  1. Fry would get crucified for not having done his job properly, that's why! He has to be sure that he doesn't find himself at a point where bids 'B' and 'C' are still five or more weeks away from closure, when they could be just three weeks away. If there is even a 1% chance of a deal with Pinnacle not happening, Fry would have to be talking to and progressing other parties. He has to be ready with those other parties at a stage to progress as quickly as possible, in order that the situation is resolved with a sale of the assets within the time constraints of the new season approaching and the payment of bills.
  2. I trust you also imposed the champions league and sky, tv ban, which is standard in these situations. Still, at least he didn't say he wanted to support the skates. I know a couple of Tottenham and West Ham fans, whose sons have turned and supported Arsenal instead.
  3. You mean we'd never win one, she'd **** them all before, at half time and after the match as well. They wouldn't have the energy for a game of football.
  4. Ha anyone got any of those 'You are now entering Le God's City' posters left?
  5. You can't sell something which has already been liquidated. According to Tony Lynams latest post, these are issues which can be overcome fairly quickly and easily, so I am probably wrong in my summarisation. Let's hope Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning brings us all, a shed load of good news announcements.
  6. It was reported by Sky all afternoon yesterday that the Football League are not happy about the transfer of assets from SLH to a new holding/parent company, and that it is this structure that is holding up the deal, as they are unwilling to sign off on the licence because of it. It seems to me that in only buying the assets of SLH rather than completing a takeover of SLH, Pinnacle virtually legally prove that SFC and SLH are not inextricably linked, and strengthen their case for appeal under the FL's current rules, thus weakening the FL's case. So the FL obviously don't want to sign off. The major problem here, is that if this is the case, then the football league, are now dictating to Pinnacle on how they will be allowed to takeover the assets of SLH, which would mean a takeover of SLH rather than just by buying it's assets. Thus making it a virtually unworkable deal for anyone, let alone Pinnacle. As we know, the FL can't be proved to be wrong about anything, so will pathetically fight till the bitter end before conceeding an inch, let alone admitting that their decision was legally wrong. They changed the rules after the Derby debacle, to make it impossible for clubs to go into admin without getting a points deduction. So they should just admit they made a mistake, revoke the penalty and then change the rules again. So that in future, any club which is an asset of a holding company that goes into Admin, will get a points penalty as well.
  7. Please read Derry's post above. The ten points is not the sum of the problem here. The crux of the matter is that Pinnacle have a deal agreed with the creditors for the assets of SLH, who as we all know went into administration. The problem here is that the Football Leagues position makes that deal unworkable, as they are saying that the club and SLH are one and the same, meaning that the only way that things can go ahead in the FL's mind is for Pinnacle to buy SLH. Meaning that they will then have to pay off all of SLH's debts rather than just the proportion that they have already agreed, thus making the deal so much more expensive. Why then would anyone 'let alone Pinnacle' pay more for the club and the assets than they really have to? That being the case, they are then leaving themselves open to legal recourse as Clapham and Derry have said. The issue is that they refuse to be wrong about the points deduction. They know that if they admit that they are wrong, it will leave them open to legal challenges from other teams that they have punished. The only thing that they can do, is back down about Pinnacle giving up their right to appeal, and then hope that Pinnacle do not succeed legally to overturn the deduction. Otherwise the unthinkable could happen.
  8. This is one of the key points, in that as it was the holding company in admin and not the club, the league were not able to take a golden share, how can they demand a stake in a plc, it is not the football club? The other key point here is the wording of the deal that pinnacle have put together, it is quite probable that the legal documentation makes no reference to SLH, as it is not part of the deal, and refers only to the football club, again this is only a technicality, but adds credence to Pinnacles fight against the points deduction. The Football League are not going to sign anything that gives Pinnacle amunition to fight their case. However if the Football League, do not sign and say that they will not unless Pinnacle give up their right to appeal, they lay their selves open to allegations of blackmail and of having no judicial process, which again lays them open to futher legal problems. Of course the worse case scenario is that they demand that the wording on the contracts is changed, which could mean scuppering the deal completly, or pinnacle having to go through the whole deal process again. The Football Leagues claim that the club did not offer any assistance to the investigator they appointed, have been steadfastly refuted by Mark Fry and Dave Jones, which could be another mute point legally. The Football League have to be very careful here, as it would seem that they have got themselves into a no win situation, unless they ignore their own rule book and their own judicial process.
  9. The latest bulletin said that a spokesman for pinnacle confirmed that they have spoken to KK, and also that he held futher talks with them at St Mary's yesterday. Since no one posted on here that he had been seen at St Marys yesterday, it would seem that pinnacle have built a tunnel into the ground so that they can come and go without being seen, or have a very good disguise kit, or more likely that the grapevine has been well and truly pruned.
