  1. Disagree. I was there on that day at Fratton. For years I have hated that song for being subjected to it for 45 minutes, but now I love it. I love shoving it back down their throats. I really hope we thrash them and sing it for the full 90 minutes. When they walk away, I want them to hate that song just as much as I once did.
  2. I think they said 'special games' which hopefully Coventry would be.
  3. It genuinely saddens me that he isn't here to see whats happening at the club right now.
  4. The Reading game is going to be HUGE!!
  5. Would be great to take the full allocation. What an atmosphere that would be
  6. Lets hope it's not for a big fee. But surely it would have to be a loan with a view to making it perminant? Imagine if he comes here, takes us up and then has to return!
  7. I always wanted the sign that said 'Refreshments' at the back of the lower west at the Archers end. I sat under that sign for 9 years. I got on the pitch at the end to celebrate, then went back to get the sign and it was gone.
  8. A song for the game in April.... "You'll always be in our shadow, be in a shaaaaaaadow, you'll always be in our shadow" Nice and simple.
  9. So yes, something then. Like I said, no intention to sell. Although it's bloody uncomfortable
  10. I've got one of the wooden ones from the upper west. I have no intention to sell it but could be worth anything?
  11. He was on a golfing holiday and Robbie Fowler stepped in (and was pretty poor).
  12. It's been posted on here several times how dramatically our attendances increased after admin was announced (well ignored once again). We didn't just stand by and let it happen, we went along to support our crap team for the good of the club. Yet despite all the price promotions and pack the park campaigns, Pomp*y are struggling get to break even point. See if you can spot when we went into admin.... 21 February 2009 Preston North End 14,790 28 February 2009 Cardiff City 18,526 10 March 2009 Derby County 17,567 14 March 2009 QPR 18,691 4 April 2009 Charlton Athletic 27,228 13 April 2009 Crystal Palace 23,220 25 April 2009 Burnley 23,927
  13. Like the Neil Shipperley one. Get it going at the next 2 away games. That where chants catch on
  14. We're getting a mini bus up and having a night out in Newcastle No chance I would miss a potential promotion party. Anyone who was at Plymouth last year will not want to miss this! And anyone that feels they missed out by not going to Plymouth, well heres your chance. Would you really want to potentially miss something 10 times better than this?
  15. I've only read half of this thread so sorry if I repeat whats been said. In my line of work I am in pubs, bars and clubs all day talking to the owners. They pretty much all agree that the main reason pubs are closing and why it's all getting harder is down to the supermarkets. They sell so cheaply that the average 18-29 year olds don't see the benefit of going out or going down the pub. They (in general) either stay in drinking, or pre drink until 11pm. By pre drinking so much they skip the pubs and go straight to the late night venues. And becuase they have been pre drinking, they don't spend as much. It's not a popular opinion but I think they need to bring in minimum pricing per unit into the supermarkets. This will wipe out all the silly deals they do as well as the cheap crap. A can of cider for 20p? Bottle of Vodka for £4.50? They need to be a thing of the past. The only problem I see with that is the minimum price will go up & up & up a lot like petrol. It needs to be controled and encourage people to go out, as well as be responsible. Other factors killing the pub trade are TV - Things like X Factor keeping 20,000,000 people infront of the tv every Saturday and Sunday night. As well as the availibilty of sport Smoking ban Tax/Price - Linked to supermarkets really In some ways, it's good. It means the landlords have to make an effort. Do something to make people come in. Up the standard a bit. But it will all die soon and leave behind the big chains with the buying power.
  16. Wonder if we'll give them the same welcome...........nothing
  17. Hopefully we still get a big following if the game means something
  18. I think when either of them are out of the team, we suffer big time. However, when lambert is out of the team, we struggle far more.
  19. I think his runs can be a bit aimless at times and he gets a lot of credit just for effort. That said, he really does panic defenders and drags them all over the place giving Lambert more room.
  20. For those not going, I noticed Wahoo in town have a few of these foreign sports channels, so would imagine they'll be showing it.
  21. People who support 2 teams always seem to support one normal/**** team and one world beater team. Basically they are so uncomfortable with not being associated with success they need to 'support' a team that wins stuff....but they don't want to be seen as a glory hunter. Basically, they're morons.
  22. My mate is a Reading fan and said they have played pretty poor recently but keep grinding our results. He said had they been playing a top half team instead of the skates, they would have been rolled over. Makes me a touch less nervous about them.
