As a person he seems a pleasant enough guy. As manager of our club? All I can say is he should use his time off to write a book based on "How To Bluff Your Way Through Interviews To Get That Job You Want" because - and I stress, with hindsight - I have no idea how he managed to talk himself into that position in the first place.

Playing devil's advocate here but maybe he's not been sacked because he's not doing that much wrong. Despite all that boring sideways and backwards passing we are 8th in the shots on goal table, 11th in shots on target and 12th in goals scored. And we are 12th in goals conceded. So it could be argued his tactics are not the problem. We are doing enough to be comfortably were we would have expected to be when the season started. Except convert enough of our chances. Can he really blamed for the fact that whatever combination of forward(s)and attacking midfielders he selects, between them they don't seem to have the ability to hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Not seen him do anything that would class as a major error yet, and he has certainly made saves I would have been surprised to see FF make (or even attempt in some cases). He's earned it, until his form drops he should keep it.

Not quite how it sounds. All sudden deaths in Italy are investigated with a "culpable homicide" enquiry, a sort of "assume someone may be responsible" approach until tests prove otherwise.

I was watching our Cup win at WBA via stream. Around about the 70th and 80th minutes the camera focused on MP (from behind). Couldn't hear what he was saying but he was out in his technical area clearly agitated and pointing back into our own half, to me he was indicating we should be dropping back and sit on our lead. Both times Cedric was the nearest player to him. Within a minute or so of each, Cedric first when on an attacking run to the corner flag and the second time a diagonal run that left him in the centre forward position before the move broke down. Can't say for sure he was defying orders but it sure looked that way to me.

Never actually witnessed anything myself but remember an air of "menace" in the coach park both before and after the game. A few months later at the Charity Shield game weren't we responsible for Wembley introducing a roof over the tunnel for all future games after some rather "unsportsmanlike" behaviour as the Liverpool players left the pitch with their trophy?

Agree with above 2 posts, at a time when we are desperate for some on pitch leadership we seem to have a squad full of introverts playing (personality, not tactically) in their own little bubble. I agree, Yoshida is probably the only one who springs to mind that cares enough to instill some fight in those around him. He should be first choice for the rest of the season - who he replaces, you may as well toss a coin.

Plenty of managers have "lost the dressing room" but has there ever been a case of a team getting together and collectively ignoring a manager's instructions once out on the pitch? I am coming to the conclusion that that approach by the players is our only hope,of survival.

Should be a simple HT talk. "Right lads, all I want you to do is go out there for 45 minutes and forget everything I've ever told you so far this season."

The one thing you are forgetting to take into account is that transfers - in and out - are usually spread over 3 to 5 years. So your £47m profit over 2 seasons probably relates to something like £9-12m per year. And most of that would have been wiped out if the Promes signing had gone through. Then again we would probably still be receiving - and making - payments from the previous 2 or 3 seasons as well in that period. Impossible to say for sure without seeing the full accounts but one thing IS for sure - no-one, not even an owner, can simply "pocket" £1 , let alone £50m , from a limited company without it appearing in the audited accounts somewhere.

So you could have used exactly the same set of figures to show us a) 6th in money spent this window. b) 2nd in money received this window but you chose c) 20th in the net spend this window. I think we all know which direction your "spin" spins

Nah, he failed as he was left up front on his own whilst the rest of his crew were held back in defence. None were able to make the killer pass and slide the matches through to him as he was isolated whilst surrounded by 4 of the opposition. If the plotters had played a 4-4-2 system the world would be a different place today.

How many times a day are you visiting this site at the moment? Normally once a day is (more than) enough, but currently I must be revisiting it hourly in expectation of seeing a new sticky entitled "X signs 5 year deal" or "Y comes on loan for rest of season". 1) Back in the summer did you Sell a substantial spread on number of goals we'd score during the season? 2) How furious were you that we'd already scored 2 by half time on Saturday? 3) Are you aware that the phrase "What goes up must come down" only relates to gravity. It is not an excuse for a crap season.
