I'll go along with your assumption that Pardew doesn't want us getting tonked in pre-season by a top European side. Why can the Reading game not be classed as the Ted Bates Trophy game then?

Why does it matter what other clubs are doing? The point is we started a tradition and now it's just been thrown out the window.

What difference does it make to him? We're still playing a home game this pre-season, are we not? What difference does it make if a trophy is presented at the end of it.

Puncheon finished up with 9 assists, the second highest at the club, in just half a season. Like you I thought he didn't perform for a lot of the games but during that time I noticed that even whilst not "performing" he was still creating goals.

Muller has come out of nowhere and done fantastically well. Lahm is one of my favourite ever players, i've never seen him have a bad game. And although his nation went out, I think Lucio is the best CB in the world right now. Outstanding.

Just looked through the transfers so far this summer and, with the exception of Chris Sedgewick, there are none I would be too fussed about anyway. Even with Sedgewick we could do better.

Maybe someone should ring up and ask about the prices in the Bobby Stokes, Mick Channon, Matt Le Tissier and Terry Paine suites and see if they get an answer.

I still don't get what you mean. An able replacement for Lallana or Schneiderlin isn't going to sign for us unless guaranteed first team football. Even then it will be a hard sell, as they could probably perform for a low end Prem team right about now.

He also played at CM against Birmingham in the Carling Cup and was outstanding. He also played at RM for the first game of the season and was beating people for fun. He was never given a fair chance as a midfielder. Poortvliet and Wotte ruined him.
