Was the yeovil crowd really 7,484. Thats the crowd size they have to manage on. Their finances must be dire.

Hardly a I definitely wont go. By the way Glasogw and Scotland is an okay place to live. It is about 10000 times better than Southampton believe me

Good point

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
broncoboy replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
As someone said he has a good name He has a good goal celebration too and apart from that causes defences a lot of problems He has pace and a good touch Sign him up and give him more time on the pitch And apart from that I am considering having his excellent name tattoed across my arse -
I think next season we will hopefully have wised up a bit. It is never easy to get out of a league like this. Hopefully AP will inject a bit more grit and pace A good start is essential never our strongest attribute and then consistency Oh well NC will give him to October I am sure
-
Papa Waigo is a great player to have in the team. He has pace, a good first touch and is totally unpredictable. Even he doesnt know what he is going to do. Defenders who are tiring must find him a nightmare to play against He is also a character with total self belief. I really hope he stays. And he has a great name

Its a cup final so anything can happen You just have to go and do your best thats all you can do as my mother used to say They are a good team which in some ways I think is a good thing as hopefully that will bring the best football out in us. I told my son after Cardiff there would be another cup final in his lifetime. I am sure AP knows how to prepare his side for this match Win hopefully but whatever we are all Saints so lets enjoy the day COYR

Martin Samuel, Daily Mail on Coretese: "self serving" and a "buffoon"
broncoboy replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
APs career had taken a bit of a dive. He came to Southampton where there were now no financial worries and he was given money to spend. Let's see where we end up at the end of the season. If we are miles adrift from the playoffs and lose the JPT final he may be in trouble If he is close to the playoffs he will be okay If AP wants to leave where would he go that is fundamentally better that is a club with no debt and money to spend. NC would have a sack load of applications The Daily Mail article is just a story to fill a few blank paragraphs taken from a recorded interview. No insight no new information -
Very unsmug thread for those STILL waiting for tickets

Stay calm . Still time yet. -
Can't believe this post is for real. If you wear Saints colours the stewards will hoof you out. They wont allow you to sit in the Carlise end
-
The fact is AP has still won more matches this season (which isn't over yet) than any saints manager has managed in any season in the last 26 years so he must be doing something right. Its the third division , he has the top goalscorer and we are the 11th highest spending club in English football and we are tenth in the league. Thirty odd points off the leader and 17 or so off a playoff place. We have seen some good games but we really let ourselves down on more than one occasion. That doesnt make him brilliant
-
My goodness the kings of Smug are out in force. So reasonable and sensible and so happy to accept second best. You might love the games a bit more if we actually performed to our ability more often
-
Might as well see another inept performance
-
I think we will get beaten 2-1 They will be definitely out to get us and I think they will try to muscle us out of the match. Its the manner in which we play that matters to me. As long as we work hard and keep the ball on the ground. It is in the hands of the God of Football but hopefully not the God of Hoofball
-
Don't want to be a doom merchant but there is something wrong when you cant beat the lower level teams. It requires grit and mental strength and we dont have that yet. It is also wrong to be selective about taking a slice of the games played and drawing conclusions. If we had not dropped all of the points against teams we would have expected to get a result I would have no complaint. I dont expect to wim every game but it is just plain bizarre to beat the best the division has and mess up against the "easier teams"not once not twice but too bloody often Every season is different with unexpected teams doing well. We will still need to learn to win ugly and grind out results to succeed. Re the JPT if I were Carlisle you would know how to play to beat us. Lose that match and AP is a dead man walking. NC doesnt rate that match but he sure as hell wont accept losing it. AP is I am sure a decent man and he deserves some time but NC is a dangerous boss to have. His credibility is bound up in delivering the 5 year plan. NC doesnt think the manager is the most important man at the club. "Behind you AP, behind you"
-
Absolutely true and we dont. We lose to teams we should be able to beat as we win against some of the really good ones. However we are mid table miles off he top and playoffs Surely you cant be happy with that. NC isnt
-
Let me make three predictions for the dreamers out there. Next season will not be any easier than this season We will lose the JPT cup Alan Pardew will be gone by October having ****ed up the start of the season NEXT SEASON There is no logical reason to presume that it will be any easier next year. Our failure to beat many clubs we should not drop points to is about the lack of mental strength in the team. It is hard to put a finger exactly what the problem is but until we get a grip of that we have no reason to believe its going to get any better Our table position shows we are a mid table team tens of points below the leaders. We have the highest goal scorer in the league but we still cant near the playoffs This is a soft team will no leadership on the pitch. We squander chance after chance in front of goal and the back four are vulnerable to anyone with pace. I would be happy if someone would explain why it is going to be any better than this year unless we just spend so much money even AP can get us in the playoffs THE JPT Trophy We seem to greatly underestimate the opposition. If they get their tactiics right they will turn us over. Soft boys soft manager AP gone by October I can hear the excuses now , "Unlucky , tired, time to gel NC in his interview is no mug. Overspent on players in relation to the 5 year plan not near the leaders, unable to get to the playoffs. Add the loss of the JPT and four disappointing results and AP is gone. AP was useful steadied the ship but he is taking us no where. Don't believe me look at the table and tell me that is an acceptable position with the money spent and the top goalscorer in the league
-
They really lack mental strength and that comes from the manager. When they went one behind their tails went down and it just became hoof ball. They did look tired. Papa had no impact at all for the second match and Ricky looked knackered. We were exposed for pace at the back and even Kelvin couldnt hang on to a ball. It was a **** poor result. This inability to put the ball net is about mental strength too. They really are the soft boys of the division. The gulf between the top two and our position says it all. ****e performance and sadly AP will be gone by October having ensured he ****s up the start of next season. He has no fire in him and neither do his teams

