Matt Phillips will be an england player by the next world cup, writing him off because of a couple of missed chances in one of the highest pressure situations in the footballing world is ridiculous.
In the footballing world, you don't really have CVs as we know them. Trials and scout reports are given much more credence.
I'd even wager that in the vast majority of football transfers, a CV is never even mentioned.
Our third keeper will surely be under 21 and therefore not included. I'll be surprised if Butterfield and Harding aren't kept on to be honest - you won't find better, cheaper, willing-to-sit-on-the-sidelines players IMO. I also think Seaborne will be kept on but one of him and Martin loaned out to the NPC.
The best one is when you get players on a free and sell them on for millions. I signed the same player twice on a free and sold him on again for £2.5million both times - he never made a single appearance for me.
Another good way of making a bit of dough is asking for loan fees for your promising youngsters/players you don't want but can't get rid of. Some of my 19 year old strikers got me £1million each for a seasons loan.
Looking forward to this. Lambert wasn't that good in 12 if I remember rightly, they seemed to just assume he was another one of "those" lower league cloggers. Hopefully he'll be improved this time round.
Given how good the likes of Lambert, Sharp, Guly, Lallana and even on occasion Morgan and Cork are positionally, someone capable of getting that many crosses in would be very useful.
Fair enough.
Although as for "watching" him...I probably saw him play just as much as you did. I just don't memorise other teams stats.
Saying that, doesn't he take all corners and free-kicks for Leeds? That'd be good for a couple more goals and a fair few assists.
Absolute rubbish. How would Pearce know for starters? And I doubt he speaks with such a great vocabulary either.
Also, go back and watch the last interview with Cortese on BBC - he's asked about Adkins then and can't speak highly enough of him.
