Lowe agreed the deal to sign Rasiak on a salary of £10,000 a week plus, which set the bar for other obscene salaries for the likes of Davis, Skacel, Wright-Phillips etc.

Voice of reason.

Difficult to disagree with this. Burley left the team in a shambolic state. Unfit and hugely overpaid. Lowe is just unhinged.

I haven't been all season and haven't missed it at all. It's probably been less of a sacrifice given how poor the team are and the shambles of a board running the club being completely undeserving of any support. Depends on your circumstances, I guess, but being married with two kids, I've found plenty of other stuff to occupy my time. I still listen to most of the games on the radio (have to admit the coverage on Solent is superb) and retain a keen interest but doing this only takes up two hours on a Saturday, whereas the travelling from Poole, plus pre and post match beers meant that a home game used to take up pretty much all day for me. If I was single I'd probably still be going, to be honest.

Comedy. Enjoy Metallica tonight, by the way.

A bit of empathy and humility would have made a lot of people a lot more sympathetic towards him. He's just made things a lot worse though, and the fans should not take the flak for the fact that he is out of his depth. He should not be given any more time to further prove this.

If Wotte had any kind of credible record in football, then he might get a bit more leeway to start being critical of the fans. Strachan did it once or twice, but we was able to get away with it because he was so good for us and we could see how committed he had got the team. Wotte is just a joke, and should be ashamed of himself. Try actually winning a game before giving it the attitude, you turd.

Mick Dennis is, and always has been, an utter utter ****.

Fair play, from somebody who hasn't been all season. I am however convinced that Lowe looks on any seat in the ground filled as a believer in his grand vision. I completely refuse to give him any support. If he had at least given Pearson a chance it would have shown some humility, but the man is totally unhinged. He is the David Icke of football.

Nigel Pearson. Oh damn, Mandaric's got the better of Lowe yet again.

I can completely understand why you might refer to a stayaway like me as a plastic, but I think the stayaways will ultimately have a lot more influence in removing Lowe than a pitch invasion (which I beleive is what he wants to happen so that he can slag off the vocal minority etc.) My possibly erratic memory of that astonishing season in 93/94 is that it wasn't the admirable efforts of Chorley, MacMillan and Foley to arrange a public show of anger in the East Stand after the amazing Newcastle game that ultimately did for Branfoot. It was the crowd of 9,000 against Ipswich a month or two later that sealed it, but then maybe that's because at the time a significant proportion of the board were accountants. I take my hat off to those who continue to go to games. Lowe's mind is so warped that he'll probably think you're supporting him personally rather than the team though.

When I read posts like this which show how little respect the club have for long-standing fans, it is a miracle that the attendances are as high as they actually are.
-
Yup. When I hear we've lost it barely registers with me. I just feel sorry for those who are suffering watching the inevitability of relegation.
-
I completely agree.

Knock off a factor of 15/115 for VAT. Sorry, I'll stop being a pedant.
-
Nope, not bothered in the slightest.

I think you might be surprised. There will be a bigger crowd than usual, but you'll find United fans all over the ground, whereas in years gone by they weren't so evident in Saints areas.
-
I think it's pretty unlikely to sell out unless United are given about 8,000 tickets. It's bound to be on telly, a lot of people will be skint due to Christmas, and more crucially, a significant proportion of the fanbase have completely stopped going for reasons which have been discussed in length for much of the last four months, and a lot of them will not return. I'd expect a crowd of about 27,000. Before I am accused of being an unprincipled plastic, I've not been all season and will be giving this a miss.
-
It would either have to be a fairly dramatic protest, e.g. pitch invasions etc, but we don't tend to do that sort of thing, or a mass stayaway. Chanting at games won't achieve a lot, just an excuse to blame the "lunatic fringe". It is more likely that a continued drop in crowds will be effective eventually, but with 9,000 season ticket holders, it will be a while before the drop is that notable. We'll probably still get crowds of 13,000 - 14,000 as we stumble to League 1, doubt it will register that much with Lowe. Next season's ST renewals should be a lot lower.
-
Both amusing but also disturbingly probably very close to the truth.
-
We got bigger crowds a couple of years ago, think we averaged about 24,000 in our first season in the CCC. I suspect that quite a lot of the people who were vocally anti-Lowe in that time will now have stopped going. Best of luck though.
-
Agreed. Nick Illingsworth is so wrong in his endless rants. It's the stayaways who are holding the trump card.
-
Agreed. Pearson will clearly be a top manager, can't believe Lowe has let Mandaric get one over him yet again.

What a boring man you are. I bet you could empty a pub just by opening your mouth.
