Surely you remember? you were trying to convince us there lots of modern conspiracies like Rigby and 7/7 where the press had been silenced by D notices. When I pointed out they had been abolished in 1993 you got abusive.
-
Er no. Shift a stubborn tenant who is blocking the redevelopment.
-
Not at all. D notices were very different to DA notices. Important not to mix the two up.

but with a slower processor, much less capable graphics, half the RAM and half the storage

A friend who was working at the BBC in 1987 when the great storm hit was convinced his station had been hit by a pulse bomb - a bomb designed to wipe out electronic communications without damaging physical infrastructure because the nature of the damage was unlike anything you'd expect from severe weather (like current surges or short circuits).

Often its cheaper to lease new than own old. If you really do the sums for your Ka - including repairs, depreciation, road tax and the fact a new car gets better mileage I bet this lease for a comparable new car is cheaper. http://www.tilsungroup.com/vauxhall-corsa-1.3+cdti+ecoflex+limited+edition+5dr-car-5435#.VHT4T4usU9Y

Theres a separate thread about this

Exactly, my last two desktops have been refurbs from PC World and they've been indistinguishable from new and the prices are about 65% of what you'd pay for a new machine of the same spec. Obviously ebay can be fine but I like the fact PC World give a 12 month guarantee and they have a shopfront presence. This is the FM15 minimum spec. http://www.footballmanagerblog.org/2014/10/fm15-system-requirements.html

Any of the laptops below will run FM - its just a question of how fast its churns through the calculations that power the game. Because FM is so number crunching heavy its the processor that counts more than RAM, graphics or size of hard drive. Obviously the more powerful the CPU the less waiting time (everything else being equal). Id compare the processor speed of a laptop you have played FM on with one of these PC World refurb machines http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/refurbished-laptops/703_7366_70436_xx_xx/xx-criteria.html using this site http://cpuboss.com/compare-cpus Edit: I'd buy this one. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/refurbished-laptops/hp-pavilion-15-n268sa-15-6-refurbished-laptop-black-silver-21862442-pdt.html

Kitchen roll, eye, champagne bottle, trouser logo and the little handle on his bar stool. I nominate Tokes to get the BJ from you, no cash alternative (either way).

I thought Cortese described him as just a department head - ie the head coach and not the manager.

Equal funding doesn't necessarily equate to equal popularity. I'd just as happily watch the womens Wimbledon final as the mens, because as contests they are equally good. Same applies to athletics, swimming and any other sport where its head to head competition. Most people apparently disagree though. Wimbledon 2014 got 3.1m viewers for the womens final and 10m for the mens - ie three times as many. Lord D does has a point about womens football on tv. I watched the England - Germany game and it was embarrasingly bad - tactically, fitness, technical ability- terrible. There are good reasons for the FA to promote grassroots womens football but as a spectacle, I wouldnt watch again.

And white shirts. Its almost as if everything was in black and white.

Better to play on Boxing Day and New Years Day and scrub the rest.
-
Do papers really care about issues any more, or are they amoral businesses who want to maximise revenues so their 'angle' just reflects whatever niche they see as an opportunity? Arguably the Guardian (owned by a trust) and the BBC are driven by things other than popularity but for the rest.....

Driving down to the Pyrenees. Any advice forthcoming?
buctootim replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
It is, usually around the same price as Eurotunnel but cheaper when you include all the extra petrol and tolls plus will save you about 1.5 hours driving time compared with Calais. Obviously as the crossing is around 4 hours it wont actually save you any time overall but it feels better than being in the car and breaks the journey up. Enough time to walk around, get a meal and drink and watch a film. -

I've done a similar route several times, albeit starting from Dieppe which is quite a bit further south. As Trousers says Campaniles are ideal overnight stops. Ive used this one a lot but its probably about 5 hours from Calais. http://www.campanile.com/en/hotels/campanile-tours-sud-chambray-les-tours Top tip is avoid coming back north on the A10 / A20 on the last weekend in August, its a nightmare. If you have to travel then use the A16 /A28 which gives Paris a wider birth. -
People need to lighten up. This is why we have such bland dishonest politicians who dont say what they really think and believe.

So Fish was a Lg2 player but had serious knee injury that he didn't recover from and led to him getting released by the mighty Gillingham. This is the guy they're banking on to help them? Sheesh I'm no football manager but instead of picking up crocked journeymen who has played 8 times in two years surely they should be looking to loan the energy and ability of improving young players from the Championship or even Lg1.

The whole point is that its not about the war, its about the pause in the war because of Christmas spirit. If they were firing bullets into each others skulls yelling "Happy Christmas Fritz / Tommy" whilst the voice over said "Don't go abroad this year, enjoy your Christmas with Sainsbury" you'd be right, but they don't.

I searched three times for the offensive words because I kept just seeing a picture of a house and "an image from" and assumed I'd missed something. Couldn't believe that was what all the fuss was about. I grew up in Weston, doesn't stop me being snobby about the the fact the current residents have put wagon wheels all over it (fake wagon wheels on a council estate house ffs!)
