  1. The way the bored (sic) has performed in public so far, it'll be some geezer called Mike from Bassett.
  2. Our favourite
  3. Meh whatever. So long and thanks for all the fish MP. In Les we trust...........
  4. Hmmmmmmmmm
  5. hiya OBS
  6. Oh krap. direct quotes from MP. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/05/26/mauricio-pochettino-set-on-southampton-talks-amid-tottenham-link/142354/?fb_action_ids=10152250667415528&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%5B575890485857309%5D&action_type_map=%5B%22og.likes%22%5D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D It's time for the new project to start at Saints. He's gonna sit down with the board tomorrow and set the goals for the new project. Where's that Popcorn smiley?
  7. Really disagree with you on that one Nick. For the first time MP will find himself in an environment with a bunch of individuals, arrogant and rich ones as well. That is very different from managing a stepping stone - Espanyol and managing a "Bunch of Mates" which was us. Somehow I simply cannot see some of the bling brigade buying into the double training sessions with the same gusto. Even the Spuds fans are dubious let alone the players. Don't think he'll be able to pull the firewalking trick with them either
  8. Unfinished business in the PL. Mancini. Paul Clement is a possibility. We will find someone who follows the Bielsa way and is under even our radar as was MP. My guess is we already have him lined up to come in
  9. I actually understand that comment. Dubai is not an Airport it's a bloody shopping mall full stop. The old T1 did at least have a food court with KFC Pizza Hut & McD' (that nobody could ever find as it was not sign posted very well) and it had The Irish Village. The new T3 is just horrid a central mess of shops packed full of Extras from The Walking Dead having just flown overnight to be in transit. The even newer T3 C - the A380 terminal is even worse. Personally I am lucky I have had a Gold Card on Emirates since they started up so can use the lounges (which are a safe haven where you can at least sit down & work or grab a coffee). That then gives me an EGate fingerprint reader access at Immigration which is another Godsend as Immigration queues ALWAYS take at least an hour even with the Business Class section. But in their favour, even zapping through the EGate, the bags are ALWAYS on the Carousel by the time you get there The new DWC is 60km from Dubai. That is like the Distance from Southampton to Fleet Services. It's a 40 quid taxi fare at least (IF you can find one)
  10. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2638313/James-Ward-Prowse-set-Brazil-test-hes-primed-captain-England-U21s.html Think that covers everything. An impressive Captain of the U21's at the tender age of 19.
  11. I simply cannot believe MP or his agent would be so stupid as to go to visit Spuds without permission. If he had permission then fine. If he didn't then I would sue the ass off Spurs, put MP on Garden leave for a year just to spite him and use him doing this illegally to motivate the players while using Spurs money to pay him and of course fund a replacement. Something ain't right that's f'sure
  12. Atletico dead on their feet, cannot see them holding on in ET. May not have been pretty the last 15 mins but by heck it was exciting stuff
  13. Peter Drury & Andy Townsend commentating for us. Richard Keys Hoddle Keegan & David Platt doing a good job in the studio Gray called it - Real given away a soft corner that often leads to a soft goal and Cassilas does a Gazza/Boruc
  14. None. I'm taking the wife FFS. Think you should ask the Bear for help (Just don't listen to any advice in the subject from Toke's or you'll end up at the Clapham Dogging Society AGM or whatever. IF you're really into Milf's then I'll send you a link to the 1D concert ticket site here in Dubai in April. From the complaints in the press this week the place will be rammed with them Still, guess lots of Milfs would be looking after their young 'uns at Jake Bugg and probably watching Paolo Nutini. Randomly 3 years ago at Foster the People in John Peel a bunch of lasses were squelching towards the tent when one fiteh slipped and squished to her knees right in front of me. Her pals cracked up and (amazingly for me) I instantly managed to come out with - Oh. While you're down there.... All her pals then gave her about 2 minutes of GET ON WITH IT WOMAN - SHOW HIM YER TITS. It was a legendary moment, even my Missus was so busy PMSL'ing she forgot to give me a black eye. So anyway that is the main reason FtP are on my list this year!
  15. Also to be fair one COULD critique the Free Wifi & 4G connectivity they will have this year, plus the option of buying a Phone bar charger for 20 quid that you can then swap for a fully charged one at the on-site store.....