  10. Well, I bumped into Marty McFly yesterday, and he told me that Saints would go all of next season without conceeding a goal at St Marys and that David McGoldrick would score 49 goals next season. The bad news was though that this was still only good enough for a play off spot though, unfortunately his Almanac didn't cover the playoff's, so he was unable to say if we achieved promotion. However he did say that Saints were in the Championship a couple of years later, so fingers crossed. That's all he had time to say though, as he had to get to pompey to get some rubbish for his 'Mr Fusion', so I gave him directions to Fratton.
  11. Could you make the white stripe a bit thinner? It currently looks too lopsided to me. Have you tried putting the badge and umbro logo on either side of the chest, would be interesting to see how that looks? I quite liked the red and white halves one above as well.
  12. Very true, it is a way off being decided yet. But I find myself now torn between wanting the world cup to come to England as a football fan, and not wanting our bid to win the staging competition as a Saints fan as it means that we'll be paying for that dump to host games in the competition. Would Saints fans set aside their dislike of Portsmouth, and go and watch a world cup match staged there?
  13. The thing that makes it worse is that we are going to have to pay for the blo*dy thing out of our taxes, as the organising comittee have said that they want to invest in a new stadium to be built on the south coast. So the skates get a brand new stadium either free of charge, or at little cost to themselves or whatever shady character is running their market stall of a club at the time.
  14. Indeed in a few months he'll be patting himself on the back for his boycott that got rid of 'the Dutch experiment' I don't care if we have a new manager or Mark Wotte in charge, all I want is to see a Saints team playing at St Marys come the start of the new season. It would be nice though if it included some new players that will make a difference at League 1 level, so that we can all have more joy than sorrow in a season for the first time since 2002/03.
  15. Ah, the little reported transfer of Gregorz to the new galacticos bears fruit. I understand that Ronaldo wants to use him as a hat stand.
  16. Please don't have the badge and Umbro symbol in the middle of the shirt, in my opinion it doesn't look good. Badge and symbol should be on opposite sides of the chest. I would love to see a design which is unique to Saints, but unfortunately manufacturers make all designs uniform now, so that's out of the question.
  17. Having visited Swindon several times, and having seen some of the town I concur, Swindon is a dump. I almost made the mistake of moving there to be close to work a few years ago. I ended up moving to Basingstoke and having a slightly longer journey to work, and have never regretted my decision. On one visit to Swindon during the close season, one of my friends and I were walking past one of the pubs in the town centre and saw a couple of people standing outside wearing West Ham shirts, I looked at them and thought what a pair of ugly blokes they were. It was only when they started kissing each other, that I realised it was a pair of lesbians. I'm looking forward to going to the county ground with a large following of Saints fans, and also to visiting Adams Park.
  18. We know that the draws with Everton and Boro, were what did for Saints in the end, as if we had won those games we would have stayed up. So having Oaks and especially Killer in those games, probably would have made all the difference. Gillet's injury against QPR last season, was a killer blow to our hopes of staying up, or at least avoiding this seasons points penalty.
  19. Can someone please clarify exactly which month's payroll Mr Crouch is alleged to have stumped up the cash for? I don't see how it could of been the April payroll, as the club had the revenue to cover it, then as we have been told by Mr Fry, May's payroll was paid by the Pinnacle deposit. So is Mr Crouch taking credit for something he hasn't actually done? Before anyone has ago at me for doubting his holiness Mr Crouch, I know he donated a large amount to the Save Our Saints campaign, but in relation to proportion of wealth, so did I and many others.
  20. Do you think a change to 'The Crusaders' would have more appeal?
  21. Just saw the skates new owner being shown around krap nottarf on Sky sports news. He should fit right in as he was wearing a baseball cap and a Burberry shirt, looked like one of the locals.
  22. Le Tiss is no longer appearing on the Skysports website as being on their panel of football experts. Does this mean he has already resigned?
  23. 'Mega bucks' as in 5 million or more being thrown at the team, wouldn't work in the division we are now in, the players that fit that tag would under perform once they have been kicked around a bit. We need good players that can handle a bit of abuse from the oppo's, so it makes sense to try to recruit the best players from the league we are now in. Or at least cherry pick the best players from each of the teams in the bottom half of our division and the best players from the top half of league 2. In my opinion we should be able to put a very good side together for around £2 Million, when added to the squad we already have.
  24. Since we finally got news of a takeover on a Friday, should it not be fate that the new owner will now turn up for his press conference on a yacht? I fully expect his entrance from a yacht, it would be bad form to do it any other way.
  25. Elton John is a Watford fan.
