  1. 'Plundered'. I don't see it that way. We've sold players for ridiculous fees this summer which if re-invested well should enable us to build a better team and a better squad. Proven Premier League players cost a fortune (rightly so) but if we put enough money into scouting then we can get better value for money abroad whilst bringing British players through the academy to maintain an English core. Clubs competing for the top 4 places can't afford to take the risks and would rather pay the proven premier league premium but we are in a more relaxed position. Get the scouting department right and we have a formula for growing the club properly. If we don't move forward then it's because we haven't spent the money well and we'll have no-one to blame but ourselves
  2. Shane Long? Has to be played centrally IMO to get the best out of him
  3. Brilliant. 20 goal strikers cost a lot more than 8 million and we can't afford them. Good to hear you'll be jeering him though in October as that is going to massively help him and i'm sure he'll appreciate it. Utter mongs on here
  4. 1) Ward-Prowse and Davis in the same team won't work in these type of games. We need more of a goal threat 2) Long should be playing centrally, not out wide 3) Service to Pelle not good enough 4) Easy to see why we're after a winger We were poor in the final third today, but the positive is we look a solid unit and have a decent base to work from, despite losing so many players this summer

    Forster

his distribution was miles better than we were led to believe, certainly a big improvement on Boruc's anyway. Apart from that he had nothing to do

  7. Proved himself last season to be a great player. Not sure how/if we can accommodate both Ward-Prowse and Davis at home against the lesser sides though, and Ward-prowse was excellent yesterday

  9. He's close with Lallana and Lovren, understandable that he backs them over Les. I paid more attention to the bit where he said he loved this club and will do so until the day he dies

  11. Wrong. We created 3 incredible chances and only took one of them. They took both of theirs. That was the difference as it was plenty of times last year - finishing

  13. We were the better team, created the better chances and should have won the game. Just poor finishing cost us. In terms of quality I see no difference to last year and we still have players to come back and money to spend. It looks very encouraging

  15. It is. It exposes footballers for the thick, greedy ****s that they are, even if some didn't know it already.
  16. "We know now that every single player in the squad wants to be here". ********. We all know Morgan wants out so why come out with that?
  17. Fantastic pro and a decent player for us, and more importantly was a fantastic captain which was very evident at Fratton Park when he had probably his best game in a Saints shirt. Good luck to him
  18. Because we accepted very good offers for them, offers we deemed too good to turn down. You know of any big bids for him? Didn't think so
  19. Shouldn't have signed a contract for more than a year then if it was that important to him then. Can't have the financial stability of a long term contract without sacrificing the ultimate say over where he plays his football for the duration of said contract. It's very simple
  20. Didn't say he was a shocking keeper, said he made appalling errors which he did. The fact Gazzaniga is even worse isn't reason for us to stick with Boruc as no.1 If he's that good the big boys will be putting in bids in the next couple of weeks, but somehow I doubt it
  21. Just force him to stay and let him go on a free next summer. His contract doesn't stipulate that he's entitled to be picked every week. It does state that he has to train and make himself available for selection, even it's as a sub. Should also be noted the reason he won't be first choice is his own fault having made appalling errors last year
  22. You've got to be pretty ****ing stupid to not see the obvious differences in the way Lambert and Lallana behaved during the summer. So you're either very stupid (probably most likely) or on a wind up
  23. Nowhere near as good as last year's top 4, all of whom have strengthened significantly while Spurs have done very little
  24. Sorry I missed the point. Merely saying no matter how good a manager he could be I can't see them getting in the top 4 with that squad. City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool look miles ahead of them
  25. Means very little with the squad he's got
