I was thinking about this the other day, and couldn't pick out one player who has done particularly well consistently. It's either Van Dijk (who I don't think has been that great) or Davis (who for a creative player doesn't score or assist) Tough one - the award is there for the taking in the second half of the season.
-
TBF though, this is the sort of player we should be going for, doesn't break the bank in wages either. It's a missed opportunity.

Confirmed: Caulker loan cancelled; Moves on loan to Liverpool
Saint Garrett replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
True...! He is f*cking sh!t though.....long ball hoofer, slow, cant tackle, cant read the flight of the ball, not particularly strong. -
If all players are "in form"... --------Forster Clyne Toby Lovren Shaw --Morgan Wanyama-- Mane Lallana Rodriguez -------Lambert---------- Steven Davis just misses out...tough one. Mane, Lallana and JRod running past Rickie as he drifts deeper.....Love it.

He's left..... -
Not convinced - not sure we have it in us to keep clean sheets and win to 0 this season. They're also very dangerous up top with Deeney and Ighalo. Should be a good game, they're a very good side this year.

Certrainly be an odd one, he's barely good enough to be a fourth choice CB for a team who's conceding goals, the bloke is absolutely terrible. -
He's not been that great - one of our best signings this summer but that doesn't say a lot. Wins a lot in the air, but has also got a mistake in him, nowhere near as good as Toby IMO.

Even if Swans didn't want Shelvey, If i supported them, I'd be ****ed off selling him to Newcastle who are a direct relegation rival, and he could win them a game. On his day he's a decent player, but tries the hollywood pass far too much.

Would people hypothetically pay more at the gates for more signings?
Saint Garrett replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
Makes no impact, lets say the club made an extra £1m from gates....it's not going to pay for any player to come here...! The club gets enough from other revenue streams. -
CM? He's 22, and our sort of signing.....lot of money, especially when Koeman has said we only need a ST....

Stek/Forster if fit Cedric Fonte VVD Bertrand Romeu Clasie Davis Mane Pelle Tadic

Would take a look at Jefferson Montero...certainly the sort of player we could do with
-
I'd take him depending on attitude and wages...
-
I think that is unlikely - unless we have to count Osvaldo's pay off in there all as wages? We have one of the lowest in the league...!
-
Why would Austin sign for anyone now, when he can pick up the signing on fee in the summer? Doesn't harm him unless he thinks he can score himself into the England set up - unlikely though seeing as though he wasn't given a chance last season!
-
Hesketh was such a weird one - started a game, was very eager but didnt look out of place in his small cameo, got injured and then has never been seen in the squad again....would have expected himj to be on the bench every now and again since.

FC Midtjylland 1 Saints 0 - Post Match reaction

I see that Man Utd fans are being charged £71 per ticket compared with our £22....! Sucks being a big club eh! -
I could do that tbf

Cant be much worse than Martina and Cedric at RB, wouldn't be the worse of ideas, he played there a lot for Plymouth IIRC.

I do think we need to have a proper look at things - we're in "freefall" are in terrible form, cant score and leaky at the back. Do I think we'll go down? No. But it could easily happen. We should never have lost against West Ham and Norwich, but we did which pulled Norwich three points closer to us. We have a job to do over the next few months, and we need to make sure we stay up. We have some big games, and we need to start picking up points - it could look completely different in a few weeks time if we get a few wins. January 13: Watford (H) January 16: West Brom (H) January 23: Manchester United (A) February 2: Arsenal (A) February 6: West Ham (H) February 13: Swansea (A) February 27: Chelsea (H) March 1: Bournemouth (A) March 5: Sunderland (H) March 12: Stoke (A) March 19: Liverpool (H) April 2: Leicester (A) April 9: Newcastle (H) April 16: Everton (A) April 23: Aston Villa (A) April 30: Manchester City (H) May 7: Tottenham (A) May 15: Crystal Palace (H)

You could say the same thing about Iturbe...
-
Just hope we get some money back for him, he's atrocious, one of the worst CB's in this league.
-
We watched Townsend again last night apparently....Alan Nixon doesn't think we'll pay £14m for him though...!
