  1. Incidentally, I'm still waiting on a mate to renew his membership before I can start getting tickets but had a look at availability for the opening games. The Northam is just about sold out but plenty more elsewhere, particularly either side of the away section. Just goes to show, despite some slagging it off, that it's the most popular stand to be in.
  2. I'm a member, I don't feel like a mug. And it cost me £25 which it would have done for anyone if they got on and bought one. I never had a ST from 71/72 season until the Dell went all-seater and then had one up to recent times when my circumstances changed and a membership became better suited. It gives me first shot at home league tickets, a better chance of aways and almost guarantees a Play-Off ticket. Small outlay and you get a bit back with deals for some matches.
  3. I would imagine a few skates may buy a SFC membership to try and get a ticket and vise-versa…just saying…
  4. If they're doing well St Andrews will be a bit of a bear pit for visiting teams, easily the most atmospheric in this division. The noise from all round the stadium when they played Newcastle on TV in the FA Cup last season was a bit special.
  5. I feel another skate fairy (ahem...ferry) tale coming soon to go along with the mythical "dock strike". How many times are we going to hear that mentioned next season?
  6. Knew I'd heard that before...
  7. But…but…but…they did. The Umbro kits finished end of the 75-76 season, we then went with Admiral who produced the new home and away kits, we just got to see/use the yellow and blue first. There, to save another poster the trouble. Don’t thank me.
  8. I don’t want to go all MLG on you but we got around 1,700 tickets last time and, tbh, I’d rather the 150 mile+ drive to Brum than the usual slow slog down to the depths of Devon…not so many tractors, caravans and tourists heading for the West Midlands!
  9. I'm wondering why you say Plymouth "understandably" as if it were close by...we're closer to Birmingham. Bristol and Cardiff are closer, the London clubs half the distance. As a member, I'd say OK for most home games but little chance of most aways other than some of the long trips up north (particularly midweek). And next to no chance for skates, Oxford, and probably any game south of Stoke.
  10. Yeah, got an email about it from the club that linked to it yesterday with an option to pre-register for Memberships https://saints-comms.com/p/2HKL-90Y/25-26-memberships-ryi I got tickets for ‘most’ games I wanted to attend in the last Championship season and again in the PL
  11. We took around 3,000 there a couple of years back but they'll give you the entire end if you want it - something like 7,000. Edit: I think the most we've taken up there is 5,000 a few years ago now.
  12. Yep, nothing but respect for KWP. Great servant to this club, enjoyed watching him play for us and nice fella to top it off - should leave with everyone’s best wishes.
  13. As I understand it the Aggregate companies lease those riverside plots which actually have another 10 years or so on the current arrangements but the idea is to try and relocate them before then. One such plant has recently set up in the docks, maybe step up Dibden Bay? I occasionally have a browse on this site which is pretty good for seeing what’s going on or planned for Southampton - there’s one or two informed posters on there (including at least one city councillor) https://www.skyscrapercity.com/forums/southampton-developments.4534/ I did notice MLG has posted on there about the stadium! https://www.skyscrapercity.com/forums/cultural-sporting-and-entertainment-venues.218/
  14. First I’ve heard of that, the flats are still current on the SCC planning portal - probably will be ditched eventually like many others plans and I’m sure the club would be standing by… For a city with a river running almost through the middle it certainly has missed out on using it as a focal point like most other big cities. All around the world most of the best cities make it a major feature and leisure attraction. I believe eventually the city vision is for one long riverside promenade from Ocean Village through to St Denys
  15. Just had a look on the OS to see if anything about renewing memberships (probably not until ST sales have slowed) and noticed that they've got the "last remaining MEN'S season tickets" on sale. Do they have separate seats for women?
  16. I think that was definitely the case back around 2000 but (could be wrong) I think things may have changed now. Would be nice to have a more Dell-like tightness! I also seem to remember reading something back then about restrictions with the rake of the terracing but that appears to have changed as Everton's new stadium has some of the steepest new stands. Man City are doing similar with their new top tier at one end and Spurs looks fairly steep too.
  17. Dave Merrington always has my respect and admiration. He did a fantastic job bringing through the youth, a job he loved and excelled at. But was shoehorned into the first team manager's job, something you felt he didn't really want and he was later dumped for Graham Souness. All at a time his wife was seriously ill. "Big ol' Dave's Red and White Army"
  18. In an ideal world we'd dig down to add more rows that way and bring the stands closer to the pitch but, being right alongside the River Itchen, we'd soon be hitting the water table. If there was a way to tank the excavation and it was an engineering possibility then that could add a few thousand. That's a 'no' then. Even if it was possible, I guess cost and time would be an obstacle and certainly wouldn't get it done in a close season!
  19. I agree, I was just seeing it from the clubs perspective for a moment and how they may counter the fakes. And if they just charged a reasonable price in the first place then many more fans wouldn't look to send money to China!
  20. They'll be plenty of "mugs" that won't buy the shirt... I'm not a shirt-wearer myself (and yep, I've still been called a mug in the past...) so it's not a biggie for me but I prefer to watch my team playing in a kit that doesn't hurt my eyes. And as football clubs are being ripped off every year by Chinese copies I wouldn't rule it out that some will be deliberately 'leaking' incorrect new kits so that the bootleggers start banging out clearly wrong and obvious fakes.
  21. We've never given 4k for league games, away fans only get a max of 3k in the PL and we only have to offer 2k in the Championship (we'll probably offer 3k if needed as it looks like that section can't be easily segregated). But reports are saying sales are going well, even if all ST aren't sold for the start of the season I'm sure they'd sell the remainder at Xmas as half-season tickets (like the old days) if we're going well.
  22. I don’t think I’m the only one but I’ve got almost full confidence in Dragan Solak, I believe he’s a genuine fella. I’m quite content with how things are now changing, just feels right.
  23. Looks just a cheap knock-off version of this (which is far better). Red stripe down the sides and no differing shades, trust this is more likely.
  24. I think the official attendance was just under 30,000 but that's because they had to shut the gates as so many were finding ways of getting in without paying and not clicking through the turnstiles, they lost count! I remember it being 'guesstimated' there were probably around 35,000 rammed in with thousands more locked outside. That ramped up even more when they opened the gates towards the end of the match to let people leave which very few did but just allowed many more to pile in. That's why fans were spilling over onto the pitch before the final whistle.