So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?
broncoboy replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Yes tickets arrived. I was worried about that theft at the PO sorting office in the news . Not sure what they took as its impossible to know they say -
It was a brilliant peformance by the Saints. Towards the end of the second half Leeds were reduced to blindly hoofing the ball as they were struggling to contain Saints in front of their 18 yard box. Might have slagged AP off before but he got this one dead right
-
Glad that we havent given up chasing the playoffs
broncoboy replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Good point actually -
How charming. My impatience is not that I demand we get promoted but that we compete to get promoted not see the season fizzle out because we cant beat Tranmere. Oh the wise Owls who say this is so typical blah blah It would be acceptable maybe if we has similar resources to Tranmere but they do not have our resources. Lawrie Mac had his moment or two of glory but milked this club to near death I aspire to better days days when club performs to it its best. I woud be happy if we were playing our best and getting turned over by better teams or losing the odd match. AP has had the money got the players the team lacks mental strength when its needed. Make a prediction AP will be gone by October

Another manager with questionable ambition ?
broncoboy replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
What is it about some Saints fans that think it is okay to be relaxed about making the playoffs this season? The ones that believe next year will somehow be easier and that we will stroll the JPT. Any team needs momentumn to get promoted and to consistently drop points to with respect teams we should beat yet win against the top ten shows that there is no lack of football ability but a lack of mental strength. To drop the odd point is understandable but to squander a chance of getting to the playoffs because we can't beat Tramere or Exeter is a just plain foolish that might cost us dear. Cue Saints fans saying well that's the Saints for you. No it doesnt have to be like that. I defy anyone to explain how you find it acceptable to see us drop points to teams that on paper you would place a bet we could beat. Not just once but several times. There is a window of time to get promoted or we will lose certain players and begin to believe we are a League 1 club to stay. AP is a competent manager, has had money and needs time ,but he has no fire and he should look over his shoulder as the "management" have ambitions and some of the Saints fans do too. -
No matter what the standard of the refereeing was if we really had a team that could challenge for promotion they would not have lost to-day and not dropped points earlier. The table doesnt lie (+ 10) . We have not done enough to get to the playoffs. So it appears League 1 is our standard. Sometimes AP sounds really lame. We have had years of failure and bumping along points below the playoff places is hardly brilliant after the money spent and RL brought in. AP needs his arse kicked. There is no reason to believe it will be any better next season. To believe that is wishful thinking By the way the JPT is no dead cert either Can't beat ****ing Tranmere hardly acceptable after the money spent or Exeter or or or

The scarves have changed in the store. They used to do ones which were just red & white. Traditional and best in my opinion. Also how come we sell such JPT tat in the store. Phish poor T shirts of the thinest cotton designed by a class of five year olds. When we rush out a T shirt etc you know it will be ****e./ Surely we could get some decent designs done locally Rant over the Follower of Fashion
