Hoe difficult do people think it will be to get away tickets next year? Bigger allocations but i'm expecting demand to be high. Will you need to be a season ticket holder to get a ticket for away games or will we revert to having poor away followings as we did before we were relegated from the prem and all games reach general sale?

Terry shouldn't be in the squad. He's proven himself to be a liability in big games and the race issue is a serious one. I'd like to see some vision in the England team. It's time we dropped the 'golden generation' and started to build a team for the world cup and next euros. The current squad has had many chances and has disappointed every time. I'd like, at least, to see a midfield that focuses on technical ability as opposed to 'Premier League work hard but can't keep the ball' players. Surely there was a lesson to be learnt from the Germany defeat? It was embarrassing watching schweinsteiger take the **** out of Lampard and Barry. Unfortunately two of the brightest midfield prospects in the country (Wilkshire and Cleverley) have been injured all season as otherwise it would have been great experience for the two of them. Hart Walker Jones Smalling Baines Lennon Chamberlain Parker© Gerrard Young Rooney In an ideal world i wouldn't want Gerrard near the team either, but you need a coupleof experienced heads to help the others through. If Terry is in the squad i won't be watching, and i know plenty who feel the same way

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
Verbal Kint replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Schmeichel, Clyne, Chester, Vicente, Butterfield, Rodriguez. Apart from Vicente, all are young hungry players with great potential and seem to fit the right profile. Clyne, Butterfield and Vicente are all out of contract in the summer too -
It will be great to 'welcome' him back after all these years...

What a loser you are. Don't be such a soft, pathetic fanny. You must have a big inferiority complex
-
You just don't get it do you? The vast majority of Southampton fans do not give a ***** how we, as supporters, are viewed by others. We don't have this weird complex like you, Turkish and Griffo do where all you care about is that we aren't seen as a 'laughing stock'. I personally think it's embarrassing that you care what a Bournemouth fan thinks. A club that could never dream of taking the sort of numbers we have taken this season to away games. I've never met a single saints fan that believes us to be a massive club or have the 'best fans in the world', we're just normal football fans doing our best to support our team. I was at Boro, not in fancy dress as it's not really my sort of thing, but we had the best part of 3k fans travelling to the other end of the country cheering the saints on. That is all that matters. Grow up and start worrying about things that are slightly more important in life as opposed to getting 'embarrassed' when someone wears a wig to a football match for god's sake.

As others have said, it was disgusting. Refs have a hard job sometimes and i think we can all accept innocent mistakes but yesterday wasn't that. He gave the foul, the only decision to make was a straight red or second yellow, but he choked. Spineless, gutless performance from a ref who didn't have the mental toughness to make a big decision when he needed to.. Any other player he would have booked him. If the teams were reversed he would have booked him. A true 'homer' decision which had a massive impact on the result, despite what some posters have claimed
-
I was under the impression he was out of contract this summer in which case the fee would be decided by a tribunal... I think he has huge potential, and is the sort of midfielder we should look at. I've seen plenty of people suggesting defensive midfielders and i can't understand why. In Schneiderlin we have a TOP player who will thrive in the Premier League in that position. What we will need is a more attacking minded player alongside him, one which is capable of getting in the box and scoring a few goals. Butterfield fits the bill, as well as being young and potentially for a good price if he is out of contract this summer.
-
Why do you care so much?
-
Why don't you, Turkish and Griffo get together a list of acceptable chants for all saints fans to look at? The mods can make it a sticky and the three of you can keep us updated on what is and isn't acceptable

