  1. Personally I respect all 'conviction' politicians whether I agree with them or not ! Tony Benn was one and so was Maggie Thatcher as they were consistent in their views and didn't say one thing and do another ! It is the 'meally mouthed' reptiles who get on my wick, those that blow in the wind of perceived public opinion just to get into power and then muddle about trying to stay popular rather than taking tough decisions for the good of the country ! I disagree with most of Corbyn's views but I certainly give him credit for being his own man !!
  2. The main shopping streets are Boulevard Hausmann and Rue de Rivoli but these are mainly the bigger stores. If you want the 'arty farty' ssort then best try the latin quarter ! HTH
  3. Only a small point but recently I witnessed a queue for a food bank where at least half of them were obese, many of them were smoking fags at (£8 ??) a packet and most covered in expensive tattoos ! It does make me wonder if it is borne out of necessity or has just become a lifestyle choice ?
  4. Me too (and I live on the IoW:))
  5. I am an ST holder but I still got the 'print at home' option ! No booking charge at all ! In sympathy with the OP, I have to say that it took a minute or two before I realised that there was an attached PDF with the barcode in the email !!
  6. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/bbc-apologises-for-sexist-remark-by-commentator-peter-alliss/ar-AAdhN1x?ocid=mailsignoutmd Is this really a sexist comment or just a flippant remark from an old guy who has served his time as a top commentator for forty odd years ? I heard it live, giggled and thought no more of it, now someone thinks that it is a big deal ! It's a sad old world if people take offence this easily IMHO !
  7. I think you're being kind, unless you mean a sewer ? :)
  8. Yes, he does wear shorts, it's just that they look like long trousers
  9. Would be nice to play Odd just for the fun of it For those of you who are not familiar with them, shame on you ! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odds_BK
  10. Either he has very short arms or they just couldn't find a tracksuit top in his size
  11. Clasie is a class signing especially at £7 mil !
  12. Surprised that you forgot 'highest number of radicalised terrorists buggering off to Syria' but apart from that, pretty good synopsis
  13. They'd have a field day in this place then
  14. May I be the first this season to utter the immortal words : Koeman out ! :)
  15. We seem to sign Celtic players with ease and I just wonder if Charlie Mulgrew could fill a few of our spaces in one go ? He can play LB, CB and DM and when fit is a real asset ! He played for Scotland recently (against ROI) after a long lay off and was excellent ! Just thinking out of the box so please don't slag me off unless in a constructive manner
  16. Surely the plural of thicko is thickos not thickoes ??
  17. x 1 This was written in the stars and all the more magical for it !
  18. Makes you wonder why more top players don't sign for Pompey, Eh ? :)
  19. True, but in most other walks of life there is no transfer fee involved and clearly that is what Saints were initially trying to protect ! As it turned out he was such a liability that no-one else was prepared to take a permanent risk on him, hence the loan deals ! As in all financial transactions you sometimes have to cut your losses and take the hit and that is what we did today ! The only 'silver lining' is that we can offset losses like this with profits like £16mil on Chambers and £12 mil on Lovren, I guess it kinda evens itself out over time !!
  20. Not sure that I'd class that as fortunate, more illegal really if you think about it ! Hopefully nobody on here will shop you though
  21. I sort of wish now that we had sacked him for gross misconduct after the Jose incident so that we would have saved on his total salary. I guess the only reason we didn't was that we reckoned that we'd get a sizeable transfer fee for him, in hindsight though, maybe the former was the better option !
  22. I am intrigued by this issue, does it mean : Premier League lights - bright ! Championship - fairly bright ! League 1 - dim ! League 2 - nearly dark ! Just asking
  23. Is his dad an electrician ?
  24. I still find it so hard to believe that this figure went unquestioned at a meeting of all the local 'brains' and that a major loan was sanctioned with this as a backdrop ! It does appear down there that if you say something with a straight face and it suits popular opinion then it becomes gospel ! But hey, that's ' Portsmyth' for you, the gift that keeps on giving
