IF there is any truth in this new info about Pottechino staying then I agree he must of sanctioned Lallana moving on. Sometime during this season Lallana is going to be a the height of his resale value and if his heart wants away then there's no real benefit in not taking as much cash as we. An get out of him. Equally, for Pottechino to have signed an extension (allegedly) then I guess he would of had assurances that he could expect the revenue to be re injected into the playing staff. All wishful thinking and guesswork but personally I would be one relieved mofo if, after all the hyperbole about complete meltdown we ended up keeping Shaw and Pottechino and reinvesting Lallanas sale into a new striker.

I'm gutted when any good Saints player wants away but football is a mercenary business and why should footballers not be like the rest of society, trying to better themselves and their careers? Lallanas got about five good years left in him and if he's to look back after his best playing days are behind him and think to himself that he achieved everything anyone in his profession could then unfortunately this is the time to move. ill wish him well in his future career and hope that the club squeeze every last penny out of any negotiations as he's going to be virtually irreplaceable. if the club really is true to its youth principles, maybe there's a new Lallana ready to drop off the production line soon but I don't see any of the new crop being quite ready to fill his boots next season. i can't believe Lallana or the club would be foolish enough to sign a deal this side of the World Cup? If he gets a lot of pitch time it's got to be "Southamptons Adam Lallana" not "liverpools" that makes spence on all levels.
-
Liverpool to Saints ...we want to buy your Adam Lallana please? Saints to Liverpool...we don't need the money, we'll take that Sturridge as a straight swop. liverpool to Saints..oh no he's playing really well, he's not for sale! Saints to Liverpool...(in scousers accent) EXXACCTLLY,!!!,

Correction.

I think Blakey is ITN on this and his post last night about the Bayer kit saying "switch the colour of the stripes and that's next years kit" could be hinting that the new sponsor could be LG? - same lines, phones... Get my coat.

Without watching it over again I was left with the feeling that AL did speak a. It too fondly of Liverpool. Your best performance. "Liverpool away, outstanding achievement to get a result there, their fans applauded us off". What ground would you like to score at? "Anfield" (didn't say who for) Shore there was another reference equally as gushing too. I just found his references towards Liverpool a bit too much like he's got them stuck in his head ATM.

http://www.givemesport.com/461558-adam-lallana-transfer-to-liverpool-a-done-deal All thats bad about Liverpool fans! They recon the rumour is coming from Ricky, being scouse and all that...

I think I've commented on this before but to answer your question about the Packers, Americans who follow European football are really only interested in success, I think it's bred into them from an early age, win at all costs. I live and work in the US and listen to a radio station daily dedicated to "soccer" there are daily phone ins and without fail you get American Chelsea, Liverpool and United fans and now I notice loads of "I'm a Man City Fan" callers, no matter what Saints do, unless we win the PL or at least get in the CL a couple of consecutive seasons then were just not going to be on Americas radar. (apart from the guy who came up to me at my kids baseball match when he clocked my saints shirt, turned out his relatives are from chandlers Ford and one actually lived the next street to where I was born, small world)

We couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo today, missed Jay Rod obvious.

1. I don't like bullies - Coventry away beating up the disabled area oohhhhh they're hard! 2. I don't like being called a "Scummer" I'm a good dad, honest and hard working. 3. I don't like being hit and punched when walking down Goldsmith avenue in 1982 when just trying to catch a train. 4. I didn't very much like the fact that my mates car got a brick through the window once for displaying a Saints car sticker while daring to drive through that dump. 5. I don't like tattooed, top hat wearing, bell ringing morons urinating on our new plush away fans seating whilst making masturbating gestures towards my fellow Saints fans.
-
If we were rating players we'd miss for next season if they weren't adequately replaced; 1. Lallana 2. Morgan 3. Big Vic/Cork 4. Borec 5. Lovren 6. JRod 7. Shaw 8. Rickie 9. Davis 10. Fonte 11.Chambers
-
The defense lost their mojo when Borec was injured, with Gazza in goal the confidence to play the ball back was lost, we lost more possession and started to concede goals. When he came back we'd lost Wanyama and to be fair to the OP i do think we have become more cavalier going forward as the seasons panned out.
-
Assuming the OP's premise, it's all about winning the top mini league. The difference between our current position and moving to the next stage is being able to gain more points off the top sides. If there was to be a mini league next season that included City, Chelsea, arsenal, Liverpool, then we need to be getting more points off these. This will be the measure of progress.

whatever smart arse, so you don't think donating to a charity is a worthwhile idea?
-
If every season ticket holder paid about £40 extra, or even if the club added about £2.00 to each match ticket we could do a Barca and have Unicef or Save the Children, I've always admired Barcelona's class and although they are 1000's times more wealthy than us I still think that provided the fans could match the income from sponsorship the kudos and style would be cool, but especially, we'd be contributing to a very needy cause rather than promoting a marketing brand, online gambler or payday loan shark.
-
It seems a lifetime ago that we were being lauded as the second tightest defence in Europe.
-
[video=youtube_share;9E9XRH8wVdI] seriously though, I've been wondering for a while what they say each match, must be getting a bit repetitive after all these years, could do with a bit of a freshen up (above was tongue in cheek). If you were Ads what would you do/say before the whistle as a last minute rallying call?
-
I quite like the Monaco kit this year, red/white diagonal but with red shorts IMHO would look different to all the other stripe kits but bring back more white into a kit thats currently too red.
-
Please take note that Gosport Borough are at Wembley on Sunday for their moment of glory. Apparently sold 10,000 tickets so Waterloo is likely to be swarming with Skates. Not sure of the underground routes but might also bump into them underground.

He's going to have one hell of an uphill climb if he thinks he's going to sell Saints to the yanks. I've been living here for a year now and listen to SirusFC a digital radio station solely dedicated to football (soccer). The announcers/hosts of the show spend about 75% of their time talking EPL and of that it's pretty much Citeh, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and a pit of a **** take on Spurs. Teams like Saints are bunched in with the Norwich, Stoke, villa etc group and never get any air time. I just don't see what a Canadian ice hokey coach is going to do to raise Saints profile other than to make us out as a bit of a freak side show. BTW, the US Siants Facebook group do a Stirling job and probably promote Saints better than anything the club might try.

Somewhere in this thread it was mentioned that Cortese didn't do many open interviews. After reading the hundreds of amature psychologist analysis's in this thread it's really no wonder is it. IF our new chairman ever stumbled across this forum I'd wager he'll think twice before deciding its worthwhile trying to be open and candid any time soon. Can't we just take a chil pill and enjoy the rest of what's been an enjoyable premier league season for saints fans?
