  1. That first one was Sammy Lee's main role while he was at the club wasn't it?
  2. Realistically we should be beating Palace? They are a similar size club to us with some pretty decent players and a couple who are better than what we have. A draw away from home against them is perfectly fine.
  3. Also how many of the already injured have it? Might be some of them, a couple of other first team players and the rest are coaches, cleaners, chefs or other people with job roles beginning with c.
  4. He's so unbelievably tedious. I didn't particularly agree with your thing about Armstrong and Broja but doesn't mean I'm going to follow you around the message board banging on about it. I hear so many ridiculous views at matches that I can only imagine he must spend his time at St Mary's following people around the stadium and telling them they are wrong in a overtly patronising way.
  5. It's becoming so silly that I hope we persist just for the random chance that a defender messes up and flicks it on to one of our players who manages to bundle it home.
  6. What was going on with the block on the left hand side? Loads of spare seats, we went and stood there because it's always good to have a bit of room to run into when we score. I guess they didn't put them on sale but I can't think why not as the netting was still in place between us and Palace fans.
  7. Cant we make them play with 7 players like they did in Portugal? Seems fair to me. (Waiting for the "we couldn't beat 9 man Newcastle" posts)
  8. I was expecting some sort of check on the way in last night but there was nothing. Not sure if they were doing it for home fans or not as their queues to get in were pretty big about 5-10 mins before kick off.
  9. Some more thoughts now, couldn't be bothered when I got back last night. For their first goal, the ref put his whistle to his mouth when Romeu was tackled/fouled but then let play go on. Was a stupid goal to concede as Tella was initially in a great position on the left and for some reason didn't put a cross in, played it backwards and we eventually lost possession. Gallagher is absolute quality. What a player. Caballero did well apart from diving out of the way of Zaha's shot. Some good saves and his passing is excellent, he has such smooth technique with his feet compared to our other 2 keepers. Good to see us being a bit more niggly. Not sure what it is about Palace that brings out our shithousing but we could do with more of that. A lot of our problems are self inflicted. The number of times we make loose passes and concede possession is frustrating. It's not even as if these come when the players are making difficult passes, it's simple 10 yard ones that go astray and cost us dearly because of the fact we commit players, especially the full backs, forward. Loved the atmosphere in the away end. Had quite a few of the younger lads there which helped.
  10. Walking back to the car. Was fun in the away end, decent atmosphere. Quality when the second goal went in. Point was fair Is handball, even accidental, in the built up to a goal not a free kick anymore? Would have loved it if Long had scored a winner.

    Coronavirus

If anyone hasn't a booster they can join a trial at the Uni for a new type of vaccine.
  12. Pretty sure it was the editorial from the Observer. Will be interesting to see how many and which Tories vote against Plan B today.
  13. It's the football pass I'm waiting for. Proof you've never taken a foam hand to a game, worn your team's shirt over the top of your normal clothes or filmed yourself watching a game on a selfie stick.
  14. All the places I have been with the kids just ask for a negative LFT. Taken them to loads of gigs etc and it's always the same, can't see any reason why football would be different.
  15. Read a few bits saying that backbenchers want Liz Truss as PM. Fucking hell, I think I'd rather keep that prick Johnson than have her running the country.

I've had nothing more than a sore arm with any of my 3. Popped into town earlier about 4pm. Was so quiet considering it's so close to Xmas. Could even walk past the non-German market without getting squeezed involuntarily into Sports Direct by the crowds. I'm guessing this is partly due to the work from home mandate which is taking footfall from city centres again. Walked through Marlands and noticed the Saints shop in there now. We truly are preparing for relegation if we're opening shops in Championship standard shopping centres.
  17. They should get up Woolston. Apparently a place there that does a decent massage and they won't stop after 15 minutes unless you've already finished.
  18. If we play Walcott and Long up front together would it be the worst striking partnership the league has ever seen?
  19. Slight muscle injury in training I think.

    Coronavirus

Had my booster with on Monday. Spent the 15 minutes in the waiting room after chatting with an old guy about Saints. He went to Newcastle away this season and said a female Saints fan fell down the stairs after the match, severely broke her leg and spent a week in hospital in Newcastle. Now I'm more worried about going to St James' Park than I am about covid.
  21. Wonder if anyone bought this? Nearly doubled in value today, getting some big interest on twitter and other social media as people suddenly take note of the upward price action. Mainnet within a week, hopefully another price spike then. Exciting times.

Crikey, that's not nice. No wonder you aren't interested in a booster with those experiences. What vaccine did you have for the first two? I wonder if it would make any difference if you had a different one for the booster.

I tend to find that this vaccine scientist on twitter has the best information about covid. She updates regularly and cuts straight through the panic and agendas reported in the media. Well worth a read. Here's her latest thread. https://twitter.com/sailorrooscout/status/1468985784338366468?t=9XqCzFH5aQURcfzAUSNbeQ&s=19
  24. Yes it's the Guardian but this article with quotes from some Tory MP's shows the strength of feeling some have towards Johnson right now. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/dec/08/mood-mutinous-among-mps-and-ministers-over-covid-plan-b-measures

Cant see masks staying on very well in a moshpit! One thing I noticed this week is the upturn in people signing off emails and messages at with "stay safe" again. I'm not living in Kabul with the Taliban chasing me ffs.
