I'm sorry, but how could they not see trouble coming? The north car park used to get closed for no reason at all sometimes. There were bottles being thrown each way, goading between the fans and they tore up the segregation. I'm sorry, but to say there was no evidence to suspect trouble is a cop out. As I've said before, my opinion is they were looking for trouble to start to justify their numbers and avoid cuts.

I'm sorry, but to say Southampton City Centre is not a place to go after 8pm as you fear for your safty is just silly. I'm 23 and go out most weekends. I'm usually back in Southampton every other weekend and tend to go out around Bedford Place. It really is not an 'unsafe' place to be. Yes fights happen, but random attacks are very rare. 99% of people are there to have a good time, and 99% of people do. Thousands of people are killed on the road every year, do you avoid roads?

I used to be an Everton fan until 1992 when I realised that I'm from Southampton and should be a Saints fan. There are pictures of me in an Everton shirt with an Everton mug. All of this doesn't matter of course as I slipped through the net. Thank christ, as those pictures would have come back to bite me if I did make it.

Wow! Get well soon Danny! Sounds like he should be ok. Hopefully will still be able to play football. I've been the victim of bouncers (although they have taken that bit out now) who just decided it was me they had a problem with and set upon me. 3 of them. I was lucky as I took quite a few head shots but no serious damage. Took them to court, one got community service, one was never identified and the other one got away with it. I don't agree with the opinion the players shouldn't be allowed to go out into city centre clubs. They are intitled to a social life as long as its not before a game etc. I would expect them to have better taste than Junk though. That place is shocking!!
