  1. The banter is all part of being a football fan IMHO... Those jokes are quiet good, I work in fareham so I get abuse all the time... I'm just soaking it up at the moment... it wont be long till I can get my own back
  2. will be at Burnley & Forest games
  3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We'll be punished regardless though? If the league was worried about clubs getting their deduction when they're pratically already down they should have moved the date to the middle of February... I cant see how they can say, seeing as we're past the cut of date, that the point deduction can apply this season... when the whole reason they've set that date is so it isnt!!! I cant remember the exact date of the top of my head but lets say March 24th, it should be... club goes into Admin pre march 24th... deduction implemented that season, after march 24th... next season... regardless of league placing!! If the league are so concerned with clubs "doing a leeds" then move the date to the middle of feb, either way, we're in a lose lose situation! *PS Legod, that wasnt a rant at you obviously, was aimed squarly at the "league"*
  4. double post
  5. I remember saying something very similair about the Championship.... we will walk this.... OH?!
  6. As the insolvency event occurred after The Football League’s deadline of the fourth Thursday in March, the points deduction will take effect either: 1. In the current season, if Southampton avoid relegation to League 1; or 2. Next season, if the club does not avoid relegation. We're down either way...
  7. I'm a season ticket holder and this will be my first away game of the season, as it will for all those that sit around me and have season tickets too...
  8. I'd put across the arguement that McGoldrick is still improving at just the same rate as James... Proof I think that if we manage to keep this team together we will have a good side. Gillet before his injury looked as though he's still improving, Lallana was a different player yesterday than in recent games.... Dont want to take that away from James, who in recent weeks, has improved drastically!
  9. made me chuckle.... GOOOOOD AFTERNOON SIR...
  10. I'd probably start watching Eastleigh & take some interest in AFC Southampton if it came about, but quiet simply, it would NEVER EVER be the same I cant even think about it
  11. Although we went down, the atmosphere we had in our relegation season at home to Norwich was for me just breathe taking. When Henri Camara scored that goal, the roof was lifted off St Marys... I remember getting goose pimples! beating Man Utd is always nice, I remember turning to my little brother when saints beat united 1-0 just before we took the corner, and telling him that now would be the perfect time to score, then beattie got his head on it :-) Also players playing for the shirt, I remember away at west ham when Beattie got the winner right towards the end of the game to win 1-0, and he just stood in the goal mouth screaming with delight... always nice to see passion from the players.
  12. Has to be the last game at the Dell. I also remember listening on the radio, when we stayed up on Goal Difference & Man City went down (I think) i cant remember what year that was?
  13. Had a simaliar problem on a plane a few months ago... I wasnt allowed out for a smoke mid flight, I shall not be flying again! Considering the state of the aviation industry, and the lack of people flying due to the credit crunch, you'd have thought this situation would have been resolved to ensure customers flew again!
  14. With a game in hand & Forest & Blackpool still to play, Surival is now very much in our own hands. Win the game in hand, & win against either Forest or Blackpool and we are above the respective club we beat. We need to match their results, staying in touching distance, but we're not fighting a losing battle... not just yet.
  15. Best thing i have read on this site for ages hahah Class
  16. Mandric has also kept the wage structure at a "Championship Level" and as a result Mandric has personally had to pump over 14m in the club to keep it afloat, he wouldnt have had that kind of commitment from our board so I have to agree with you. He could be classed as "great" if he was operating at league 1 level, but he's not... he's got a championship squad in league 1. No one can compare the kind of job he would of done here on the basis of the job he is now doing at leicester
  17. He is on about 13k a week if gossip is to be believed x
  18. We need his wages off the wage bill...
  19. As mention chaps, for me that's just my point of view, I can of course complete understand yours, and for what it’s worth I think Lowe needs to go ASAP. Most now blame Jan for the poor performances on the pitch, yet when we lose to teams like Forest or Doncaster, why is the hatred aimed at Lowe during the game, and not Jan, who ultimately is making the decisions? RON, I think the comparisons to infighting under other manager era's is a little unjust, I'm not saying Jan isn't out of his depth, but Strachan & co who you refer to had allot more to work with. Channon's Sideburns, I'm not sticking up for Lowe in anyway, so please don’t accuse me of being a Lowe Luvvie, I personally think he came back to try & bring financial stability to the club, by doing so he has gambled with the footballing side by taking a punt on Jan which hasn’t paid off. However I believe his sole intention was to stop us going into administration, which so far, he has managed all bit it at the cost of footballing results. Due to the deep financial trouble we were in though, maybe this was to be expected? You pay peanuts, you get monkeys? Weston Super Saint, Complete agree, the only good thing about this club at the moment is arguably the fans. When we start fighting against each other, the club has lost everything. I don’t rate Lowe, but I try and clarify why at times I stick up for him, so that those who are fundamentally against Lowe can maybe at least understand at times why there are still Lowe supports out there, and if that goes some way to stopping the infighting then I will continue to do that.
  20. I think in this case Nick is spot on. Many fans blind bitterness towards Lowe, lead them to believe he is the ONLY reason we are in the mess we're in... When he's not the ONLY reason. I'm also convinced that many are now so infatuated with removing Lowe, that they don’t care that these protests could be having a detrimental effect on the team, and by protesting against the team during matches if it contributes to us going down, they don’t really care any more... as long as it results in Lowe leaving. The infighting on Saturday proved that for me.
  21. I think you're right UM, I even think we were above Serie A, not sure if that was the year Juventus were in Serie B which would have effected the average as well i'm sure.

  23. We are not paying Rasiak or Johns wages though... Stern Johns contract is up at the end of the season and he is now at Bristol City till the end of the season... and he's been told he isnt getting a new contract, John will never play for this club again, as I expect, will be the same for Rasiak
  24. I think thats pretty much spot on... I've a feeling we will go on a bit of a run, there's always a team that makes a late surge for the play offs, wouldnt it be great if that was us. Even if we dont make it, keeping the majority of this squad together next season & we could be real contenders! We'd have changed the whole emphasis of the club then, from journeymen to young hungry, technically gifted footballers who would IMHO be able to hold there own in the premier league.... such is the difference in the style of football they'd come up against.
