Mayuka has a bit of pace and is able to stretch teams late on in games, particularly when we're under a bit of pressure and we need an outlet ball. He will run the channels and his pace means he is capable of beating a player. He changed the game last season against Spurs for example. Sharp hasn't shown any attributes at all to make me think he would be an asset in the Prem. Not convinced Mayuka is the answer but he has more to offer than Sharp I think

It is better than last year just on the basis it has more white in it. But that isn't saying much. The red shorts just make everything worse
-
Bloody funny. They've been led to believe the whole point of getting into bed with a property developer was on the understanding they would get a new and improved Fratton Park as a result And they end up with a food court LOL
-
This. With black shorts and white socks it wouldn't be too awful but with all red shorts and socks it will look ****e, just as last year's did. And yet people will still queue up for it...
-
For those who have seen him play a bit more than the rest of us, is he ready to be challenging for the right back slot with Clyne next season? I assume he is now seen as a right back rather than a midfielder...

this lot seem to think they know who is involved http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1832473&page=22

Love this. It's basically a modernised version of the Rank Xerox kit. Would set us apart from any other club as well. But we all know we'll end up with a plain red shirt, shorts and socks and therefore look identical to Liverpool and Cardiff....
-
As things stand then yes. But who knows how their squads will look come August. Wouldn't surprise if palace get zaha for another season on loan
-
This. I was in Manchester watching with some united fans and they all commented on how it was a sign of how far they have fallen when they are celebrating finishing fourth. Pathetic for a club like Arsenal to behave like that
-
An improvement on this year's monstrosity. I just hope we drop the red shorts as well. The all red shirt is bad enough but the red shorts and socks as well was the real icing on the cake this year in terms of awfulness

1) Chelsea - Strongest squad once they've spent even more money this summer and players will love Mourinho 2) United - Moyes is a good appointment and will do well but they overachieved this year with that squad 3) City - Players just don't seem to have the desire there anymore 4) Arsenal - looks as if they are finally going to spend big this summer 5) Liverpool - Rodgers is slowly making progress 6) Spurs - a one man team. Without bale they'd have been mid table this season and I think he'll leave 7) Saints - we'll spend big this summer Everton - think they'll lose a few big players which will see them slip 9) Newcastle - Europe hurt them this year and think they'll be stronger next year 10) Aston Villa - think they'll keep Benteke and they'll be better with a year's experience behind them 11) West Ham - solid 12) Swansea - there aren't enough funds there to push them much further, and Europe will have an effect 13) Norwich 14) Cardiff - think they'll spend a bit and Mackay is a very good manager 15) Sunderland - will start badly. Di Canio gone by October 16) Stoke - new manager will try and get them playing football. Which is a recipe for disaster with that squad 17) West Brom - can see next year being a struggle for them 18) Fulham - ageing team. Think Jol will leave and poyet will replace him. Any injury to Berbatov and they could be in big trouble 19) Palace/Watford - cant see either spending enough but they each have 1 or 2 players who could make an impact unlike.... 20) Hull - need to spend 30 million+ just to have a chance. Doubt they will spend that
-
Who cares what he's worth? He's just signed a new long term contract and we should only be selling him for silly money i.e. 20 million + If other clubs don't want to pay it then that's fine by us
-
What a sad state the game is coming to when chairmen are asked for autographs...
-
I thought he was a regular this season before picking up a bad injury a couple of months ago? His wages would be enormous. Too much for us surely? I'd be a it concerned if we started buying players like him as you know they would be on 100k+ a week
-
Don't see why a player who is first choice at a very big club like Hamburg would want to join us to be a squad player
-
Fletcher, Cahill, Jaaskelainen, Seb Larsson, Begovic, jagielka, Crouch...
-
That you're completely spineless
-
that's surprising...
-
The odds on us being in that position on Sunday night are 85/1 with William Hill. Yet you think a quote of 33/1 for relegation is "ridiculous"..........
-
Me too. Overrated on this forum I think

What an interesting summer we are in for...

It isn't that simple. If Man Utd are interested in a player, it's 99.9% likely that player will be desperate to sign for them. With the quality of player we are targeting, relative to our standing in the premier league, quality players won't sign for us instantly at the start of June. They want to take time weighing up their options and seeing if other clubs come in for them. Nothing wrong with them thinking that way and it means at times we have to be patient and play a waiting game -
Were you born a loser? What an unbelievable mentality Writing off a game against a team below us in the table. ****ing hell, they aren't Bayern Munich. Sunderland will be favourites with home advantage but it isn't a game to be writing off
-
It won't stifle his development. It will improve him playing with better players and having to work harder for his place. And it will allow us to not have to rely on a young lad week in week out
-
1) there are plenty of left backs better than Danny ****ing fox 2) why should we sign someone who isn't as good as shaw? 3) why won't he be able to challenge for a first team place? It's a squad game these days and we need 20-25 players who are good enough. Currently we have about 14/15
-
Paul Merson said there's no chance he'll be with us next season so it must be gospel that he's leaving...
