  1. I do agree Crazy Diamond that the BBC have done a much better job than the road crash that was ITV's 'The Championship'. I also believe that the show will be a loss. That said I think if the rights drop as a result a Free to Air broadcaster will pick it up and hopefully do a good job.
  2. Matt Phillips for Puncheon + Cash was the one on the Football Rumours site that intrested me. Holloway rated Puncheon and we coverted Phillips before. To that end if Puncehon could moderate, we could forgive and his return not affect the team morale then he would be a good 'signing' for us.
  3. If we match our own form from the first half, we will likely be.
  4. I am no expert but the wireless thermostat is usually a paired unit. You have a sender unit that's signal is received by a base unit. When the temperature in the room where the sender unit is below the level you have set the sender notifies base unit. This base unit produces the 'call for heat', effectively switiching the boiler on (assuming the boiler is on constant or in a required time period).
  5. There are quite a few Saffer shops in London and surrounding counties. The one I use is in Maidenhead. Presuming that is the South African Castle Lager you mean.
  6. From memory the Italian Football deal coincided with Gazza's move to Lazio. The rights would have appeared good value for what at the time was seen as the #1 league in the world. The Football League has a small albeit hardcore following, but because of competition against the media machine that is the EPL and no market for the FL internationally it's best hope is to be carried at a 'fair' rate by Sky or ESPN. To bring it back to the thread, I believe the BBC (by winning the rights) defacto paid over the odds.
  7. As long as we don't match their financial results I think we will be ok.
  8. If the show was such a ratings winner (commecial success) why did one of ITV, C4 or Five not pick up the rights? That's right folks, it wasn't worth what the BBC paid for it.
  9. I am sure I read the West Ham were in the hock for £80m. Their current wage bill should be covered by their good attendances and merchandising + £16m parachute. Funding a £80m debt won't be cheap in the current climate so I would imagine that although Sam can bring players in he will have to move others on. However, this is football so all financial and commercial logic goes out of the window!
  10. I think Fonte is a clever defender who reads the game very well. In League One he looked a class above, in the Championship he has had a few wobbles in the few games I have seen. That said the partnership with Hooiveld has grown in strength game by game.
  11. Crab Lungs "Dear Bucket Rattlers" from memory.
  12. Cracking news. Saints retain key talent of Lambert, Lallana, Fonte, Hooiveld, Schneiderlin and Cork. Add in the decent length deals for Chaplow, Hammond, Harding and Barnard and we have a really stable squad for next 2-3 years.
  13. Being discussed on main board
  14. He will say that he has always been a big fan of our at the first press call.
  15. Please keep it civil. I've removed a few posts that were the usual inter-poster bickering that added nothing to the thread.
  16. Rickie had been busy!
  17. If it was Lambert just think of the forward line-up Winchester nick could have next year alongside Barney.
  18. I've edited the title to make it a little more meaningful on thread list and prevent duplicates, I am sure if true this will be a hot topic tomorrow.
  19. In the normal world, people do leave companies and some even for a career change. Good luck Mr Hudson. That said, it would be nice if PFC [insert current or future entity] Ltd would return to their stable profession of being a 3rd / 4th tier football team in the very near future.
  20. Good to see THEVMAN continues his record of being one of the very few who are ITK http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?34545-Crystal-Palace-build-up-thread&p=1217760#post1217760 He also posted that De Ridder would start on the right.
  21. Tend to agree, I think he has been ok at this level. From memory it is Arsenal, not us, who have history with him. Seem to recall having a similar thread pre the Brighton home game, and he turned out ok (for us)
  22. For those interested the relevant FL regulation is 12.3 http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20110629/section-3-the-league_2293633_2125717#12 I think it likely that CSI would not be considered a group undertaking. Although the recognised definition of this is taken from section 259 of The Companies Act 1985 In this Part "group undertaking", in relation to an undertaking, means an undertaking which is— (a) a parent undertaking or subsidiary undertaking of that undertaking, or (b) a subsidiary undertaking of any parent undertaking of that undertaking. Glad that's clear
  23. I was chatting to a Partner at BDO the other night, a life long Saints fan. Hopefully he's one of many at the firm. I am a little bit concerned for Ho, when his club dies who else will read his moronic posts? We should think of ourselves on here as care in the community.
  24. Taking the **** out of Mental illness and trotting a term that although perfectly fine in the 70's and 80's but are now considered very offensive, doesn't make for a great long term thread. I appreciate this is the Muppet Show and no doubt all will throw up their hands but it is a term that has the possibility to offend. I note the YouTube Clip used the phrase 'Urban Legend', not sure how long the 'P' word would have lastedon that site.
  25. Manager kept him on....
