  1. One of my uncles was on the wrong end of a divorce when his wife of 15 years ran off with a female colleague. Naturally it left him utterly devastated, but not quite as confused as my cousin Lee. (Sadly i've not heard from him for years, I hope he's doing well for himself.) As I understand it my 'dear' aunty was adamant, absolutely adamant that she was simply following her heart. Claiming that she had found her soulmate and that gender was almost irrelevant. It begs the question of whether love can cross all boundaries, even those of gender in people who up until that point in time had identified themselves as hetrosexual. Either that or it could just be a whole 'trying to conform despite your own nature and not being able to repress it anymore' type deal.
  2. I was once told by an elderly chap in my local in Coventry that if you so much as stood in the same room as a homosexual you could 'catch' their sexual orientation. I think he was trying to come on to me.
  3. I predict there will be 90 minutes of football (excluding extra time) at Hartlepool.
  4. Still sounds better then 'pompey fan on a string.' It was embarrassing going to away games with idiots singing that just a few seats away.
  5. I could make a serious addition to the thread, somehow though I think it may be missing the point.
  6. Was going but sadly the re-arrangement makes it impossible. Swapped the tickets for Walsall away instead, a bit closer for a midweek.
  7. Oh for pities sake, not this again. Rallyboy, great post.
  8. I have Islamic neighbours. They are peaceful, kind and courteous. Like with all religions, it's not the religion that's the problem it's the extremes that some people can interpret them. Let us no forget either that Christianity and Islam share common heritage, Jesus is a prophet in their faith and it explicitly states in the Koran that the closest friend of the Muslim is the 'Christian.' Just 100 years ago in this country women didn't even have the right to vote. Less then 15 years ago, bloody civil war was taking place within our own nation on the basis of subtle secular differences. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
  9. I believe they are both one year specials. Next year there will be new designs with a sponsor and our regular logo.
  10. Just checked and there seems to be a residential estate a few meters behind were the pitch finishes.
  11. Don't they have a rather inconveniently located railway line behind it?
  12. Wolverhampton Wanderers
  13. Barcelona at the moment are one of the best club teams the world has ever seen. Even they have off days though, as proven at the weekend when they were frankly terrible away to Sporting Gijon. They had an off day and still collected a point. Their superiority in depth and squad allowed them resource to pull on when they needed it. The better team that wasn't playing to it's best managed to salvage a point. I accept your point that it may be lazy to use a cliché to make a point. But I am sticking to my guns, they have become so tired and overused because they are based on a fundamental truth.
  14. Let him jump, clean up the mess (if he misses the river) re-open and be done with it.
  15. Well, he hasn't scored a free kick since Bournemouth in August.... and even that was deflected. It was time to try something new.
  16. I'm not mocking, I genuinely am suffering from Tikka withdrawl. It's a serious problem.
  17. Wrong you're all wrong. If I have a Curry the night before a game we lose. It's a bloody pity, I love a chicken madras.
  18. Oh no they are not. Winning but certainly not well. Clichés become so by being well used. There is truth in them.
  19. Then it shows a rift is still present. A different collective giving the award is nice, as I said before he deserves the plaudit. Yet it would not carry the same weight or peaceful intent which I for one am wishing for.
  20. I dissagree, It does matter what authority gave him the award? Yes, he is unquestionably worthy but it says a lot if the club gave it as it would show that all of the media and ex player rhetoric would be utter tripe. The start of mending bridges? Or a missed opportunity?
  21. True. A win is a win though, can we really be that picky down in league 1?
  22. The sign of a good team is when you play badly and win. We did that. Onwards and upwards.
  23. Would like to know exactly what was said to be fair. Hope everyone that went had a good time.
  24. He is and has every right to. How the f**k is he meant to bring in the best players for us if we end up with a reputation for being ars*h*le fans.
  25. Health and Safety may play a part, i'm not an expert but surely removing a roof/adding steel work to an existing structure would require the tenants within to find alternative arrangements before completion.
