Hoddle refused to contribute to MLT's testimonial programme, the only Saints manager of the 1990's and early part of this decade to do so. Even Branfoot contributed, FFS. He won't be coming back if MLT is chairman, more chance of us signing Torres.

To be honest, I think that if any other club in the country was going through the same, you'd be getting similarly large differences of opinion on a highly emotive scale. Ultimately, everybody on here cares about OUR club. It is not and never will be Michael Fialka's club.
-
I'm fairly sure he actually said it was one person.
-
Dare say he'd earn more working for SKY on Saturdays than being chairman of a League 1 club. He's not a moneygrabber in the Lowe mould.
-
Haven't seen a lot of comment about Leon in today's posts, but if you did make the exclusivity payment last month, thanks Leon, and I'm really sorry that it looks like you may also have been mislead. Not much consolation for losing £500K, mind.

I think that day is a bit of a sore subject for The9. Cost him a few bob over the odds to get in the ground, as I recall. But he was definitely there, yes.

This is a crucial period. Somebody needs to get some Army boys for a couple of weeks to get the players running up mountains for two solid weeks like Strachan used to do. Make them run until they vom. Otherwise they'll end up like they did under the useless Burley, unable to run in the last half-hour of matches.

Seems a rather odd situation for the financier and potential chairman to barely know each other, and rather begs the question, can we confident that they would have a harmonious working relationship? And I am one of those who very much wants MLT to be the chairman.

Nigel Pearson MLT's first choice?? where did that come from?
Pat from Poole replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
What a load of utter crap you talk, as usual. You really do know nothing about football. -
Does Mark Jackson live in Poole? Oh. Perhaps he can help to fund Poole Town's new ground at Branksome Rec then.

Such a shame that the review of MPs' expenses only goes back 4 years.
-
So they're ultimately allowed to welch on their debts without suffering any penalty of significance whatsoever. I can kind of see where Pinnacle are coming from now; more so on the Stockport case than the parent company argument, to be honest.
-
I cannot believe the FL would let us get away with it, precisely as the likes of Luton and Leeds will sue in double quick time.
-
So why didn't the deduction take effect next season?
-
OK. I apologise in advance for going back 2 months in time. I'm thick, but it somehow seems more relevant tonight. Why are Stockport not starting on minus 10 next season?
-
I've got to be honest, if I was a large venture capital fund, I don't think KK is the first person I would entrust to look after my funds. That said, I would have been very excited by him being our manager, though I fully accept this is not going to happen.
-
I think that realistically it's going to be a strong League this season and that our best chance of promotion may well have been 2010-11 with or without the 10-point penalty. I'd take the 10-point penalty, let Leeds,Charlton and Norwich get promoted, get a solid squad together to bond for a year and then really go for it in 12 months' time.
-
If we didn't have the 10 point deduction, we'd miss out on the party we'd have from getting back into positive points. It's a once in a lifetime celebration we'd be missing out on, peeps.

Saints 3 Newcastle 1 at the Dell in 1994/95 when we scored 3 in the last 5 minutes. Went up to Forest the previous Saturday and we were shocking and I couldn't bear seeing another hopeless performance. Stupid me. Have regularly been told the Dell was the noisiest it had ever been on that night. Partly down to a tannoy announcement to ask the Archers to sit down. Also Reading away last season. About the only game last season I would have wished to have been at. Sounded fantastic on the radio.
-
What's the situation with avoiding the additional 15 point deduction? Aren't we getting pretty close to the deadline for sorting out the agreed basis on repaying the preferential creditors?
-
Just utter tosh. You get a completely sensible reply from Scott to your trolling and you just can't help yourself. How was Lowe tantalisingly close to turning us around? Did he have a manager lined up last season who knew something about English football?
-
Norwich's ST base was not that high in the 90's or the early part of this decade. I'd suggest that they have actively targeted their local fanbase and encouraged them to come to games, as opposed to the attitude of Lowe in his sneering comments about fans and shutting parts of the ground.
-
If they were each on £1K a week, we'd be sad to lose them. Hugely overpaid relative to their "talents". If Wright-Phillips didn't have a famous footballing father, it is highly doubtful he would ever have played at a level above League 2.

MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment
Pat from Poole replied to Griffo's topic in The Saints
I have no affinity for the BBC, but Solent's coverage on Saints is superb.
