  1. Their support yesterday was a ****ing embarrassment. And they all know it
  2. How is it knee jerk when he has been awful all season? His kicking is appalling, he doesn't make big saves, he doesn't come off his line for crosses and he isn't particularly good at coming off his line to deal with through balls. What is he actually good at?
  3. I really hope rumours of his wage are not true and that the club are more than open to the idea of selling him this summer
  4. Their support was laughable bad today. They did not make a sound apart from to take the **** out of that. All of them sat their in their black north face jackets trying to look hard but without making a sound. At least we made some noise
  5. How do you know what we're paying him?
  6. I don't give him credit for it. It's a major weakness in him
  7. MP is obsessed with playing a high line at the back, and to play that way away at Anfield up against Mane is just mental. Got what he deserved
  8. Any other approach without VVD would be madness. Sit deep, defend well, be organised and take a chance when it comes. And if we do get in front then we have the perfect sub to come on and kill the game on the break. A massive occasion and I can't wait to see us playing at Wembley in a major final
  9. Massive clearout Out: Forster, Taylor, Targett, Martina, Gardos, Clasie, Reed (loan), Isgrove, Rodriguez/Austin, possibly JWP as well In: GK, CB, CM 3 or 4 players of real quality to come in (Maybe Caceres is one of them already) but the positions will be slightly dependent on the formation we want to go with. I'd keep Long as he is a great player to have when we want to play on the counter attack
  10. IMO Hojbjerg's best performance this season was away at United in the holding role once Romeu went off. Guardiola also saw him as a holding midfielder when we was at Bayern. I think with some more experience he could excel in that role, and right now playing him alongside Romeu in a 4231 is our best bet. Those two and Davis (a good squad player and can help close games out off the bench) are the only midfielders I'd keep. JWP and Clasie should go and Reed sent on loan

    Puel

I'm confident we won't go down. There are some really poor teams in this league and we only need a few wins. I knew after watching us struggle at home to Sunderland that Puel was ****, and nothing has changed my opinion. He should go whenever his replacement becomes available. Reed and Wilson have a big summer coming up, after Reed claimed we had the best midfield options in the league he will now have to get rid of half of them if we want to progress. I doubt that will happen
  12. I'm holding out hope Koeman and Everton are stupid enough to come in for him this summer. Anything over what we paid for him should be taken. He's a very poor keeper
  13. How can anyone call Puel an excellent manager? Seriously? It's perfectly valid to think recruitment might have had a bigger impact on our poor season than the manager, but he has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he is "excellent". Nothing
  14. This. He's a good player to have in the squad but shouldn't be first choice any more. The midfield needs a HUGE overhaul in the summer IMO, as that is where we have been weak all season. Reed should spend a season on loan somewhere playing week in week out, Clasie should be sold and I think JWP should go as well. We need some pace and power in there. Forster has been abysmal all season. A dreadful keeper. I just hope Hassen was bought in to genuinely challenge him and not just be back up whilst McCarthy is injured
  15. And another was Jordi Amat.... I can only assume our long term targets weren't available and that VVD's injury isn't serious
  16. ..................Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand ...........Hojbjerg Romeu ....Redmond Boufal Gabbiadini ...............Rodriguez
  17. We are setting out to try and control games, not to win them. We need to start playing 4231 with Boufal central, sacrifice one of our pointless midfielders and actually pose a direct threat to teams. If he wants to play with 3 in midfield and play on the break then fine, but against the likes of Swansea we have pick a more ambitious side. The only positive was Boufal. Outstanding player
  18. I'd hope it was a more immediate replacement for Forster, but you're probably right
  19. I didn't think we were great to be honest, it was game of poor quality and Leicester were absolutely dreadful. Their diamond in the first half played into our hands as Redmond and Tadic particularly had so much time and space to pick out passes. We left ourselves open to a counter attack though through giving the ball away on a lot of occasions and better sides would have punished us. JWP was cowardly with the ball as usual up until he scored, but the goal gave him a massive lift and he was much better afterwards, he even took a player on and beat him at one point! And that all came from him getting into a decent position and having a shot first time. I thought it took a slight deflection off the defender but it doesn't matter if it did or not, when you shoot from distance you give yourself a chance to get lucky. If he can be braver on the ball in the final third he could develop into a good player, but we've been saying that for a long time now. Hojbjerg had a good game but his finishing is as bad as the rest of the team as we really could and should have had more goals. Puel introduced Long at just the right time as he's such a great player to have when playing on the counter attack and that helped us kill the game. After the cup games are out of the way I really hope Jay is given a good run as I still think he could be a really good striker for us, but he needs regular games to get some rhythm. Not a great performance but we did create chances and the win will help with confidence levels. Yoshida had a very solid game and I really hope we don't make a panic signing to replace Fonte. Let him, Gardos (he has had some good games for us before his injury where he showed promise) and Stephens show what they're capable of and reassess in the summer when first choice targets are more likely to be available and for the right price. How poor were Leicester?
  20. Ridiculously expensive and is exactly the sort of panic signing I hope we avoid
  21. Was he greedy when he moved to us from Palace for a pay rise?
  22. It's fairly obvious VVD will be replaced in the summer when he's sold. Obvious to everyone. Will Fonte be replaced in this window? Maybe not (although my gut feeling is we will) but I have no issue with them giving Gardos and Stephens a chance to prove themselves and if they aren't up to it then we will get another CB to replace Fonte in the summer. Not ideal bringing in 2 CB in one window, but there you go, you just get on with it
  23. Players do not go on forever and this season Fonte has been fairly average. I think 9 million and the saving on wages is a brilliant deal and will enable us to invest in a younger long term prospect either now or in the summer. Fonte has been a great player for us but has clearly wanted out for some time now. Good luck to him, I'm glad we're getting a good fee for him and it's the right time to sell
  24. Not re-writing history at all. He was a very important player for us a couple of years ago, he isn't anymore.
  25. He isn't one of our top players. He's not even the best in his position at the club. Been a great player for us but it's obviously correct to sell him for the fee being quoted considering his age and willingness to move on. The transfer fee combined with the money saved on his fairly large wages can be put to better use. Good luck to him, he's been wanting this for a while (he hired Mendes to make him as much money as possible for the rest of his career)
