In Holland for work at the moment, general concencious over here is that De Boer is the better manager, talk in this mornings Dutch press that the delay maybe because Lazio are also talking with Koeman. "our ability to service it" No debt would mean paying higher tax on profits, sustaining debt means we can (to a certain extent) have better control over the tax we pay back, allowing that money that would have gone on taxes to be re-invested into the football club

I agree with the sentiment but Luke is being paid £100,000 a week, where is he going to earn £100k a week after football? When the opportunity to earn that kind of money is available, players will take it. I think the term "it's a short career" is more around the fact that the window to earn massive money is relatively small. Most players do retrain after their career and try their hands at other professions, most have the opportunity to do so because they have the money behind them to do so.

Looks like a career threatening injury, brings the transfer argument back into focus. You can understand why players decided to leave when big wages are on the table, when a tackle like this could end your career

I think it was more a 5 - 6 weeks before he's back in training, being match fit obviously quiet a bit longer Normally it's a case of waiting to see how it reacts with rest, if it doesn't heal as expected then it's surgery. I'm sure surgery was the last resort.

I don't get this ideologistic view that transfer spend has any relativity to success on the pitch! Comparing transfer spend is like comparing houses prices in Scotland to those in central London! It's a false economy, The mentality that you can buy success is ruining football and contributing to the ridiculous fees and wages we're seeing! Arsenal have it right in my eyes, but only if it'll improve your squad! The fact we haven't over spent should be seen as a positive!
