  2. That has to be worst ever, ever display. They should have been and still should be ashamed. Shocking. I had forgotten that match and how appalling it was before you mentioned it. Best left in the depths. Dark days indeed.
  3. I'll say it again but more clearly ... ... this all boll@cks! It's sad but Claus is off his head. I know the betting business inside out and this is absolute "carp". The bookies aren't daft. They don't offer markets that can be easily be manipulated for not only the obvious profit reasons but also for integrity, licensing and regulatory reasons. Most bookies are professional outfits and many are major plc's. The integrity of the sport they bet on is sacrosanct. The whole story is absolute nonsense.
  4. I don't believe this and think he is in fantasy land. There was an incident regarding first throw in at West Ham a number of years ago. The bookies then immediately stopped that market. They're not mugs and won't be mugged off like he is suggesting. He is an alcoholic trying to get some booze money from selling a story to the paper.
  5. Fair point. It would be money back in this situation. However if they do aviod lquidation what are their chances? Paper thin squad made up of kids, possible points deduction, asset stripping, etc. all points to relegation in my opinion.
  6. I see Coral's are the first to put out relegation odds ... initially 6/1 now slashed to 7/2. Lump on ... great bet. Apart a real value punt given the state they are in, think of the pleasure of winning as well!
  7. annoying that Reading are above us ...

    Bath

Not been to Bath for a while but great for a weekend. We stayed in the Hilton on a special deal - well located but a was looking tired. Some lovely little pubs in and around town. Plenty to see and do. Would recommend
  9. We all look back with rose tinted glasses at MLT but I remember he took a lot of stick for being slow and lazy from certain sections. In the early years, John Sydenham for constantly running in to the wall at either the Archers or Milton ends. Also what about the Russian winger, Cherednik?, he took some stick but to be fair he was useless!
  10. I remember as a lad paying 2/0 (10p) to get in to the milton. I did an evening echo paper round 6 nights a week and was paid 15/0 (75p) a week. About 42 years ago. Maybe someone could do today's comparisons? Oh by the way my first pint also cost 2/0 (10p) about the same time!
  11. Twas back in '78 ... "I was only joking" by Rod Stewart. Youthful humour, missus still didn't get it!
  12. Met him when he was a host at a corporate do. Seems a good guy. A real shortarse though!
  13. Always find firstratefx good value and very efficient
  14. Too early for Liverpool ... but if NA proves himself at prem level then I guess this would be his dream job. As for Villa, I think he would do a great job there but I really think they are after a bigger name. Chances of either ... slim. Bookies latest odds for NA for the Liverpool job are 50/1 and 20/1 for the Villa job.
  15. For me ... Newcastle - never been before and fancy a stay over and a good night out in town Arsenal - been a few times. Fabulous stadium and just want to see Saints run out there. WBA - enjoyed it last time around ... chance of 3 points, good Baltis and beer before and after
  16. I agree with you, Ken. In almost all spheres of management you expect standards of intellect, ability, leadership and professionalism. In football it seems that if you are part of the old boys club then there's a job. This guy is a joke. I do think our Nige is different though. Thoroughly professional in his approach and always upbeat.
  17. Mixed bag ... a couple of mornings at the Athletics ... mainly heats, good seats for the rowing final at Eton Dorney and football semi final at Wembley (hope GB make it and are drawn at Wembley but not sure venues are allocated?).
  18. Letsbee Avenue (Delia's address)
  19. Funnily enough I was thinking the opposite. I am eagerly awaiting the markets to be released on League One - I really think with no squad and possibility of further points deduction that they are a cracking bet for relegation (I think you get your money back if liquidated).
  20. He came on as an early sub against West Ham away and was very impressive. But that's the last time I've seen him do anything. I didn't want to post anything negative over a brilliant weekend but I couldn't believe the total lack of effort he demonstrated when he came on on Saturday, he didn't want the ball at all and hardly moved. Bizarre and a waste of talent.
  21. To be fair most people's weekend has been a alcoholic blur
  22. I was signing "Nigel is our king"?
  23. Back on the loo again ...
  24. Sorry haven't got a spare one ....
  25. All registered, no problem. This is important if you want tickets for the Champions League final in 2014.
