Good point. There is also the issue of the 40 minutes of highlights every Saturday evening on SKY's Football First, I guess.
-
I'm fairly sure it was the same Bishops that sponsored Cheats FC.
-
Ah sorry, Taffmeister. Will reach for coat.

A Cheating Skate, who is with that perennial WAG Danielle Lloyd. No ta.

Nearly went to Newcastle in January for a salary of about £40,000 a week, if memory serves.

I believe he has a tattoo on his arm saying "DALE", in case we (or perhaps he himself) are unsure who he is. I seem to recall that most unhelpfully he wore long-sleeved shirts when playing for Saints (hiding said tattoo), so allied to his fairly anonymous performances for us, it would admittedly be fairly difficult to pick him out.

I want Clifford back, so that we can have Socrates in midfield and Romario up front.

I definitely see Leicester and Burnley being in the top six. I think Howe will have Burnley a stronger side next season. As well as them, I'd say Birmingham, Leeds, Reading or Swansea, and then any one out of Forest, West Ham and Saints. It's going to be a pretty competitive League.

But Connolly is an absolute class act, with Barnard injured he was our last hope last season and he came good big time. I think he is still a definite HCDAJFU, there aren't many players available as good as him.

Southampton vs Stockport County Coca-Cola Cup replay
Pat from Poole replied to Rory's topic in The Saints
Weirdly I went to the 2-2 away game but missed the replay at The Dell. The away game was a really good game actually, quality bundle in the away end for Egil's late equaliser. -
He is originally from near Bournemouth, I believe.

I thought the hapless drunk Burley sold Mills, along with all our other good young players.

Sensible move by Saints. Good work.

Rodney Marsh is a *****, but that is admittedly quite funny.

I wouldn't be so sure. If the man said that Tottenham was going to be his last job in club football, then you can be sure there will be another one to follow. I should imagine that Chelsea's plush training ground in Cobham is an easier drive than Spurs' training ground. Plus he has an ego the size of Dorset, and if the Russian wants to give him a megabucks salary, Spurs should be on the lookout for another manager.

All I know about Halford is that he has a Delap-type stupidly long throw.
-
Liam Lawrence would be an excellent signing. Two for the price of one; a player with a real presence in midfield, and the Cheats fans would be distraught.
-
I would be surprised if the season ticket numbers were greatly up on this season's number. There will still be very few games that would sell out (Cheats FC, Leeds, West Ham if they come down), so people won't need a season ticket to get in to the vast majority of games. I would still expect a lot of people to be picking and choosing the games they go to, there hasn't been a sudden upturn in the economy to make people feel more secure about their future financial well-being.

Williamson is a thug.
-
Agreed. Also did really well to avoid getting a 2-match ban last month, which could have been very costly.
-
Kevin Phillips wouldn't be the worst signing in the world.
-
Is Kevin McDonald the guy who got taken off in the first-half of a televised game last season and watched the second-half in the pub? That sounds a bit Puncheon-like to me.
-
Having bigger crowds than Cheats FC despite being in the league below. So when we're back above them, they will never be able to claim that we're plastics. That was the only thing keeping them positive in the early part of the last decade.

I thought Adkins was a poor choice, i was wrong
Pat from Poole replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I was wrong. I thought Adkins lacked the presence to inspire some of the more experienced members of the squad. However, they have all clearly been giving 100% for him. To see Lallana charging around harassing Plymouth players when we were 3-0 up was fantastic, and Fonte has been immense. There is a real unity within the squad, partly driven by winning, partly by Puncheon not being there maybe. Either way, Adkins has to take great credit for having them all "on the bus". Fair play to Adkins and Cortese, although the timing of Pardew leaving and us being in limbo before appointing Adkins could so easily have led to us being in the play-offs.
