Do you think players get advised not to look on this forum?
Wurzel replied to ashleyb5443's topic in The Saints
No. Most of us read it. Some of us even post now and again. -
Pace counts for nothing if you're not running in the right direction. Over 90 minutes a quick brain will always come out on top over quick legs. Felt JayRod was the weak link yesterday. Ramirez (assuming he's fully fit) and Osvaldo spotting each other's runs for 90 minutes would have wiped the floor with West Ham's dinosaur age defending.

Other people. Biographies are written about others. AUTO-biographies are written about oneself. Yours pedantically

If there's no confusion why are pundits and commentators confused? Why were both appealed for by players? Can you confidently say neither would have been given in another game by another ref ? Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk 2

I'm not complaining about individual decisions as they tend to balance out. But there seems to be confusion over what is and isn't handball. It should be simple. If your hands are in front of your face or torso as JWP's were then the ball would have hit you anyway so no handball. If hands are above your head or spread wide as in the Norwich guys case you make yourself a bigger blocking target. Should be handball even if from close range. Seven Saints Academy Aces - look at them now!
Wurzel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Interesting comparison with the ManUtd "kids" is that whilst they were developing they had the same first team manager throughout their career. Ours have had 3 or more in their time yet all have kept them on, suggesting all our managers have recognised their future potential, and/or the committee style leadership throughout all levels at the club is paying off. -
In answer to the original post - NO! We are building a strength in depth SQUAD, not a first choice nest XI plus back up, and we've already shown we don't need to sell to buy if we do want to strengthen it further. He's flexible and can immediately slot in as and when required either off the bench or starting a game. I'd like to think that no player is sure enough of his position to be considered guaranteed first choice, that's when complacency set's in. Cork is just the sort of player to keep anyone picked ahead of them on their toes.

Nope. Tried both. Usually see tweets celebrating goals before they go in on the stream.

Have you ever tried making an @ out of seats? That's purely your opinion due to not being a twitter user. I know many people for whom following the #saintsfc hashtag is the first (and for some, only) source of keeping up to date with Saints news - before here (possibly why so many past posters have deserted this site), the OS , Echo or anywhere else. And it's certainly the quickest and most comprehensive way of keeping up on match days (apart from turning up at the stadium).

Have you ever tried making an @ out of seats? E=The9;1766900] I should be more annoyed about it, but it just smacks of desperate bandwagon jumping and shows the club genuinely has no clue what people want from them in terms of communication. Osvaldo Saints Go Marching In......

Actually, in case Mr Cortese is reading this, please note that the line "Look out you Big 4 we're coming for you" is intended to emphasise how we are taking things one step at a time and in no way implies a lack of ambition on our part

...... we used to sing about catching Pompey ?:lol: We're coming for you. We're coming for you Look out you "Big 4" We're coming for you

How expensive would football need to become before you wouldn't watch Saints?
Wurzel replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Afraid it's already gone past that stage for me as well. Premier League football is now something I have accepted carries on without me. I'm still just as interested in results and how we played etc, but as far as attending games go it'll be one or two a season as a treat. Contrast with Hampshire's T20 games, all of which I attended this season (for the first time) at a cost of between £12.50 and £20 a game. Affordable, all but one were very entertaining with tense exciting finishes, and I've already decided I'm going again next year. -
And to think, we even ditched the stripes so they wouldn't make him look fat and still he goes elsewhere. That's the trouble with football today - no loyalty.

Was thinking the same. Do I point out he's making a pratt of himself or sm I guilty of a whoosh moment . Funny either way Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk 2

...we're not going to win the league. These are the forecasts of Bloomberg Sport, the analytics company who have used seasons' worth of data and complex algorithms to predict the final standings of the new season. Realistic?

If you could relive one footballing moment, what would it be?
Wurzel replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Even though I was at Wembley 76 if we are talking single moments it has to be this Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk 2 -
Much as I agree with his sentiments, there's probably hardly a country in the world where one or more other countries couldn't find some reason to object to. In any case I always thought that the Olympics were awarded to a city not a country, and for the duration of the games the sites the games take place in are considered a separate entity and outside the jurisdiction of where they take place. Provided those sites are operated to Olympic principles and LGBT participants and spectators are treated equally and have free access at the games themselves I don't see what goes on in the rest of the country is relevant.

Have you ever taken a bird or your Missus or both to watch Saints?
Wurzel replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
Mine regularly comes to matches when I go nowadays. I spent most of her first home game praying nobody sat around us could overhear her comments such as " the other team have got pretty uniforms" and "do the ones running along the sidelines choose their own flags" But she enjoyed it. Within a few months we were amongst 1400 Saints fans at her first away game at Carrow Rd. 1399 Southampton necks were craning to our left to see our attack at the far end. She, on her own, was facing to the right, flicking Vs at the Norwich fans in the home end. To be fair not sure which was the more embarrassing. -
Bournemouth - Real Madrid Southampton - Real Sociedad Pompey - Real Itycheck

They were the smokescreen whilst the Rooney to Chelsea, Torres to Saints deal gets sorted.
