I'd use the last two games to see if one or two players are up to it. Reed should play both IMO, so should Gazzaniga and Djuricic. Long up front in his natural position and let's see how he does. I have a feeling he would surprise a few people Fed up of seeing Pelle up front EVERY game and Davis in an attacking position EVERY game regardless of who we're playing
-
He's an excellent crosser. If Pelle is going to still be our centre forward next season then we could do with a few players who can play to his strengths
-
Gaston has had numerous opportunities and done very very little. I can only remember Djuricic starting in one game (Liverppol at home) and I thought he was our best player. Could have had 2 penalties, looked lively and in the second half when we were struggling to break down liverpool's back 5 he played one through ball to Elia (who obviously ****ed it up) that nobody else in our team could play I think you gave written him off too early, simply because he hasn't been given a proper chance here yet

He stated quite clearly in his interview with Solent
-
He did give his reason. He wants to see him play and make a decision on whether he's good enough for next season. Kelvin will play at City to get his 300th appearance

Post-Match Reaction: Leicester City 2-0 SAINTS

I don't know why people are banging on about Cork. He's a good player but we were right to get some cash while we could and it hasn't been the reason we have struggled in the last few months. The reason is Pelle has been totally out of form, partly because I don't think he's really that good but also because we don't have the natural wingers who are going to provide crosses for him to attack (Clyne is also a very poor crosser), which we did have some of in the first few games when Tadic played on the left and Long played right. We also don't have any goal threat from midfield yet continue to play Davis in that position. The one game I've seen us and thought we looked really dangerous was away at Chelsea with Long up front and Mane behind him. It worked but Koeman immediately went back to Pelle and it has cost us. He's a good manager but not above criticism. If we are going to play Pelle every week then play to his strengths, buy some wingers who want to go past people to the byline and get crosses in that he can attack. If we don't want to play that way then don't start him, go with Long or even Mane up front -

Koeman's persistence with starting Pelle every week and playing the same way to him has cost us in the second half of the season. Pelle can do no wrong in Ronald's eyes it seems -
Very depressing that such a negative campaign has brought about these sort of results
-
He's a crap player, but for a mid table side like Stoke his 7 or 8 goals a season are pretty valuable
-
When you miss the chances like he did yesterday you realise extra training won't solve the problem. He'll be scoring similar chances like those every day in training, he just freezes when it matters
-
As it was today. Spurs were dire I thought, very little threat and boring to watch. But they are clinical up front which we aren't
-
He isn't "proper ****" but he is an abysmal finisher and playing him as an attacking midfielder that neither scores nor creates will not help us progress as a side. We have to get a bigger goal threat from the 3 attacking positions behind the centre forward. Mane is one, Rodriguez will be another and then hopefully Vilhenna will give us something more next season. Davis will still have a role, particularly with European games next season likely, but his days as a first choice player are hopefully over
-
Steven Davis, not for the first time, costs us the game. An attacking midfielder that can't score and doesn't assist is an oxymoron and yet he gets picked week after week, missing chances, and then we get the post match interview saying we have to take our chances...
-
He's been let down by Steven Davis, as have the rest of the team
-
It's unacceptable. We will lose this game now
-
Were you at that game? There was a great atmosphere at first, we had a penalty shout in the first minute that had it been on Sterling in front of the kop would have been given, we had another definite penalty shout turned down and were much the better team in the first half. We lost because Coutinho scored a wonder goal and they were then able to get everyone behind the ball and play on the break. The 'negative' atmosphere had nothing to with us losing and I'd argue in fact it helped us dominate the first half and with a bit of luck going our way we would have got more out of it. And by luck I really mean refereeing competence
-
I don't see any point giving him stick. It won't affect him or his team in the slightest
-
Completely disagree about Lallana. He hid the entire game and was totally anonymous. Lovren was all over the place as well, but that's probably due to him just being crap rather than the reaction to him. Some players thrive on getting stick, and some are so precious it gets to them. Lallana is certainly in the latter category and should be given dogs abuse every time he plays against us, not just because he's a ****, but because it affects his game
-
i just don't understand why he has to start every week, particularly when our best attacking performance of the last few months came at Chelsea with Long up front instead of him. He was dire today

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Verbal Kint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I think we learnt last summer that's exactly how big clubs do deals. The last thing they want is to go in against each other and set up a bidding war and drive the price up -

Well if Clyne has decided he wants to join Utd then there isn't much we can do about it, might as well negotiate a fee now so we can plan for replacements -

Similar to Shaw. Player has decided he wants to leave and where he wants to go to. We will have roughly agreed a headline fee (seems like it's about 20 million) and his agent will have already done his contract. The way of football now At 20 million I think we've done well. He's very good one on one defensively and has the pace to get himself out of trouble. But his attacking game is average IMO (only 2 assists all season despite being considered a very attacking fullback) and his crossing is not as good as many think. Very similar to Shaw actually and I've no doubt United fans in 12 months will be saying the same thing about him that they are about Shaw now. Good defensively, not up to much going forward -
They're a very strange bunch. Incredibly bitter about being seen as a 'long ball' team (why they care what others think is a bit of a mystery) and this was in spite of spending vast amounts of money under Pulis that didn't really get them very far. Their academy is not worth mentioning and as a result this right now is as good it gets for them, and the bitterness at seeing a similar sized club outperforming them in every way must be frustrating. Personally I can't stand Mark Hughes, the man moans at everything to the extent that I don't even bother listening to his post match views anymore as they're so unreliable. Done an decent job though and they're hard to beat
-
His teams really are tedious to watch. Gets results but puts you to sleep for 90 minutes despite having incredible talent in the team
