  1. I'm not one to read too much into stats as they can sometimes be misleading, but you can't look at the following from the bbc and not come to the conclusion that we were very unlucky to lose the game. Possession Southampton 77% Aston Villa 23% Shots Southampton 21 9 on target Aston Villa 6 3 on target That's as one sided a game the prem will see in a while. One of those games. Anyone suggesting otherwise is a troll
  2. I haven't been inaccurate about any of them. I don't agree about robben and Ribery. They are pacy wingers. The reason Giggs has changed is because he doesn't have any pace these days All those players had great success playing as 'pacy wide men'. The fact some of them now play slightly different roles doesn't change that. I'm not "dismissing" my club's formation and tactics, I'm simply pointing out there are different ways to be successful. Mourinho's early success at Chelsea was founded on duff and robben getting past defenders and getting crosses into drogba. Alex Ferguson had twenty years of success playing with wingers. Bayern, despite what you say, also DO play with wingers who like to go past players. You're simply wrong to think there is only one way. Football is cyclical and in a few years time you might see a new style of play emerging
  3. Yeah. That Ryan Giggs was rubbish. And Ronaldo when he was at United. And that Bale chap at spurs just got lucky when he was scoring hattricks against Inter Milan. And Theo Walcott has never taken the **** out of Barcelona before. And Arjen Robben has done nothing at Bayern Munich has he. And Ribery who isn't favourite to win the Ballon D'Or... I'm glad football learnt from all these failures and acknowledged that there is only one way to play football successfully
  4. It says on site that Barnsley does count...
  5. That's what you get from a long ball manager
  6. Do a search for #askharry Priceless
  7. i don't think it's that simple. There is an issue clearly in bringing in a player who is happy to be back up. On top of that, if the coaching staff think Targett could come through in the next couple of years then they won't want to block his path with a more experienced player on premier league wages. I think we all know for sure now that it has to be Clyne at left back and Chambers in at right back if Shaw is missing. I'd be surprised of fox ever played a premier league match for us again
  8. With the emergence of Townsend at Spurs and with Lamela waiting in the wings, i wouldn't be surprised if a club goes in for Aaron Lennon. He'd be a great addition. At 26 he's still at a good age and would add something different to our attack

    Fat Sam

Just to play devil's advocate, does it say quite a lot about the squads he built at both clubs that they were both relegated? And without Carroll they are likely to be in a relegation battle again this season
  10. Boruc Clyne Lovren Fonte Shaw Schneiderlin Davis J Rod Gaston Lallana Osvaldo
  11. i also agree. There will be games that suit Lambert more than Osvaldo but as things stand i'd start with Osvaldo and alternate between Ramirez and Davis in the role behind him. We just look a better team.
  12. Agree with this. Going forward i think i'd feel more comfortable with us picking one of Lambert/Osvaldo and one of Gaston/Davis to play in the hole behind them. Every time Davis is on the pitch i feel we look a better team collectively
  13. I don't think I've seen a better away performance against a top side from us in a very long time And Morgan's performance once again confirms to me he's the best central midfielder after Carrick in the league. Absolutely magnificent

  15. I've seen nothing yet to suggest he's a better player than Cork. In fact, his touch and passing are so bad that i think the only reason he is playing is because we spent 12 million on him
  16. That's what i don't quite understand about the whole "he isn't good enough for England" line. If he can do it against the best teams in the Premier League then he's perfectly capable of playing for England and competing against the likes of Ukraine
  17. ............Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw ....Wanyama Morgan ...JRod Lambert Lallana ...........Osvaldo Get a bit of movement and fluidity, which will only come with games, between the front four and they'll cause problems. It's lallana or gaston at the moment and lallana has started the season well
  18. I think the vast majority would agree. The worry is that Shaw has tweeted to say he's fully fit and Clyne played 90 mins at Barnsley and there no signs of an injury either. So why were they on the bench...?
  19. It's man city, when the pockets are that deep it really doesn't matter sadly
  20. Musical instruments do not belong at football grounds. The only fans that have them are ones that are incapable of creating an atmosphere by themselves
  21. Something we should be proud of
  22. I thought towards the end of last season Lambert looked bloody shattered. He has to do a huge amount of work up front on his own and i think we need somebody else to take some of the load off his shoulders, and Lambert is a clever enough player for us to play the two of them together at times as well. We tweaked formations regularly last season and don't see why we won't do the same this season. And that doesn't account for injuries either
  23. Absolutely no chance. They're his team and if he had the chance to finish his career there he would jump at it. And after everything he has done for us i don't think we should stand in his way either if that situation presented itself, which is extremely unlikely anyway
  24. I don't disagree, I was just answering Alpine's question and offering an opinion on why he is preferred to Sharp. Like many others, I think we need to buy a CF and hopefully get a season long loan sorted out for Mayuka
