  1. Froome climbed better than Wiggins at last years Vuelta, the warnings were there....
  2. Great link thanks!
  3. Liverpool indeed did, but with more drama, muscle, swagger, pace and yet tinged with frailty and inconsistency; and roared on by the hordes from Kop. Combined, these attributes made them very exciting to watch.
  4. What's the drill for rehab from that sort of injury?
  5. Daunting to see it in black and white!
  6. I m sure it was him stood next to me in the Northam giving it large to the Millwall fans.
  7. The sun set on his career about 4 years ago. Why the heck would we want him here? Polar opposite of our ethos and culture under Adkins/Cortese.
  8. There is a further problem with mid-level rings of corporate seating: it creates an atmosphere-nulling equivalent of a fire-break, half way up a bank of fans. This is a big problem at the Emirates (although granted, Highbury was also known as the Library, even without such seating ringing the stadium at such a crucial level, in it's least decade or so...).
  9. Music has NO PLACE in football from 10 minutes prior to kick off to 10 minutes after end of a game. Destroys atmosphere, and is simply cringeingly embarrassing. And, while we are here, don't get me started on fake, corporately-produced banners and flags put out in the big stadia like Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Ethihad Old T. etc. in a vain attempt to address the sterility of the modern arena (thanks to fans being banned entry with real flags/banners etc - we can't have anything that might obscure the precious advertising hoardings can we - and the prawn sandwich brigade).
  10. The most effective way to divide the nation geographically, socially and economically is to simply draw a line from The Wash to the Severn Estuary. Anything or person from under the line is 'southern' and southern in culture and social mores.
  11. yellow and blue, anything else is a travesty
  12. I was nine. remember being inconsolable when we went out after the away leg
  13. No way would I take it- we will strengthen and be top half at end of season, might even scrape Europa league.
  14. The Cortese/Adkins axis is doing very well indeed, thank you. The defining game of season was, I think, Leeds away.
  15. Guly has a laconic style on the pitch that hides a cultured, skilful player, who uses his brain to deploy effort efficiently. I remember away at Coventry when we won 4-2, he was instrumental and crucial to the win, but in a subtle manner. Trouble is, UK crowds just want to see players charge around the pitch all afternoon at full pelt..because it shows "passion" and "playing for the shirt" and ****e like that.
  16. Five year plan is well ahead of schedule - I see us getting a champions league spot.
  17. Surprised how high Villa are.
  18. The decisive moment will be Saturday. No other.
  19. looking forward hopefully to being a thorn in Fergie's side once more, with some nice 6-3s and grey shirt type moments.....lol
  20. 4-0 at half time, then I could relax. This is a long week.
  21. Promotion is agonisingly slowly falling away like sand through our fingers....
  22. Trouble is, if we end up in the playoffs we won't get promoted.
  23. Leicester were always gonna lose, let's be honest
  24. Allaedyce looks like the Krynoid
