Although I agree it won't be a walkover, they won't sit back and put 11 men behind the ball and play on the counter. Nor do they have much pace. We really should be winning this, they are very poor make no mistake. Professional job needed.

It's great the amount of neutral admirers we've picked up this season. I'm proud of our squad, they've all worked their balls off and fair play to them for turning it around. And fair play to Cortese/Nigel/Pochettino for getting us in the prem playing some fantastic football!

Hope there is a big 'ONE NIGEL ADKINS' just before the players come out, then our fans fully get behind the team and Poche as we're a better side under him. He deserves a thankyou though.

Given that we stay up, which is the biggest game left for you and why? The one I most want us to win has to be the WHU game. All my best mates are WHU fans and have got stick from them all season. Also Upton Park was probably the lowest point in the season for me. Would also love us to win next week, to get our own back on Reading after their smash and grab last season.

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?

I see that because there weren't many options about. The teams that went down, had little quality at CB. The teams around us weren't willing to sell, and the teams above us probably they wouldnt want to drop to a new ly promoted club. -

Yep, agree. Which makes you pleased we didnt waste the money while also showing there was little CB options available. The only decent option that has been proven is probably Bassong. -
So did we TBF!

We will win.

I seem to remember Nixon saying that we were interested in Yoshi and then Simon Peach said it won't happen. Then Nixon tweeted that we were watching quite a few but hadn't made a decision. I still think our no1 CB target was Rhys Williams from Middlesbrough, but then he got injured and left us in no mans land. I certainly thought that Curtis Davies would have been a good shout, but he doesn't seem to have gone anywhere after being linked with a number of clubs. -

Didn't Hangeland just sign a new contract ?! And Astori was only linked in January, who knows if he was on our radar last summer. We didn't even seem to be linked with any CB's last summer IIRC. All a bit of jumbled memory though... -

TBF it's just what I remember, rather than quotes. I can't be arsed to go back through finding old threads about it. Fair enough Kraken. I always said that we needed to bring in an experienced head at CB, but finding one with prem experience would have been tough. Personally I think Collins is absolutely dreadful, and would be totally lost playing passing football from the back. He's in there to do a job, no nonsense and boot it long whenever possible. Other than that, the CB's around really just weren't that good or not realistic signings. So not surprised we looked abroad, despite it taking a while to get Yoshi up to speed. -

There was loads of people asking why we were signing players with no prem experience. And quite a lot over the summer our transfers were compared with West Ham's and Readings. Quite a few people were saying that Pog was much better signing than JRod and Guthrie was better than Davis, Collins better than Yoshi.... Just because they weren't better the day they signed, some people on here said they were poor signings. -

Am I right in saying that his last free kick goal was Torquay in the Carling Cup last season? And didn't get one in the league? He's been so close to popping one in this season, about time one found the net ! (I'm discounting the Liverpool one as it was a huge deflection!) -
Reckon they'll announce Di Canio tomorrow morning.

Lampard always hits the wall somehow.

Think we will need at least 40 points
Saint Garrett replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
Looks like we've got to lose atleast 4 games for us to have a chance of going down. Win 2 games and we're pretty much safe regardless. -

It's certainly gone up! About 2 months ago you'd have probably said that 36/7 was enough... -
Had the best chance of the game as yet though !

I thought Moses was their best player by a long way. Lampard was dreadful. Torres was ok, but Chelsea just gave it to him in the air. Hazard looked class when he came on but obviously Benitez wants him for Monday.
