Brijan Tours buses to and from SMS & Railway/docks
hamster replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
I really wish they'd move their pick-up point and cease blocking that essential arterial link between Paget and Marine Parade, it's nuts. If they would just move a hundred yards up it would give me priority when leaving over everyone coming from the east past American Wharf. Actually, I wonder if the bollarding of said road is legal considering that the club don't take responsibilty for managing traffic on Northam Road any more, perhaps they are just being cute and hoping mr policeman doesn't notice. I may pursue this matter. -
The special offer tickets window has now ended unfortunately; 'This offer WILL NOT be available on the day of the game" Hope that they've calculated that it's been a worthwhile exercise and repeat it periodically.

He says good things about us on his TalkSport show, reason for confusion explained now. I saw him at The Big Sheep once, we were parked close to each other, we were leaving and he was arriving I didn;t have time to chat unfortunately. Incidentally, when we signed him the deal includede us playing a friendly against them down there. Anyone who went to that game will remember it for the amazing impromptu kickabout on the pitch at half time amongst the saints faithful. Happy days.

Capitalism, socialism, communism, ism, ism sim... None of the 'systems' work, we all know that. But in recent decades now I will accept that we got closer to synergy across the 'classes' then perhaps ever before. Trouble is,it was all a con for many amongst us and although we nearly all had our day in the sun, capitalists now blame socialists for the majority of the mess. Truth of the matter is (and I am only just starting to get my head around this theory) there are a certain 'class' of people who are turning the middle and lower classes against each other. Just because we appear to be poles apart, we really are not, we actually need to unite and fight the invisible system that is controlling us, we all know what's really going on but perhapos it's the fact that it makes us all impotent that brings out the pack mentality?

I'm in the middle of The Road to Wigan Pier by George Orwell. Quite extraordinary what some of our parents and grandparents 'tolerated' as normal. Re the OP I was not referring to ALL people on the dole, I was on about people like the chap on the programme. Having said that my starting point with people who claim benefits is that they are genuine and that there is more to their story than meets the eye. OF COURSE I am wrong about some of them, but to label everyone on benefits, dole, ILA, etc etc as "SCUM" and worse is actually in my very humble opinion nearer to idiocy that those the insult is aimed at. If people have not experienced first hand these people's situation then can we honestly say that we can judge them? Leaving school at 15 to learn the trade and work honestly for decades in that and only that trade only to have it whipped away from you is a social injustice, it is not fair. Bear in mind that the chap in the programme had to endure the fact that the job still existed, only he wasn't the man doing it and for no other reason than the company who took the job on (and subsequently 'subbed' it out AT A PROFIT) had snuck in due to the one that had the work sold to them messed it up and went bust. Surely the incoming company could/should have taken on the workforce too initially? Nah, scrap heap for these scrounging scum, not their problem, apparently they are now OUR problem and to some they really are a problem and should leapfrog 20+ years of the IT revolution and learn to do something else instead. NEWSFLASH - IT AINT THAT EASY!

you should join hauntedsouthampton on facebook if you are even remotely curious about these things, overnight get togethers in 'haunted' pubs run by a nice bunch. I can 100% understand people who do not 'believe' I can also however not explain some of the things that have happened in THIS house since we moved in, tis spooky but not scary.

Edison Arantes do Nascimento had a nice ring to it, alas the owner of said name chose a life of anonimity using a moniker that escapes me atm. Check out the forum match too, not many chose to out themselves, in fact iirc it was just Mike.

What is a zebra doing in Leicester Square?

Sorry to hear this johnny. When I had my car done a while back the police had a witness who pointed to the house where the 'suspects' had gone. The occupants told them that they were curious walking past a car with a smashed window and had just leant in! Have you informed the police yet?

Just watching tonights episode! I was so surprised that the word'SCAB' is still in common use, but it is and it is still used in it's purest form, with the same emotion and absolute disdain. It may be a dog eat dog world but why oh why do we allow those top dogs who working man? I make no excuses for my nurtured beliefs and values; my mum's side of the family have historically stood shoulder to shoulder in the feint belief that they were fighting not only for themselves but for their son's and grandson's right to work. Honest decent people who want to provide for their families. This government and recent ones have basically created a new under-class imho. You see them on every street corner, in every pub and in every dole queue. Please don't lable them scroungers, they are forgotten and ignored, they are victims through no fault of their own. Thoughts?

Letting a place without a 'buy-to-let' mortgage
hamster replied to saint_stevo's topic in The Lounge
/\ okay. s-s dont do it, even though it may save you lots of money in these cash strapped times, it may lead to you being labelled a politician, sorry fraudster. I will however go on record as saying that imho a little bit of creativity may be called for, it's a game and the people at the very top are role models in creativity. -
Assuming that mr c approved that OS item, can we also assume that he is familiar with the mysoginism contained within said play to which the headline refers? being clever is one thing, being smart (as in 'smart-arse') is not necesarily the same thing.

hamster replied to Baj's topic in The Lounge
