  1. I can only agree with this. A complete **** hole and I can't think of a single positive thing to say about the city or it's football club.
  2. I don't think he can do that. He needs to be playing regularly to maintain his fitness and sharpness. 10 minutes here and there does him no favours There must be a part of him regretting the move even though they are his team
  3. Probably the worst ground in the country for atmosphere now. But that PA system does play You'll Never Walk Alone loudly before kick off
  4. Went there for the game last year and the atmosphere was as bad as Anfield. It's become a myth that they have a great atmosphere there. And they're one of the highest net spenders in the premier league since their return, the Coates family have pumped big money in
  5. And that just about sums them up. A nothing club going nowhere doing nothing despite being one of the highest net spenders over the last few years, and the chip on their shoulder is all so apparent. It particularly bothers them that the England coaches can be spotted regularly at St Mary's when they should, obviously, be at the Britannia watching Ryan Shawcross and who else exactly? Steve Sidwell? The fact they still talk about Jack Cork is really quite pathetic. Still, their double standards on diving is now there for all to see after this week Tough side to break down though and it will be a difficult game
  6. We honoured their contracts didn't we?
  7. And that's a good thing. It will show everyone it isn't about staying/leaving. It's about how you behave
  8. Actually that's where you're totally wrong. This bloke is everything that's wrong with modern football. The club stuck by him when he was a nobody and needed heart surgery. The club stuck by him the first couple of years when he broke through but was struggling. The club gave him the honour of being the club captain despite still being young and was seen as a strange choice by many at the time. Very few other clubs would have shown him that sort of loyalty. He signed that 5 year contract and his quotes are easily found. They were all lies. Even last season he was banging that badge at every opportunity he got, even doing it when he was "dreaming of playing for Liverpool". "Mr Southampton" was dreaming of playing for Liverpool. And then he ****s off at the first sniff of a bigger club being interested and does so by telling the club he's going on strike if they don't let him go. When a club goes through what we were this summer you expect the club captain, the man who said he'd bite your arm off to finish his career here, to show some ******** and a bit of leadership. Instead he behaved like vermin. And don't let anyone say it was about ambition as true ambition would have been to stay here and try to push this club into the champions league rather than taking a short cut to it. The move was about money. He pledged his loyalty to this club and then sold out for 30 pieces of silver. I didn't really care about Lovren. His quotes were unnecessary and stupid but he is a mercenary footballer and has never claimed otherwise. But Lallana told everyone he was different and the truth is he's just as mercenary as the rest of them. He lied when he signed his contract, he lied when he said he loved the club and he's lying to Simon Peach now as well about what he said to the club in the summer. He'll get a horrible reception when he returns, and the good thing is there will be a contrast on show when it's compared to Lambert's reception, a man who knows how to behave with some class. I appreciate you're a family friend, but don't come on here making excuses for that rat. He knew exactly what he was doing
  9. We were flat i thought. From the first minute i didn't feel we were physical enough and we lost far too many second balls throughout the game, but we defended pretty well and restricted them mostly to long range efforts. They were the better team but we missed a couple of great chances to get a point and considering it was a 5/10 performance that is pretty encouraging away from home against a top 6 side. Every team has off days during the season and i felt that was one of them. Spurs were pretty ordinary as i expected although Adebayor once again was Man of the Match. He seems to turn up every time we play them. The atmosphere at WHL really is abysmal
  10. He even thumped the badge when he scored
  11. Have a look at the betting odds for the weekend. He doesn't have to justify predicting a Spurs win based on that, not that he has to justify his predictions anyway in a meaningless, lighthearted competition he does for the BBC. And it isn't necessarily logical to make predictions based on form. Form changes
  12. This is a man who recently wrote an article criticising FFP and claiming it prevented clubs such as us (I think he directly named us as well) from keeping players and competing towards the top of the league, and yet now he slates the board for selling players He's a moron
  13. Keep digging Martin. Give your mate Ashton a spade to help you as well
  14. The problem for MP is that he has a squad that should finish between 5th-7th on merit but if they do that it won't be enough (it clearly wasn't last season for Sherwood) and for him to better that he probably needs to replace about 15 players with 10 better ones. So he needs probably 3 or 4 transfer windows at least to sort the squad out but he has a chairman that won't give him that time, and who has an unrealistic expectation of the current squad's abilities He'll do well to make it to next season IMO
  15. He's too busy emailing Neil Ashton for his next piece
  16. If only someone had returned Lallana's phone calls
  17. Because said chief exec treated him like ****e and in the 9 months since he left has done everything he can to cause as much trouble as possible to the club Matt loves. Bloody funny as well
  18. Bony was dominating the game (not their midfield) so he should feel pretty stupid getting himself sent off like that. Good player but obviously a bit thick. I'd be tempted to take Yoshida off as the ref will even this up if given the chance
  19. Harrison Reed. The only reason I can think of is they're worried about blocking his path
  20. Of course he agreed terms, that's the reason he wanted to leave. ££££££££ I hope Koeman has sat him down and told him that he should be thinking a lot bigger than Spurs. He's good enough to play for much bigger and better teams
  21. I saw it and was slightly surprised by it all. It looked to me as though Tadic knew JWP was the designated taker but thought it would be a great area for him to have a go from, and JWP backed down. JWP should be taking them unless he doesn't fancy it, and these things should be sorted out before the game with Fonte stepping in if an issue like that develops IMO. It might only have been a small issue but it does to me show where JWP needs to improve. He has loads of ability and he just needs the confidence to show it. In the second half at Liverpool and at West ham he was fantastic and started to run the game and as he grows in maturity I hope his confidence grows with it, and if it does he is going to become a seriously good player
  22. We had many games last season that were similar to the West Brom game. No doubt if we struggle to break teams down this season the games against Sunderland, West Ham, Cardiff, Villa, even Wets Brom, from last year will be completely forgotten about. The success of the season will probably rest on Pelle. If he can get up towards 15 goals I'm confident we'll be better than last season
  23. He was quoted as saying he would earn that money after deductions
  24. Gaston is probably one of the highest earners in the squad and it therefore makes financial sense to get him off the wage bill if he isn't going to be a regular. If he does well at Hull we should be able to get a decent fee for him next summer
  25. I just don't see how Gaston fits into a team without a runner up front. He never worked that well with Lambert because there was never enough movement for him and i don't think it will be any better with Pelle. He would probably be better with Long as the front man
