  1. I don't think Wiseman was in any position to be a moral authority after being one of the direct beneficiaries of the Secure Retirement reverse takeover. Although at the time he wasn't to know the shares would ultimately become worthless in 2009.
  2. This is fact. Yet Lambert spent far more time whining at the ref through the game.
  3. Which is why I was singing "Come On You Saints".
  4. Is it likely to be a sit/stand where you like situation tomorrow night? Bought two tickets at lunchtime from SMS ticket office and was given Row D. I asked for higher up, but the guy at the window said he couldn't control what tickets were given out, which I didn't wholly understand. Row D is a bit too low for me.
  5. Jermaine Wright and Bradley Sh1te-Phillips, FFS!!!
  6. Completely agree with all of this. I also fear we will rue not selling Chamberlain last month.
  7. I could not believe he would always wear that white T-shirt no matter how freezing it was. Proper madness at times. I liked him a lot, genuine Saints guy.
  8. This is madness on Megson's part. McCarthy keeps being fined by West Ham for being too fat.
  9. Quite. The article in the Bournemouth Echo quotes Bradbury as saying that Cox has got some Championship clubs interested in taking him on loan, and he wants to play at the highest level possible. So he won't be joining Bournemouth. Or Saints.
  10. Why do you have to put Duncan's name in quotation marks? You really are an utter turd sometimes.
  11. He doesn't hate Southampton. Though he might hate Cortese.
  12. This is the article (apologies, it was actually after we beat them in the League Cup, not the League):- http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/8323869.Comment__Saints_chairman_can_t_see_the_big_picture/
  13. This guy Meldrum is actually a Saints fan; he wrote a long article in the Bournemouth Echo just after we beat them 2-0 in the League at SMS and didn't let photographers in, talking about how he used to stand on the terraces at The Dell as a Saints fan and support MLT, Shearer etc., but that under Cortese we had lost our soul. It was actually an article that did resonate with me to a degree. No idea whether it's mischievous garbage, one could easily imagine Mitchell would have encouraged it.
  14. Just heard this call of Mitchell's on the Solent sports news at 7.15 this morning. Rise above it, people, he just loves the publicity. I will admit the guy has done a very good job, but it's an example of how a transfer embargo imposed on a club (allied to having an outstanding young manager) can actually help a club, with the team spirit which gets generated from a small squad which pretty much picks itself every week.
  15. I think we do pretty well on Solent, to be fair. I remember the old days when they didn't have full match commentaries and all you had was a god-awful ditty when a goal was scored at one of the three games and you had to pray it was a Saints goal or a goal scored by the opponents of Cheats FC or AFCB. And the music they played was godawful. It's a million times better than that now.
  16. Think I was at that Crewe game. Re simultaneously quite good and incredibly crap, I would also suggest Carlton Palmer.
  17. It is possible in hindsight that we did stitch Reading up when they foolishly bought him from us. Which may explain why they wouldn't let us have Antonio back.
  18. This is fact. I liked him a lot. Think he set up THAT Rasiak goal in injury-time at Pride Park.
  19. This is undisputed fact, and makes me really wonder about Dave Jones, given that he signed him for two clubs. A genuinely shockingly inept "footballer".
  20. He did go from hero to zero pretty quick, mind. But admittedly an inspired signing by Jones for the season that he was good.
  21. I would have expected you to be a little more perceptive than that.
  22. Megson would do very well there, that would not be good for Saints. He was much maligned for actually doing a decent job at Bolton. He gets players running till they drop, bit like Strachan was with us. Plus he played for Sheff Wed so will probably be popular there. I'd far rather they went for a marquee appointment and got Big Ron back.
  23. Completely agree. Some of the cowardly bile aimed at Nick Illingsworth on his thread from people who have never met the bloke is a joke. The "I'm all right Jack" mentality is alive and kicking amongst Saints fans.
  24. Must have been very recent, he was still at West Ham when they lost to Birmingham in the Cup in midweek last week.
