  1. Spot on I always felt Chris did a good job, but following Lawrie was always going to be impossible. Not many could have made a good a job of it though........
  2. David Armstrong
  3. There is no way we could not afford Pearson. Had Glenn Hoddle wanted the same money as Pearson Lowe would have appointed him. Lowe made his decision and history will judge him. Personally I suspect Leicester will be pushing for a play off place in the CCC next season. It would not surprise me if they went stright through to the Prem............
  4. If it was that important the football chairman would have been there..........
  5. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10787 States Stern's loan was until Jan. Has it been extended, is it going to be extended or were we misled in the first place?
  6. He soon moved D & G over and got in Pearson, will Lowe do the same? Or will his ego over his "total football revolution" get in the way?
  7. Had Leon Crouch got rid of Pearson appointed Jan and had a season like this, what would people be saying about him?
  8. Had Lowe been an unknown who took over the Club for this season, I suggest that the whole ground would be in uproar. 99.9% of people attending games would be calling for his head and would consider his new "total football" idea a complete and utter joke that is going to ruin the Club. How anyone can believe we're back on track, and that him and Wilde are the best thing for the future is beyond me. There is nothing that suggests either one of them can run a club without Premiership money. They have failed in the past and this season is heading that way. People say there is no alternative without investment, well I thought the same about Crouch/Pearson. There was no alternative without investment, as has been proved since. No investment, Lowe back, and things have got worse. The people who wanted Lowe back have had their wish, will they still think it was for the best when we're at Hartlepools next season?
  9. Scooby, Sundance and the like have their club back, me, I'm just numb.......
  10. Billy Davis couldn't work for Lowe, he'd end up chining him.........
  11. When I left the ground following the Sheff Utd game last season, I had genuine belief and hope that we'd turned the corner. I didn't think for one minute we'd be involved in a relegation struggle the next season. That is the point in time this season should be judged against.
  12. Some of the football we played in the play off season was very very good. Certainly better than we're seeing now. On our day we were the best side in the league, capable of taking any side apart. Now were just a bunch of kids who every other team will fancy bullying out of the game.Yes we pass the ball about nicely, but there's not one opposing Manager who'll not fancy his chances of 3 points when we play. There is no way we're tough enough mentally or phyiscally to do what we did at the end of last season. Point at WBA, then winning a tough home game to stay up. This league will swallow us up and spit us out, unless we toughen up, defend properly and realise the result is everything.
  13. Problem with the banks was if they failed then all whole of the economy would fail.If a major bank went bust, confidence would crash, causing major problems never seen before. The Govt had no option. Southampton Leisure, if it ceased to exist would be sad and devestate 15,000-20,000 people, however the wider economy would survive, and most of the population wouldn't give a toss.
  14. We are a PLC. When we were in the Premiership the shareholders/owners of the Club benefitted from share dividends, wages and the like. However when they mismange the Club, are you saying the Tax Payers should bail them out? In 1997 the choice was made to become a PLC, we made our bed and we're now laying in it...........
  15. Perhaps if Mr Lowe put as much % of his monthly wage into Saints that I do, then maybe I may pay for a game I cant attend. However, as I've said I pay £32.00 for memberships that are not really needed in this league so I'm certainly not going to buy 2 tickets for a game I cant make. Why should someone get a Man U ticket before me on the basis they've suddenly bought a Sheff Weds one?
  16. I've paid £32.00 for me and my nipper's memberships. I cant make the game Sat and you want me to pay for tickets anyway? As far as I'm concerned buying a membership when there isn't really a need to, is helping enough, without buying tickets for games I cant make.
  17. I was hoping to see a great pair of tits at Reading.......... but was told they weren't there..........
  18. In Scooby's dreams........
  19. Mark Wright and Killer
  20. The problem is the logistics of it, take someone like B&Q, they have thousends of lines and all the price labels will need changing(Unless they make the deductions at the till, which can only be a short term measure). It should be easier at Saints, however it really is peanuts. I suggest had the Club announced a grand sale last month , with all prices reduced by 2.5% they would have been laughed at. Personally, I've no problem with the Club keeping the extra 2.5%,but, no doubt if they do, there'll be another pro/anti Lowe 6 page debate.........
  21. Spot on, I cant believe some of the posts on this thread. It's really simple to understand, nobody has any legal duty to pass this on to the customers,The morale duty is another thing. I suggest that the major retailers will do so, due to the adverse publicity in not doing so. Whether Saints will, is a differant matter.......
  22. Great man, my all time hero. Cant believe he's 60, where have all the years gone?
  23. Why do you think he's not had a decent job in Holland? A world Cup finalist would open many doors and give him a head start over "run of the mill" players (like Pearson). If he was as wonderful as some seem to think, surely he would be sought after in Holland.
  24. He played in a World Cup Final for his home country, so he is obviously quite well known. To get to his age without getting a top flight job in that Country, must mean he's not that highly rated. Pearson was basically a "run of the mill" footballer competing with hundreds of similar players looking to get into Coaching. The time to compare Pearson is proberly when Pearson reaches the age Jan is now. Personally, I think Pearson will manage in the Premiership before he retires, can you honestly say the same about Jan?
  25. If he is such a good coach why was he not coaching in the top flight of his home Country? As a respected former national player, surely he would have had a head start in that respect. Did he also allude to that with a quote about how he is percieved in Holland, when he took up the job. One win doesn't change anything, the juries still out on him.