  16. After the glamping debate (some of us are getting REALLY old Cat!) Here is the final official line up http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/line-up/line-up-2014/ Get planning!
  17. More confused that ever. What should I have for my pre dinner drink now? Red Wine? Red Bull? Red Stripe? I guess Heineken is now forbidden
  18. I could see her point - Keyboard playing frontman. But I do agree musically they don't come close.
  19. One of our Dubai Saints crew is gonna be at that one, hope you don't drown! OK just for KRG quick review from 9th May. Sandance made a welcome return to Atlantis here in Dubai - they have a knack of putting really weird mixes together on a long Friday afternoon & into Saturday morning. They got very badly burnt on NYE by the local firework display which meant anyone trying to arrive after 7pm had a FIVE hour wait locked onto buses on the Palm Island - LOTS of very angry punters. Anyway they came back with a half full venue and the mix kicked off with Arrested Development. (I hate RnB Rap & Hip Hop) but actually they were really good fun and were later to be found standing at the bar chatting & selfie'ing to anyone and everyone so go down as a great bunch. Then came the band that I guess nobody else in Dubai had ever heard of - Scouting for Girls. Perhaps (unkindly) Mrs D_P instantly classified them as "The British Killers" Let's be honest very few knew their songs, but what they did REALLY well was the inbetween banter and for each song later in the set they had a sing-a-long run through for all the choruses. As a result their 90 minute set was absolutely superb, great fun, hell almost a karaoke night without Bullfrogs! Considering she'd never heard of them before the Mrs now has all their stuff downloaded and playing most of the day. Their last song was hidden in an explosion of Red & White lighting which kinda helped our move even as it looked like the stripes we all hope we wear next year! Then on to the main Act (well for us) - The Pet Shop Sisters.... Now, considering that Neil T looks like an overweight geezer from down the pub these days and that the crowd could only see the top of the silly hats being worn by Chris Lowe above his Keyboard set they actually put on an AMAZING show. They were supported by a superb Visual Effects projection and by two dancers. As such they actually completely owned the stage in a way you could not imagine an old fart and a fixed keyboard player could do. Luckily, 95% of the crowd were European so we all "Got" the totally OTT Kitsch. Have the songs we honestly couldn't decide whether to simply PMSL at the stupidity of it all or just sing along. FFS even now some 3 weeks later I still find myself singing Go West FFS. We are lucky enough to have global leading bands coming here almost every week now, choosing which to see is now getting really hard as the cost becomes painful. While nothing will ever come close to the Stones earlier this year, I have to say this was a cracking night out. 3 great bands for 50 quid. IF we did not have to make a 6am start the next morning we would have stayed on and seen Goldfish, local Dance heros Hollaphonc and Fat Boy Slim. The other great thing about Sandance? No Golden Circle so us general punters can get right up close without having to pay 300 quid a pop Absolutely bonkers the pair of them and a really great night out! Well worth catching on their World Tour even if only to kick in some bad Dad Dancing #Ihavenostreetcredleftwhocares Like I said - REALLY weird
  20. Bit Igsey, that's a REALLY bad analogy, everyone knows that bit you liked is actually true
  21. San'aa in Yemen will forever hold the title. Lahore. Damascus? Yeah have to agree with Whitey, UNLESS you could use some "wasta" or get into the "almost" an Exec lounge. It doesn't get the title of worst though as it was always one of the few airport Duty Frees that stocked Chateau Ksara Reserve and Chateau Musar Lebanese Red Wines.... Yum yum yum Jo'burg is grim if you are stupid enough to pack anything valued at more than US$10 in your suitcase But surely the worst in terms of how you are treated like cattle by the staff HAS to be JFK Closer to hone, agree with WSS Krakow WAS also grim - just too small, BUT they have embarked on a major expansion now and Ryanair are creating a hub there so it should improve before too long. Best airport by far was always Changi, Munich is also a bloody good airport, UNLESS you are travelling on a bloody A380 in which case the non-Lufthansa Terminal is like a Sardine can.
  22. He's sure starting to diversify into Brand Adam http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11225520.Saints_star_trades_the_pitch_for_major_modelling_contract/?ref=var_0 Won't be long before he's on Billboards all over Asia advertising underwear & Caltex motor oils
