We seem to sign Celtic players with ease and I just wonder if Charlie Mulgrew could fill a few of our spaces in one go ? He can play LB, CB and DM and when fit is a real asset ! He played for Scotland recently (against ROI) after a long lay off and was excellent ! Just thinking out of the box so please don't slag me off unless in a constructive manner

True, but in most other walks of life there is no transfer fee involved and clearly that is what Saints were initially trying to protect ! As it turned out he was such a liability that no-one else was prepared to take a permanent risk on him, hence the loan deals ! As in all financial transactions you sometimes have to cut your losses and take the hit and that is what we did today ! The only 'silver lining' is that we can offset losses like this with profits like £16mil on Chambers and £12 mil on Lovren, I guess it kinda evens itself out over time !!

It's all about opinions obviously but I think you are overstating the quality of one against the other ! Pelle's was instinctive whereas Shane's was calculated, which for me made it slightly better ! Either way it's not a 'ridiculous' comparison !
