world, whilst this kind of thing goes on. How the f*** did it come to this. Merry Christmas!

Saddo that I am I enjoyed browsing a few pages of the Ronald Koeman thread last night on GrandOldTeam (Everton forum). The winter of discontent. Does make me smile when ex-players/managers don't do as well as they had hoped once leaving St Mary's.

This is sung to the Oasis song 'She's Electric'. Might be helpful to some fans not familiar with a) the chant or b) the tune it is taken from. Possibly one of the most original tunes sung in recent years. Did we steal it from someone else?

Haha carefully crafted. You make it sound like these inane d*ckheads who plague these forums have some kind of forthought or intelligence.
-
I can. Good news.

It certainly is!!! I have told my students at Uni that anyone using comic sans in any capacity will be failed and finished. RIP Rolland. I love your(our) badge. Likewise would love to see the early design sketches.

Saints 1 Hapoel Be'er Sheva 1 - Match & Meltdown Thread

Should of bought Jermaine DerF***ingFoe years ago. No chance he will come in January now as S'lund need him for the fight. Saying that, we would probably starve him of service too at the moment. Ah well, at least there is the lovely Jessica off the Apprentice to gush over to drown our sorrows. Just me then? Oh! Onwards fellow Saints!!! -
It's news like this that keep me interested in Saints and football. Without this connection with developing our own players I find the whole thing a joke ruined by money. Congrats to Sam and family. Thoroughly deserved.
-
Yes I noted that also. VVD does so much communicating during games it's fanratsic. Constantly calling over to the fullbacks encouraging and alerting to be in better positions. The guy has the lot. The best centre back in the league bar none now on current form. That marauding run into the Arsenal box in the first half.... blimey! We've been very blessed in defence in recent years.
-
Defeat here as Everton click into some kind of form. We are garbage at the moment. Shame as we got a bit of momentum after a few teething issues early doors.

Sparta Prague 1 Saints 0 - Match Thread & Melt Down

There are plenty of reactionary posts and sensationalist posters but no one actually wants to see the team get beat FFS. Sometimes this forum is a complete waste of server space and bandwidth. -
I think POTY is a two horse race already. If both players continue their outstanding form for the remainder of the season it's going to be a very close fight.
