Having started this thread, I have now posted 3 times on the subject and (using different words!) have basically stated that if we all unite behind the cause, there is a better chance of improved performance/results ! I contend that unqualified support, positivity and encouragement is preferable to whingeing, sniping and criticism ! In response, Alpine has said that he finds my view 'faintly disturbing' and Delldays reckons that I am 'not in the real world' ! Perhaps I am a little bit mad but I don't really think so ? I can't see why good man management should be considered as 'outside the real world' Sure Pardew knows the price of success and failure, my point is only that with total support he has a better chance of the former than the latter !!

My point is Alps, that in any walk of life (be it business, sport or otherwise), the best way to generate enthusiasm and good performance is to show unqualified support ! Particularly at the start of a new enterprise, this is absolutely crucial ! If you were in a new job situation and became aware of sniping and personal criticism , do you honestly think that this would be preferable to encouragement and the full backing of your colleagues ??

Those who tend towards criticism at the moment seem to feel that it is better to question decisions and defend their 'right' to do so ! I would contend that it would be better for everyone to show absolute, 100% support for the new regime/players in order to cement a feeling of positivity and togetherness ! If AP and/or any of the players were to read some of the threads on here, I guess that their attitudes and levels of motivation would not improve ! After all that has happened in recent times, surely we can wholeheartedly unite behind the club, without reservation ? Just this once, please..???

Well p!ssed off for this one ! My mate's best mate is a director at Charlton and I have been in the director's box there a few times when we have played, but at the moment he is in Asia, so no chance to go ! I was hoping to meet Markie, Nic & Oldie but it looks like I'll have to live with my memories of a duck chasing, rosy cheeked, arrogant git who I met on previous occasions !! Life really can be a schweinhund at times, grrrrrr.....