Vicente M. Phillips Clyne

You get a much better idea of how things are if you look at the performances. We were poor at Blackpool, who tactically got the better of us that day. It was a terrible pitch and without Lambert we weren't able to go direct, whereas Blackpool with 2 pacey and skillful wingers were able to get in behind us early rather than trusting a bobbling pitch. Even then if Sharp had scored the penalty it would have been a different game and we still did manage to create chances. Pompey was very simple. We were by far the better side, the only reason we didn't win is because of two wonder goals. Crystal Palace was one of the most assured, confident and controlled displays of the season, without being flashy, and everyone who watched the Reading game knows that if our finishing had been at it's normal level we would have won the game. 4 points from 12 hasn't been great, but there has been very little wrong with the performances, and very little to suggest we aren't coping with the pressure
-
This. But none of them will want to discuss that because it is yet more proof that race horses (that are only alive because of races like this) do in fact enjoy jumping and racing...
-
I can't believe this thread. I have yet to see a better central midfielder in the league than Schneiderlin. He is pure class and runs the midfield regularly. Him being out is a massive blow, but the the captain now has to step up to the plate. What we miss is a player alongside him to give us a bit more goal threat from midfield. I like Cork but he isn't getting forward enough for me

Borrow, Borrow, Borrow, Your FA cup was ****ing hollow All that money you took, from those bent foreign crooks And now your club is sat on death row
-
Bashley, you'll never beat Bashley... (In response to the inevitable "**** all, you've never won **** all")
-
That's how i see it. They are bang in form, but it's very difficult to see them getting 6 or 7 wins out of their remaining 9 games, which is what i think they'll need. Would love it to be them and us though, as i have great admiration for Brian McDermot. Great manager and seems a great guy as well
-
I like him. It's perfectly clear he isn't intelligent but i always find him very honest and he isn't afraid to say some thing slightly controversial even if it might cause a reaction. The show is all about seeing the scores come in and enjoying the obvious camaraderie the pundits have with each other. Getting upset because one of them can't pronounce a player's surname properly is just a bit lame...
-
Ridiculous comparison! I'd say Michael Carrick is the best comparison. A great passer, a good engine and he's added the physical edge to his game now. He just gets better and better and he's still only 21! He will flourish in the premier league when he has the chance to play there. Still needs to try and add the killer through ball a bit more but as a holding midfielder i wouldn't swap him for any in this league.

West ham would have won the league weeks ago....
Verbal Kint replied to terry hurlock's topic in The Saints
One of the most overrated players in the league. Scores a few goals as he plays as a second striker but has very little influence on a game. for 50k a week? No thanks -
Very much this. Cork has been playing most weeks recently as has Chaplow after a long lay off. They both put in a hell of a shift on saturday and Adkins probably thought we needed to freshen things up a bit. It's a squad game...
-
Yes! Why do you think players like Darren Bent have fetched the transfer fees he has? It certainly isn't his all round game, which isn't premier league class. But you give him a chance in front of goal and he scores. Danny Webber has never made it at the top level, probably because his finishing is absolute crap. If Leeds had had prefectly good goals disallowed, obvious penalty appeals turned away etc then you could say we were lucky. Otherwise, no. It was just a lack of ability that lost them the game
-
Some good saves from Davis agreed, but that's his job, as is the job of defenders to put the blocks in when needed. There was nothing lucky about our win on saturday. Leeds were abysmal in front of goal. The two headers where they hit the bar summed it up. Some call it bad luck, i call it a lack of ability on the night to score with pretty much free headers from 6 yards out...
-
Very simple really. Leeds players, particularly Webber, were not good enough to convert decent chances. We had one clear chance and we have players who can convert them. That's why we won
-
Don't think anyone has said he is ****, just that some haven't been totally convinced. At times this season he has been prone to the long ball too often, and as Chez has pointed out, is unwilling to venture too far forward because he doesn't have the pace to get back. He's got a great delivery on him which is what makes it even more frustrating that he doesn't get towards the byline where his crossing would be a huge threat from open play, as he did for Lallana's goal on saturday. I would have a guess that 80% of his assists have been from set pieces this season, and there is no doubt he can be a real threat from a dead ball situation. He doesn't like to get tight to wingers because he doesn't want them flying past him, but i think that is just sensible defending if you are aware of your limitations. I would like to think over the summer the coaches will try and get him as fit as humanly possible which will hopefully give him the confidence to get forward a bit more, which in turn will bring the best out of Lallana as it will create more space for him. He's a decent player but there is a lot of room for improvement, but you can't fault his committment or attitude.
