That was he night welter out "Arry &Jim are red'n'white" for the whole second half. That's awkward! Then there was the game with the snowballs in the car park and down the path where the old chap got his greenhouse bombed with snowballs.

Well I guess that if I was choosing and it had to be one of the two, I'd probably use my own black box of international football stereotypes; defender - Italian league defensive midfield - german league Attacking midfielder - spanish or Brazilian leagues striker - Dutch/argentine/Brazilian my black box says to stay clear of Dutch defenders who's only recent experience is in Scotland.

I can't see how we can continue selling players for £20m plus and expecting to replace them with equal talent for £4-5m. Just doesn't stack up in the long term. Get the odd lucky find but in due course we either spend similar sums on replacements or go backwards. OR, do what we did to get us our reputation and actually start showing more belief in our famed accadomy.

Pochettino interview: Spurs are a bigger club than Saints, etc.
diggers replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
Personally speaking I never took to him after he was happy to be paraded within a couple of hours of Adkins being dismissed. If he had any morals he could of suggested he showed due respect to a fellow manager. From day he showed what a self centered egotistic **** he was. I'm not at all surprised by his interview. -
Just picked up an away at JD sport in gatwick south. £42.00 relative bargain!

Haven't got time to read the whole thread but the one snippet that caught my attention was when Les said "Athletico returned our Deposit" rather than buying us out of our option which is what I thought the general consensus was??? Being the case, we didn't make a dime on the deal, even more gut wrenching :-(

New Forest, Do you mean Bashley ;-) -
Personally I don't have a problem with him running his contract down so long as he gives 100% for the term of the contract. At the end of the day isn't that what a contract is? I suppose we could say that Koeman is running his contract down and no ones complaining about that. Equally, those of us with mortgages are running those contracts down too, no ones saying, "come on wollwich, re sign me for another 5 years"

I think I'm in a fairly decent position to comment on this one. I have been a Saints fan all my life, originally from Eastleigh and a season ticket holder for 25yrs. Was there in the Itchen North through the relegations and promotions. I've also ran decent sized sales of driven businesses. Two years ago I relocated to open an office in the U.S so I have now had exposure to how business is done this side of the pond. personally, I think Ralf is the real deal. When he speaks he's so consistently on message, he clearly has a corporate dictionary lodged in his rectum but he's brilliant at his job which is basically the conductor of the orchestra. He's attempting to emphasis the "Southampton Way" which as a salesman I recognize as a Unique Selling Point. He's trying to re build the harm Cortese did to our Heratige and re connect with the fans through the clever associations with ex players. If he does manage to grow our revenues from this side of the Atlantic that can only be great news for the fans back home because that will provide more income to compete with the big six. I fail to see why he gets any criticism? The nonsence about using non football terminology and corporate speak is ridiculous. He's not from a football background, nor is he from Thornhill or Sholing but that shouldn't be a cause for ridicule. I don't see people on here complaining about Katerina's accent when she opened the magnificent training pavilion or her fathers accent when he was the only one to get his cheque book out to give us the opportunity to continue supporting our beloved club? I encounter Americans who struggle to understand the way I speak and I always immediately think how narrow minded they are if they say anything about it. Surely it's about the job he's doing and not his accent or phrases he uses? Give the man a break, we could be in div 2 with a board full of local coucellors and owners who make their monthly installments from their Giro's!

I happened to be in Seattle Super Bowl week and their city is one of the most sports mad in the U.S. (IMO). IF, we do get a tie up with any of the teams from Seattle, Sounders, or Even Hawks it would be a great move forward in the global brand awareness project. As an example, even the airline attendants wore Hawks shirts the weeks leading up to the game and you got priority boarding if you had a Hawks shirt on. If this shirt ever went on sale in Seattle I can see it being very popular.

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread

I wonder if the fact that we're now playing our first competitive game on the 30th July will mean that the away kit will be released sooner than originally planned? -

My memories, A yellow and blue top hat made by my bro at Fords Channon walks on water banner sponsored by carrefour bell bottom trousers with dozens of scarfs tied around wrists who remembers the Cup Final "it's a Knock Out" filmed at the sports center? I was 13 but can rember every second of the weeks leading up to it and the magical weekend it's self. Even if we won the champions league now I don't think it would be so special.
