Might actually watch it for a laugh, not much else to do in this lousy weather

Aren't they the 2nd biggest 'fan owned' club in the country ? :)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34811963 Seems that Cardiff and Newport have a problem with the rebranding of the 'Football League' which will become the 'English Football League' ! One quote is : "It's a little bit insulting that both Welsh clubs will be classed as English," Tim Hartley said. Personally I don't see why they can't just remain as Welsh clubs playing in the English league (which is the reality of the situation and has been for years) and can't see why umbrage should be taken, anyway at least they haven't cried racism so far :)

Definitely one of those articles that will come back and bite him in the arse

Dream scenario, St Mary's welcomes the Skates for their big day in the sun, bring it on...........
-
For all the abuse he gets, I thought that Yoshida had a solid game ! Still prefer Cedric but clearly 'the end justifies the means' !
-
Anybody who does buy one, in the mistaken belief that they are getting more than is stated on the advertising bumph, is a fool to himself ! Read the terms and make your mind up, should be pretty easy for most I imagine ! I assume that you haven't bought one ?

QPR are owned by Asians (Fernandez, Mittal etc..) and have a black director of football (Ferdinand) and they appointed a black manager (Ramsey). As soon as they sack their manager it becomes an issue of race (in some minds!) - bizarre !!
-
A fair view on where he fits in the Saints team today and personally I detect very good potential in him ! He will be a 'water carrier' rather than a flair player so will take more time to win over the fans than a goalscorer or a tricky winger for example ! Ronald clearly rates him and seems inclined to give him a run in the first team which should enable him to settle into his role sooner rather than later ! Certainly, negative comments after only 3 games seems very short sighted to me and serve no useful purpose !

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3289486/England-footballer-Luke-Shaw-denies-gay-growing-internet-rumours-sexuality-reported-two-players-come-out.html One to cross off the list then ?

She said: "I, as an ethnic minority woman, cannot be racist or sexist towards white men, because racism and sexism describe structures of privilege based on race and gender. Certainly a bit concerning if someone in a 'diversity' position at a university holds this view, it's an outright admission that racism only applies one way !

Golden thread Pity the original subject got completely sidelined by childish behaviour !
-
I totally agree with these statements in bold, yes it's going to take some brave souls to do it and yes, there is an issue but I am convinced that it'll settle very quickly after it happens !

Meanwhile... Any news on gay footballers about to come out and is it the right thing to do ??

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-0 Bournemouth
eurosaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The difference between the two teams was quality, in terms of passion, workrate, energy and enthusiasm they matched us but we get the 3 points because we had that extra edge in the 1st half ! Strange game but hey, a win is a win !! -
Classic game of 2 halves but have no idea why we stopped playing the same way after the break but fair do's we are up to 7th !!
-
Not only the bestest, they are now the 'toppest'
-
Lost at Notts County today but at least they remain top of the league 7 points behind Plymouth and 2 behind Oxford
-
If this were to happen then the whole discussion will go on forever and remain an unresolved issue ! IMO the sooner someone comes out the better, does anyone actually think that Gareth Thomas (rugby player) and Thomas Hizlesperger have negatively suffered because of it ? I consider them to be proven strong characters and from what I've read they both feel more comfortable for it !
-
Strange that people who hold the opinion that this subject should be treated as a 'non issue' are deeply involved in a 4 page (and rising) thread ! I guess that's part of the problem and personally I'd like to see some players 'come out' soon because after an initial media spree I would expect it to die down very quickly as it did in rugby and American football ! The worst thing IMO about making a 'non issue' an 'issue' is that it keeps it going ! Let's move on..............

TBF a nil-nil draw at home to the mighty Mansfield is a real achievement, anyway (as has been said) they remain top of the league 4 points behind Plymouth

I gave £20 to a lad who came to the door on one of those 'rehabilitation' schemes, he offered me a shammy or something but I refused saying that all I wanted was that he stayed off drugs and got his life back together again ! He seemed genuinely touched and I hope it made a difference but who knows, eh ? I'll probably never see him again but I hope that he understands that not all people are unforgiving ! -
"Top of the league" ! I could have sworn that was Plymouth and 29 points is more than 27 according to my calculations but of course I'm not an expert in either Portsmaths nor Portsmyths so what do I know ! Delusion rules, eh !
-
I reckon that England would have struggled in a group with Germany, Poland and Rep of Ireland ! Scotland didn't qualify but they came close in the 'group of death' !
