  1. There is more to Jackson than just pace SC. Early on he was scoring from all sorts of positions. I think his head dropped when they held on to him in January as he feels that he wanted to ply his trade at a higher level and wanted the pay packet to match. Imho he will not start for them come the start of the season, AH will want to dabble in the transfer market sooner rather than later and prove his worth. Jacko didn;t keep them up proving that keeping hold of him was a bad judgement in hindsight ...just (down on goal difference).
  2. That headline about "2 Russian Subs spotted in Solent"
  3. Yes, i remember your recollections of one particular incident. Must make a point of having that pre-match beer one day next season, maybe go for that curry afterwards too. We can pick a match out when the fixtures are released.....when your not on the beat perhaps?
  4. How dare you StL Whatever are you suggesting? Actually as we will be moored up most of the time we probably won;t be using that much for transit (can;t think of the proper word) so a majority will be used for heating and generating electrickery. Still probably be paying more per unit than a houeholder but definitle ybe using much less over all. Using the engine running hours meter you can do a pretty accurate calculation but I understand that most live aboarders don't bother and stick to the 60/40 split, madness imho. Back to the petrol price question, here's the website that I am registered with, people should join as it is free and I've never gotten spam from them, just the weekly update: http://www.petrolprices.com/ As i say, you do have to register but they have a new iPhone App (£2.99) which uses GPS to constantly give the best price to your locality when out and about. Should pay dor itself in no time. Good moneysaving thread btw. Another good one might be 'Slow The **** Down FFS'
  5. I receive weekly emails with local petrol price comparisons and almost every week ASDA Chandler's Ford comes out tops. Personally I prefer to pop down to Tesco's Millbrook station prior to picking up mrs h from work and collect the clubcard points. I have almost enough points now to fly to the moon. I think that motorway prices should be controlled the robbing so-and-so's. On a related issue; am I alone in seeing through this BP 'disaster' nonsense? Charge them, fine them, do whatever we like to them, when all the dust has settled who is ultimately going to foot the bill! They'll all sit round a table anyway and make sort out some compo too, best not to get hot under the collar about this sort of thing imo. Actually (and predictably perhaps) I'd like to point out that on the canals you get to claim a tax split of 60/40 transit/heating on diesel. AND this rule recently changed so that permanent cruisers (like what I hope to be soon) can declare whatever split they wish on an honesty basis (within reason of course). Good times ahead.
  6. Can't wait to see young Pulis donning the new kit. Oh!!!
  7. I am liking where the 'RECEPTION' sign is pointing. Would be better if it said 'TRADESMEN' though.
  8. The bowling alley in the swan Centre has quite a large one.
  9. They are sure to have the match showing in a bar at the track. Otherwise is there not a pub in the village as you approach from the M20? Or maybe the hotel at the entrance, Thistle iirc. The pub at Fawkham (sp) will not show any sport, as it's a niddle england toff's place. I persdonally would head for the Castle in Aynsford (2 miles away), they show footie on a big creen (and shut off the restaurant area to avoid upsetting non-believers) and they do food too. I've heard that their room rates are excellent, about £50 for a twin with brekkie. It shouldn't get too packed either as it's a smallish village, just donlt tell all the other petrol-heds as itr's our little secret.

He's very saddle sore but tomorrow has about 45 miles to cycle and he's done it. iirc you did the same ride a couple of years ago, so you'll know what a feat it is. He's being accompanied by Mark Stogs, who you will know very well too...what a couple of old farts eh! Re the hotel, which one have you gone for and what are their rates Minty please? At the risk of being called a pussy again, is anyone taking their squeeeze with them? I ask as I expect he will have pressue put on him to take a chaperone...pussy. What are the numbers thus far too? Does everyone travel up by car on the Friday?
