Ron, I was trying to keep it as balanced as possible to keep it in perspective, I wasnt calling him a liar, but at the moment can we be fully confident this was an isolated incident? I totally understand your point about personal gain, and that he could earn more going to a big club rather than making small money at a small club and subsidising with bets The point i was trying to make was, as a leader and a hero of mine I always envisaged all the blood, sweat and tears he put into his game was because he loved Saints as much, if not more, than i did. Why I'm not questioning his undoubted loyalilty.. or indeed his love, and while this may sound contradicting, it does sadden me that he may of put that effort into the team not because of the reason I hoped, but because he was worried of losing 10k (for example) I know this 1 incident cant take away everything he gave us, but this investigation could open the flood gates. Of course, if it does turn out to be an isolated incident, it will eventually all be forgotten... however, at the moment, I do feel IMHO that its tainted him some what Dan

I agree. For me, this has shown him in a less than sincere light. Some will argue that after all he’s done for the club that he’s maybe entitled to take liberties, but for me he’s abused his position and that goes some way to diminish the faith I and so many installed in him. While I’m perfectly aware that placing a bet on winning a throw in is a relatively minor liberty to take, what’s to say he hadn’t been taking more in his time? When I saw Le Tiss play out of his skin I’d like to think it was because he was doing everything he could to win, rather than doing everything he could to prevent losing a bet. His persona was selfless; sacrificing what could have been a glittering career at a big club to stay and help us... our talisman. If we find out he wasn’t so selfless & was out for personal gain... will we all still see him in the same light? I am not so sure.

Unconvincing short-term loans - Trotmen unconvincing? Signing non-league players - we havent signed any!? ruined the club - cant ruin it much more than it was before he got in!!
-
haha top draw

Not a bad result at all, sounded like we gave them a good game, we'll take something from that and move on. Lets hope Murty isnt going to be out to long, we WILL need a replacement otherwise

Swindon 1 v Saints 0 Post-Match Reaction
Dan Johnson replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
further evidence of what we've known all along, the squads not good enough.... we're getting players in, but we can only get them in as quick as others are willing to sell... first 3 points likely to come on Saturday... -
Building a team that can compete in League 1, with League 1 players :-) This season is ALL about consolidation, mid table, gel together a good team from this summer and jan 2010s buys, hit the ground running in 2010/2011 season promotion... add to a strong squad over the 2011 close season challenge for plays offs/promotion 2011/2012 & 2012/2013 in prem by 2013/2014.... would do me :-)

I heard from a taxi driver, driving an unlicensed cab, that pardew was seen in the Norwich branch of tesco express, buying a pack of revels, a deep filled BLT & a bottle of iron bru... i'm pretty sure this means he's off!
-
can not believe we're putting pressure on the team after TWO games!! if this was our 10th game and we were still a drift I might share some of your concerns... we've played TWO games!
-
3-1 saints, think we might go 1-0 down as well and come back strong
-
Felt this was the case on saturday as well, choose to bang his hands against the ground in frustration rather than get up and track back, for a player playing in midfield its not good enough really. All the same, I rate Lallana and I as you am pretty sure its a fitness thing because he looked like the most unfit player on the pitch Saturday
-
Just 300... you lack ambition... ffs
-
I think the 1 thing that stood out for me on Saturday was the ATMOSPHERE! WOW, the Bobby Robson tribuate, when Le-Tissier walked past... a real togetherness at last, I felt like I could finally put the past 4 years in the past and move on. Dan Harding & Murty looked solid (even if Murty still has some way to go get fitness up) Lallana showed flashes of brilliance but was by far the most unfit player on the pitch! Not losing on Saturday and now signing Lambert will start to give the players a bit of a buzz... we're at the begining of exciting times and I think the crowd sensed that on Saturday... lets star building some real momentium!
-
Was this football related?
-
cant be bothered to register... but unsurprising! They've lost their best player, a proven goalscorer & for peanuts really...
-
very refreshing to hear on an OS...

MASSIVE SIGNING... in fact the biggest signing you could probably make as a league 1 club! I've just emailed my Bristol Rovers supporting mate, see what he has to sign... I think it'll be something along the lines of You bunch of C*#!s
