I remember DJ on Football Focus when he topped the league of most appreciated purchases in the prem, ie the highest net rise in the worth of transfers in against what he had paid out. So he was doing something right, he was on a blip when Hoddle cam in, but we will never know what would have happened if the court case didn't happen and we stuck by him.

The lad is 6ft2 and 20 years old with first team football experience, he might not need that much nurturing. I agree, not with the high expectations as that's football fans all over, but that fan's reactions are tempered if he has a bad game.

I miss Um Parhars, he was a good contributor. This board has lost some really good posters over the years.
-
no not good, hope they get employment soon.
-
Get him in a against Brighton, he would have settled enough in two weeks.
-
whilst I agree with not putting any pressue on him, he is 20 and probably itching to get involve. Stick him in on Friday and if he ****s up have him in for extra training, welcome to the professional world Aaron, all the best for your future at the Saints.

But is it free on a Saturday. Went to the football in Bournmouth as a kid with my Dad and the bastard council waited until after kick off and ticketed the whole car park for not paying on a Saturday because the Monday was the bank holiday, ****s.

Thats a shame, I really wanted him back in the summer, I liked the way he had Reading playing, still AP is doing a good job so mustn't gwumble.
-
Now that Curbishly has settled with West Ham the Brighton fans may make themselves believe they have a chance of signing him up.

I suppose GS didn't get everything right. One example that sticks in my mind may have been under H&J, Arsenal at home and the ball rolled past his foot in the last ten minutes and he didn't have the legs to deal with it, it wasn't that he couldn't be bothered he just didn't have the energy left to lift his foot and move it 12 inches and deal with the football.

No they are both lying on the floor after a collision, Lancashire is just pushing himself up and the ball smashes him in the face.
-
What let Delap down was his lack of fitness, he had no energy left in the last 15 mins. That has to be down to poor management.
-
It must really wrankle that he is doing well in the champ chump
-
Best wishes to Kev and his family, wishing you strength for the road ahead.

Lee Todd was out of his depth, run ragged away to Arsenal. To be fair I don't remember people getting on his back, he didn't play enough.
-
From what I've heard its more likely to be Dennis Wise.

From my limited knowledge of other clubs I believe we are up there with the worst at turning on/picking out players for this sort of treatment. Its an element of the Southampton make up I don't like, every club has its negative brigade but with us the negativity becomes the vocal mainstream view and its quite distasteful.

People are really getting hung up on this formation malarky. We are winning and from my view we play a similar style whether 442 451. Is it because some haven't really accepted AP and this is a stick to beat him with. Like others I havn't voted because there wasn't an 'Whatever AP sees fit' option.

He could turn on the taps and hand out paper towels in the corporate ladies loos

The Trotman OG was dissapointing, he didn't have his best game yesterday.
-
I always thought he performed well for us until farmed out to out of position places. There was a sense of hope when burley took over and we all wanted him to sign RS, nevermind.

With better luck we could have walked todays game but fair pley to the lads they kept at it and got the point. We were by far the better side, a little dodgy a set pieces but our play was good for long periods of the game. We mixed it up and on another day it would have come off. I'm pleased with the result even though before the game I thought we were a shoe in for three points. These type of games happen and we stuck to it and got a point where as other seasons we would have losts. Good support, good day out and in the pub happy.

I work for a mental health trust and I've seen a mate of mine in the head injury unit in East Grinstead, the consequences of stamping on someones head is far beyond 'fair do's for someone giving it large'. Still this sort of talk makes the muppets on here feel hard, we haven't evolved much have we.

Indeed it was a good post, I love this stuff. Train travel was quick and cheap and probably just as quick as today, so games in london could easily attract large numbers.

Be strong Ron, our thoughts are with you.
