  1. Personally, I'm starting to feel like Wimbledon fans must have done following the move to MK.The Club does not feel like the Club I watched for many years. The Club is disunited, and appears to have lost it's soul. I feel like a "customer" rather than a part of the fabric of the Club as I did before. Something has been lost upon the way, and I hope and prey that it can be recovered. It is now Southampton PLC, rather than Southampton Football Club............
  2. Mark Dennis for me.......
  3. Too late now. A ground between the cities I personally would be in favour of. Provided their end, became the away end when we were at home and visa versa. Problem is the majority of both sides of the divide would be against it. The rows would make the Pro Lowe/Anti Lowe arguements seem like childs play.........
  4. You make a great point. I've heard from a couple of guys, who haven't been much lately, saying they dont really miss it. One plays golf instead and one works overtime at work. Both have said althouh they'll attend the odd game, they wont return to week in week out support. Now obviously people can say, they are "fair weather" supporters and I do agree with that handle somewhat, however if we're not careful we will lose the causal supporter and be down to the hard core for good. It could take years to build the support back up..........
  5. Shilts was one of the top 3 English goalkeepers ever to have played the game. He was world class for us, week in week out. Antii was fantastic, but not as good as Shilts, in my opinion..........
  6. You make a great point. I've been thinking back over the last few years and some of the small teams that have stayed in this league. Stockport and Port Vale are 2 that spring to mind. I doubt if their wage bill was higher than ours and yet they stayed up for a few seasons, and used older pro's.They were Clubs a 10th the size of ours and yet they were able to play with senior pro's. This season is Blackpool's wage bill higher than ours, because they seem to have a few older players. Lowe seems content to turn us into another Crewe. What's the betting if we fall into League 1, the limit of his ambition will to become a financially stable League 1 Club.
  7. "Led to believe". By who, Lowe and his dwindling band of supporters? If JP is given 2 years, we'll be near the bottom of League 1 by then. He's out of his depth. The support of the team has been fantastic this season. Most other Clubs supporters would have turned on the team by now.........
  8. I've no problem with Wilde, Lowe or anyone recommending a youngish player to our scouts. There would be uproar if he started playing for Reading or Wolves having grown up in Wilde's back yard, so to speak. However it's the PR spin and the BBC headlines, whether signed on the pitch or not, that gets to me. I'm sure 100's of youngsters are signed short term by Football league Clubs, why do the people who run our Club have to make such a big fanfare about it.Looks like Wilde's trying to big himself up.
  9. There's an annoying red faced bloke sat in the directors box, who keeps shouting instructions out to Jan....
  10. There's not another club in CCC who would have employed JP.........
  11. I had to work until 5 yesterday, so couldn't make the game and watched on TV. Jon Goodman was prasing the Saints support and saying how they were getting behind the young lads. I feel our support has been fantastic this season and to get blamed whenever we lose at home is grating. Other clubs would have been in uproar had they had to endure Lowe/Wilde/Jan, and all the nonsense that goes with it...........
  12. Going into admin is a 10 point deduction. To receive your golden share from the Football League following admin, you have to have a CVA. The Taxman is opposing every CVA now, due to the "football creditors" rule. Without a CVA the league will impose a points deduction for the new company to receive the Golden Share (which enables them to compete in the league). In leeds case it was -15, in AFCB and Rotherham it was -17 because they had been in admin before and in Lutns case it was more due to other finacnial dealings. In our case it would proberly be -15 as per Leeds.
  13. What I find hard to fathom out is: whether at the Training ground or before the game, why was it nessacery to spell out the finacial situation to the players. Either they are extremely simple (surely it's common knowledge, we're in the ****e) or the finances are significantly worse then is being told. And why have they not met Lowe before? He's been at most games, what has he been doing, ignoring them? Why wait until the end of Oct to formally meet the players?
  14. Very good article from the big man, talking a lot of sense. I've no problem with having a role as he described, only thing is, if Rupert is doing it, he should come out and say, rather than trying to do it on the sly............
  15. According the the BBC Lowe was clarifying the position the Club was in. If that's the case surely in the dressing room before the game is not the time or the place? Also, surely it's a bit late doing it now, if any clarification was needed it should have been given weeks ago? Personally I think this shows how weak JP is
  16. So your saying 14 of the first team squad, and most of the reserves would be sold off? I dont buy that, yes the administrator would sell players and cheaply( exactly what Lowe is doing), however I cant recall another Club that has been made to sell 14 of its first team and most of the Res. One big difference is an administrator would be lookingfor investment ASAP, is Lowe?
  17. No need for the banks to employ the "chap with the dodgy voice" as Lowe's doing it for them.
  18. Why doesn't Lowe go the whole hog and loan out all our players earning more than £200 a week. We could get players from the non league to play for expenses, or for a few quid stuffed in their boots. We'll get relegated, the gate will fall below 10,000, but think of the money we'd save.
  19. Bit dissapointed his favourite quote isn't one of Lord Lowe's.........
  20. It would be a pretty boring forum if we're not allowed to speculate. We wouldn't be as bad under Pearson-Not allowed to have that view, as we have no proof. Jan is out of his depth-Not allowed to have that view because he's cheap. Lowe is messing up this Club-Not allowed to have that view, unless providing the name of a billionaire to take over. Wake up and smell the coffee, we are going down under a structure devised and promoted by Rupert Lowe and allowed to happen by Michael Wilde. How far do we have to fall before people will start to acknowledge that. If we're bottom of League 1 next season, will people still be praising Lowe and blaming Crouch?
  21. Would Leicester be at the top of League 1 if Jan was in charge?
  22. Pearson/Crouch.........
  23. Whilst not agreeing with you, I respect your views and the way you've put them over. If everybody on either side of the Lowe debate argued their case in similar vein then things would not get so heated. The problem is Lowe seems to bring out the extremes in everyone, myself included. The fanbase will never be united with him at the Club, or even as a shareholder. To move forward as a Club, we need a clean break from him, Wilde and Crouch. My opinion is that had Crouch remained in charge, that clean break would have been nearer than it is now..
  24. Why didn't Lowe sack him at the end of the relegation season then? Was that a mistake by Lowe?
  25. That's just not true. The 10 years following our cup win, we acheived League Placings, results, and star signings Lowe could only dream of. Had The Dell been able to fit 40,000 Lawrie wouls have filled it most weeks. The Club was more sucsessful, produced better youth players and played the nearest we'll ever get to "total football" long before Lowe put his snout in the trough........
